Hi all

Just wanted to know if the whale viewing section is still open as normal and if there is a whale in there all the time or do we need to head there at a certain time to see them? Is the baby in the viewing tank?

Is there still a SW team member there to ask questions too? My DD loves talking to them about the whales?

Thanks
Gems :)

When we were there Thanksgiving Weekend, there were TONS of whales in the viewing area. We did go a bit after the Shamu afternoon show. So not sure if that makes a difference on the numbers. But since we'd eaten ice cream afterwards there weren't tons of people at the viewing area as I'm sure there would be directly after a show

We were there in December and it was still open. Saw posts here on the board that said underwater viewing was closed while they were there recently. They are changing the show so construction may have begun. They may have the viewing closed because of that.

Thank you for your replies, I hope it's open in April when we are there :)

Its closed right now while they prepare to re open Dine With Shamu. I would imagine it would be open by April, I cant see it being down for 4 months.

As of yesterday, it's not only closed, but the pool is drained and full of construction equipment.

I emailed seaworld about this and they responded buy saying itnwont be open until late april early may......hope that helps....

Thanks, that is great info. I do hope that it's open when we go! :) :goodvibes

End April early May would be ok hopefully, I just hope nothing stands in their way to slow things down. I know a little man who would be gutted if it is still shut Gem!
