What’s for Dinner Tonight?

I am also fighting a cold. I was supposed to meet my cousin for happy hour and was going to bring a pizza home but we rescheduled. DH is fending for himself he grilled a burger, no idea what he had with it. I’m not feeling hungry but will have some toast to have something in me before I take some meds. Hoping I’ll feel better in the morning. Tomorrow is friend’s Thanksgiving and I’m hoping to go.
 
Our weather is rain-windy and filled with wispy steam clouds from the chimneys of the neighboring oil burners.
So spent the day, organizing and re-labeling my pantry goods. The idea is to finish the holiday baking by the first week of December and it seems like we’ll be on track. Also trying to acclimate my home attendant to my way of working in the kitchen which is methodical but not a something everyone follows.

Apparently, in anticipation of avoiding whatever is laying some posters low (Stay well and away from me said with nothing but love 💕 😜 ), I added more garlic sautéed in olive oil to tonight’s veggie fortified garlic soup leftovers. Also a handful of remaining baby spinach leaves. Finishing the half bottle of Champagne tonight for dessert and ordering another to take on vacation; hope the shop still has it since we’re getting close to their busy season.

If you are looking to try something new and local for the holiday season I highly recommend Sparkling Pointe they are on Long Island but I have bought it a liquor stores in NYC. It is where I did the wine and sparkling sampler last weekend.

Trying to downsize groceries/ frig items as we are soon leaving town, so used flour, milk, eggs etc to make crepes.
I’ll be honest… they weren’t the most delicate but they were functional and a treat actually. Spread with a Lingonberry something or other (jam?), so not bad.
 
i am working on clearing stuff out of the freezer to make room for Thanksgiving leftover casseroles and freezer bags of turkey so tonight is salmon. i'm eyeing a big frozen lasagna, some to-go olive garden pasta bowls and some Asian foods to take us through till Thursday.
 
I am torn. I want breakfast for dinner today, but I can’t decide between biscuits and gravy or a cheese omelet with hash browns and biscuits. They both sound good so I am having trouble making up my mind . . .
 
Prepped to make pfferneuse (spice drops) today. Grinded the spices, measured out the other dry ingredients and it’ll be ready for Monday’s work.
Cleaned out the vegetable bin part of the fridge today. Such a good feeling!

Made up a spice brine for pork chops yesterday so put the meat to soak today.
Tonight’s dinner will be quick pickles and kielbasa with some green salad.
If I feel like it I’ll finish the green grapes for dessert.
 
This cold is kicking my butt. I have a sore throat so I had noodles with butter because it’s soft. I’m super bummed because I missed friends thanksgiving but I didn’t want to get anyone sick. DH went and brought the caramel apple cheesecake I made yesterday.

I’m still loading up on Zicam, Mucinex, Vicks, etc. I just hope this darn cough goes away by Thursday.
DD came home from college so we’ve ordered Chinese and pizza for the last two nights. Today we have charcuterie for the football games and I’ll make chicken cutlet sandwiches.
 
I’m trying to clean the fridge before Thanksgiving so I threw together some potatoes, carrots, pepper, and onion together to roast and I’ll cook some chicken breasts over the top once they soften.
