Why would I even care? Does the Uber driver use your score to determine if they will pick you up? Does the score affect the availability of rides?

DH's Uber app screen didn't look like what you're describing. There was a little head icon in the top right corner. I clicked on that and his account name came up. Under it was a star symbol and 5.00. What scale is that on?In the app, click on account (at the bottom) and your score should be in the upper left corner.

Mine looks like that after I press the account tab. Does he have an iPhone?
I believe it’s out of five, so in Ubers eyes he’s perfect.
3-for-3 I guess!! We've not used Uber very much; I just don't really trust the system somehow. We were in LA in April and they apparently have surge-pricing. Our travel companions Ubered from LAX to the pier in San Pedro and it cost them $140/USD. The same trip in a metered cab cost us $67/USD. Later that evening, I needed to do some shopping so we tried an experiment. We took a cab from our hotel to the store and took an Uber back (exact same route, in reverse). The cab, which was metered, cost $3/USD less.
This is exactly why I don’t like nor participate in this rating BS. When I bought my car the salesman practically begged me to give him a 10 rating for about a dozen different factors, otherwise he’d get a bad performance review. I never responded to the e-mail review despite two or three reminders from the independent review company.. I had a driver once tell me they could get in trouble if they don’t receive 5 star ratings so I’m always more lenient with my scores. Think I’ll be adjusting this a bit since the drivers rate us as well.
Totally this. If any sales-or-service person asks for a 10, I simply ignore their surveys. Why any company would invest in this process (usually conducted by third parties and not inexpensive) and not want honest feedback to measure actual performance is beyond me.This is exactly why I don’t like nor participate in this rating BS.
