What A Disappointing Day

I have to vent . . .

I got up today all excited because the surprise b-day gift for my daughter was going to arrive . . .she'll be 13 on Sunday (Sept 1) and we wanted to give her something special . . .We purchased her a Queen Size bed for her b-day or so we thought.

This past Sunday I went into our local Sleepy's because they were having a huge sale . . .after being there for 2 hours I thought I purchased her a Sealy Posturepedic Pillowtop . . .got the mattress protector and everything . . .told them I wanted it delivered on Friday, August 30th and was told "no problem, everything you ordered is in stock" Yeah, right . . . :rolleyes: Anyhow, I was told to call the 800# on Friday morning to get a delivery time . . .a recorded version told me 7am - 10pm . . .ummmmmm I didn't like that much because it was really a large window, so I hit the "O" and got a customer service rep. Customer service rep told me that there was a problem with my order and that my boxspring was not in . . .I said "what do you mean it's not in?" She then put me on hold for 5 minutes and came back and offered me an upgrade to a Sealy Spectrum or something like that . . .I said "soooooooo you mean to tell me I spent 2 hours in one of your stores and tried out different mattresses, found one I liked and now you are trying to make me take something I never even saw?" Sounds like bait and switch to me . . .needless to say, I told her to cancel the entire order. 5 minutes later, the phone rings . . .guess what? They found my boxspring . . .hmmmmm sounds strange doesn't it? I told her "oh it just appeared?" She then asked if I would accept delivery but it wouldn't be until after 3pm . . .I said NOPE, cancel it . . .9:30 phone rings again . . .customer service manager (rudely chewing on something) asked me why I wouldn't take delivery . .. I told him I was very dissatisfied with their service, he then tried to cut me a deal by saying "we'll take off the delivery charges" NOPE, cancel it . . .he said ok, then . . .4pm Mike from dispatch calls . . .ummmmm we are having a problem with your delivery, the truck broke down . . .UMMMMMM HELLLLLLOOOOOOO, I told him I canceled this order this morning . . .he said he didn't get that message . . . Sooooooooo needless to say, after all this planning on a huge surprise for my daughter, I ended up with nothing . . .:rolleyes:

I am so sorry you went through all of that for nothing :( That is just awful customer service!! {{hugs}}

Browneyes - I was very tempted to go for the upgrade, but the more I thought about it I was like wait a minute I don't even know what that is or what it feels like . . .I dunno I just can't buy something that I haven't seen or laid on . . .ya know?

Now, if it was an upgrade to a Lagoon View Concierge Room at the Poly or Grand Floridian, that'd be a different story. ;)
