Teriyaki chicken tonight.
What meal kit companies have you tried and do you have any preferences/recommendations?I dropped the ball during Christmas break and forgot to skip different meal kits we had rotated through so we ended up with six different meal kits last week (from three different companies). They're all on pause now, but we finally worked through the last of those meal kits on Sunday. The bright side is that we didn't really have to go to the grocery store for a week and a half or so. And all four of us took turns in making dinner (even my younger son with his one good arm as he's recovering from shoulder surgery)
In order of general consensus voting (from most preferred to least), the meals were:
- Shrimp Fra Diavolo
- Sesame Soy Beef Bowls
- Crispy Chicken with Dijon Brussel Sprouts
- Sweet Ginger Pork Chops with Rice
- Oven Baked Salmon with Broccoli
- Pesto-Ricotta Meatball Flatbread
I've never heard of King Arthur products. I had to look it up. Are you talking about the location in Vermont?Round 2 was pretzel bites (box mix from King Arthur) with a homemade cheese sauce for dipping.
If you are sensing a theme with King Arthur my parents took a day trip there and I got a bag of goodies. It made me say to DH I’d like to take a ride there (I love their cafe for lunch) and he said use the mixes you gave first. Ok!![]()
Yes, they are in VT. I really like their flour which lead down the road of trying their mixes.I've never heard of King Arthur products. I had to look it up. Are you talking about the location in Vermont?
That sounds great. I hope I can remember this, if we make it back to Vermont. As a side note, I'm jealous that those of you in the Northeast can so easily visit different states for day trips. It takes us 5 1/2 hours to get to a different state, with the most direct route. It's much further to get to any other states.Yes, they are in VT. If you are in VT I do recommend their cafe. They are right off 91. It’s things like soup, salads and sandwiches. They make all their bread. Amazing!
They offer cooking classes, it’s on my list. I’d love to take a bread class.
Thanks for the tip. We've been to https://www.vermontcountrystore.com/, but that's about the only store of that type that we've visited in Vermont. Your route sounds like a great day. I hope we can make it back up there soon to give it a try.@tarheelmjfan I never really thought about it but we go on a lot of day and overnight trips in New England. If you have a free day, this is my usual VT food route. I start North and work my way home.
I drive to King Arthur flour do my shopping then we have lunch at the cafe. We then drive to Grafton Cheese. From there we stop at VT country deli. Sometimes we stop at Guilford Store
Sometimes on the ride home we stop for a late lunch. I love Farm Table in Kringle Candle Village in MA, just north of Yankee Candle.
Edit; This route mostly follows 91.
