What’s for Dinner Tonight?

DH went fishing with my dad so I was unsupervised and bought all the plants. He looked sort of horrified when he walked to the patio and saw the table covered in plants. 😂

Tonight I’m making chicken piccata with mashed potatoes and honey glazed carrots.

I made my mom an herb planter for Mother’s Day this afternoon. Hoping she likes it.

Not sure about dinner.....again, but we are having a family brunch.
DGD is doing the cooking :yay: We'll be having pancakes, French toast, bacon, sausage, hash browns, eggs, fruit tray, cinnamon coffee cake.
She wants to take orders like in a restaurant. She has toppings for the pancakes and French toast.....blueberries, chocolate chips, bananas, strawberries and whipped cream. Her first time trying this (she is 11). A great baker, but hasn't done much cooking and she wants to learn more. (Her parents don't really cook). DD (her aunt) will be her sous chef.
DGS baked a cake for later. He still needs to get it frosted and decorated.
It will all be here, at my house, because of the pool for later (we will be over 100 degrees today)

DH is going to UMaine's undergrad graduation, which doesn't start until 4. I don't expect he'll be home much before 9. I'm going to cook the loin lamb chops that have been thawed since Friday, but whether or not they are eaten tonight remains to be seen. I also bought 4 fried chicken wings from the hot buffet at the grocery store, which will probably be my dinner.

Happy Mother's Day, everyone!

ETA: Well, surprise, surprise, DH came home- he couldn't find a parking space for graduation! He said it was a madhouse, complete with fender-benders and cars stuck in the mud! Graduations weren't held on campus this year due to construction at the Alfond Arena (where they are usually held) but rather at the Cross Center/Arena in Bangor. It's a huge facility, but apparently the powers that be underestimated the number of folks who'd be going to graduation!

We had the lamb chops- I browned them, then sauteed some sliced onion, shredded carrot, garlic till soft, then put the chops back in to simmer with a good hit of wine, chicken broth (prefer beef, but chicken was open, so...) and a couple dollops of mint jelly. Served with rice and salad (NOT from a bag, first time in ages I've "made" salad). There is enough left over for a whole new meal. I am going to have to get used to "cooking small" again!

Happy Mother’s Day everyone!

I had my parents over for brunch. I made a French toast casserole with croissants with hash brown potato patties, bacon, and fruit salad.

For dinner I’m grilling DH is having a ribeye and I’m having chicken, with Mac and cheese or pasta salad (need to decide) and roasted asparagus. I was able to get asparagus from a local farm and that made my morning!
