Totally this. If any sales-or-service person asks for a 10, I simply ignore their surveys. Why any company would invest in this process (usually conducted by third parties and not inexpensive) and not want honest feedback to measure actual performance is beyond me.My company does extensive research on our customer experience. One of the questions on our surveys is “Were you asked by any {{company}} employer to give a positive response?”. If the answer is yes, we ferret out the culprit and heck rains down.
I’m hoping my car salesman didn’t get into trouble by me ignoring the survey. He was fine, but I honestly could not give him a 10 in every criteria. Overall I’d probably rate him 9.2, which seems to equal a failure to the companies who engage in such practices. Hopefully an absent-minded old lady who “forgot” to complete the survey didn’t ding him.
Anyway, when I brought my car in for servicing, he was still there for several years.
