Now that I'm back to using my computer, I'll try to get caught up. I'll break it up into two posts, because I can get wordy at times.

I think I left off last Thursday night.
Spoiler alert: The weekend was an epic fail for my diet.
Friday, we discover the town we were in had a dueling pianos venue, so we planned our evening around that. On the walk to the venue, we passed by a Wolfgang Puck restaurant. We didn't have dinner plans, so we decided to give it a try. For our app, we shared lettuce wraps. Our entree was half chicken w/ rosemary jus, potato purée & farm market vegetables at the suggestion of our server. Unfortunately, for my diet, we didn't stop there. I noticed a chocolate soufflé w/ caramel ice cream on the dessert menu. That was impossible to resist. We had a glass of 30 year tawny port to enjoy, with the dessert.
Saturday evening, we came back from a day of touring in a different town (Holland, MI) & left the hotel wandering aimlessly. After walking through the downtown area looking for food &/or entertainment that caught our eye, we decided that dueling pianos once again sounded like most fun choice. That led me to Google looking for a restaurant in the area with good reviews. Nothing really caught our eye, so we decided to go back to the same restaurant we had eaten at the night before. Our original plan was to order Halibut the first night, before we were talked out of it. The second time we were determined to order it. (I'm sure you can guess where this is going.)
We started with a mushroom bruschetta app. At the last minute, we chose the Shanghai Noodles entree (wok-fried pork, wheat noodles, stir-fried vegetables & cilantro), instead of the halibut. We'd never tried this dish & are always looking for something new. Somehow, I convinced myself that the ingredients as a whole weren't that bad for me.

Not the best choice. Needless to say, I wasn't even tempted to order dessert, after totally blowing it with the entree. Now, we need to return to Grand Rapids, MI to order the halibut.
