Today was an early start which was a shock to the system after so many lazy days. It was also quite warm compared to the last few days so I actually braved not wearing 3 layers and stuck with a tshirt and a jacket !!
We pulled up at Universal studios 9am on the dot and the traffic to get in was mad!! We had been to Universal several times in the holiday and today was by far the busiest line of cars we had seen!!
We had arranged to meet Tina (Jets Fan) and her niece Emily at 9am by the hulk - err guess we are running rather late again!!
We did eventually get to the Hulk for around 20 past and Tina came straight over to us declaring "I rode the hulk !!" with a big beaming smile!!
The kids wayne and Emily then dove straight onto the acceltron x ride - Twice !!
We then wondered round the park.Emily was up for anything and I think with the exception of the water rides she managed to acheive riding everything in the park today!!
We walked striaght past all the water rides it had definatly warmed up but noooo way warm enough to get drenched!! So opting out of water rides we walk onto Jurrasic Park - I assured Tina and Emily we had rode it and had no more than a few splashs and we really was ok to ride !!
Well lets just say we didnt just get a few splashs and the drop at the end was by far the quickest I have ever known that boat move !! Luckily everyone was laughing and we were not soaked to the skin so we could carry on!
We know approached Harry Potter land and it appeared every person in the park was here!! We walked through the castle and the ones brave enough to ride forbidden Journey did so !! Emily did declare the spiders were a bit much when she rejoined us.
Then straight onto the flight of the Hippogriff which my kids all love!! I took a pic here and it turned ot to be the only one we took of us together
Cam,Emily and Tina then decided to brave the Dragon challenge it was here that I realised we had lost our guest assistance card we searched every pocket but no good and the attendant on the Hippogriff said they had had it but he couldnt give it us back - translates to I put it in bin !!
So the 3 of them rode dragon challenge whilst we went right back to the front of the park to see if we could get a new card!!
The guy was lovely in Guest services and issued a new one without a problem so another trek back to find the others and we were all set to move on again !!
We saw the Grinch stole christmas show which the kids loved - for me it just lacked some Disney Magic !!
We then all said we were hungry and it was back to the chore of finding something Keira could eat it tuns out it has to be confiscos which seat us quickly enough and give me a gluen free menu. Great I thought!! Our server was super friendly and talked us through the varous options and explained the dishs we were unsure of - it was looking like it could actually be working out.
The wait for food though was ridicolously long. (Im sure Tina would agree!!)
Keira ended up with a plain burger and a bowl of plain noodles - not exactly appetising !! Bless her though she gave it a good go !! The rest of us enjoyed this meal and it was at least a relaxing meal !!
After food Tina & Emily were flagging they had only arrived the evening before and decided they needed to go catch some sleep so we said our see you laters and we left to go and book into the Holiday Inn opposite Maingate.
On the way out Keira ran into a rather large shrimp and insisted on saying Hi and having a picture
Holiday Inn was just fab a speedy check in and and an amazing suite which had ample space for our quick stay.
So we had a quick sit down and then decided we would head back to Islands of Adventure and see if we could do the Seuss landing and other bits we had missed!
We got back into Islands at 5.30 and the park shut at 8pm it was desserted and I have to say a tiny bit chilly but nothing like we had experienced previously!
Islands at night is just amazing we walked straight onto pterdon flyers. I was shocked how quick that ride is and as we came into land I was desperatly trying to motion to the attendant that he shouldnt let Keira go as I didnt think she would like it. He laughed when I said I was woried and he said I bet she comes back and begs for another go !! Sure enough she had a big beaming grin on her face and the first thing she said was "Can I go again??"
We went another 3 times and each time she was begging for more!!
Then back rond to Harry Potter land where I bought a butter beer to try - ewwww I thought it was disgusting. Well the actual thing I said upon tasting it was " Ewww thats the worst thing Ive ever had in my mouth !!"
This seemed to amuse the CM and my hubby immensly ??
The other 5 though it was gorgeous so I think its a real love it or hate it drink. Ive never heard anyone say its just ok !!
Hogwarts at night is so much more impressive than in the day and we did marvel in how much like the film it did look!!
We did ride flight of the Hippogriff another 4 or 5 times here too which was also walk on!!
On exiting the HP land we were directed into a magic show!! Its very much an infomercial but it was very entertaining non the less. The wallet that had real flames coming out of it really impressed my kids. Cam at one point shouted out to the magician that he had dropped his balls on the floor!! Not only had he give the trick away but poor choice of words !! We were howling whilst also trying to shhhh him!!
As we exited here we realised it was 7.30 and we had to let Keira do the Cat in the Hat ride as we had promised earlier in the day we would come back to it but never had!!
As we were leaving the park at closing time we took a snap across the lake to remind us how wonderful it all looks lit up at night!!
We got back to the holiday Inn and literally fell asleep within the hour !!
