A Magical End to a Magical Day!

n25002324_31374754_281.jpg

We had just a little time left to enjoy Epcot, so we had to take in all the beautiful Christmas decorations! What a wonderful day we had! :) I found my favorite Christmas display again that I have now called, "Peace." Here's the night shot I took of it, but I didn't get the dove in this angle because I wanted to get Spaceship Earth in the photo! Isn't it so pretty!? :goodvibes

n25002324_31374755_566.jpg

This is one of my favorite things at Epcot! DH and I spent about 15 minutes running and jumping to make the ground light-up! :rotfl2: He didn't believe me when I told him I was making it light-up when I stood on it! He was in awe!! :rotfl:

n25002324_31374756_3785.jpg

n25002324_31374757_1169.jpg

We had waited ALL day to "Leave a Legacy" at Epcot! We really wanted to do it during our Disneymoon, but never got around it. DH was determined to do it on this trip! We were too busy in the morning, so we decided it would be a great way to end the day at Epcot! We went and got our picture taken and we'll soon be at Epcot ALL the time! :teeth: Oh, I can't wait to see it! I'm pretty sure they said it would be up in about 6 months and they will be sending us our information in the mail soon, so we can locate it! Yay! :yay:

We made our way back to All-Star Sports and we were glad we got in a little earlier than the night before because we had to pack! We had to check-out in the morning and pack our car with our luggage by 10:00am because our realtor would be arriving to pick us up at All-Star Sports to go house hunting! We would be checking into Port Orleans-French Quarter when we got back! :woohoo: I decided we needed to get some snacks before we got back to our room and I did promise tinkerbell87512 that I would have a Mickey Ice Cream Bar! ;) :mickeybar

n25002324_31374758_1465.jpg

I DID say that I was sure the Boys would want to try the Mickey Ice Cream Bar too and they sure did LOVE it! :mickeybar Yum! Yum! ::MickeyMo :hyper2: Chip 'n Dale each got an ear! :rotfl: It was a bad idea though to give them all that chocolate before bed time! :rotfl2:

It's pretty warm down here in NC too, but it is cooling off. We had some rain today and it's finally getting chilly again! Just in time for Christmas! :santa:
Here's a Mickey Ice Cream Bar for you! :mickeybar I hope it'll be good enough to tide you over! ;)

Day 4

Post 26
Welcome to New Orleans!

I won't go into detail of our LONG day looking and searching for what we would eventually call our home. I will say that we did not find it on this day and we did not like any house we saw! :rotfl2: We were beat and so ready to call it a day! So, let's just start the day with the Disney fun!

Our realtor, Michele, who is totally awesome by the way, dropped us back off at "The Doom Bugy," which was still parked at All-Star Sports, so we could make our way over to Port Orleans-French Quarter! Oh, and I also have to tell you that we did get the windshield fixed on "The Doom Bugy"! Yay! :yay: I'm so happy it is back and looking good! :cool1:

We couldn't wait to get to the new resort! I knew it would be beautiful and couldn't wait to spend three nights here! We'd actually have time to just enjoy the resort too, which is rare on a WDW vacation. :goodvibes

n25002324_31374922_5772.jpg

I had heard wonderful reviews about Port Orleans and chose the French Quarter because I thought the rooms looked so beautiful on the website! We arrived when the sun was just going down and I was so glad to have a free night just to relax! I knew we'd be up early the next morning to start our house search once again!

Port Orleans-French Quarter was just gorgeous! It is at the top of my list now as one of the best resorts and it's a moderate! ;) We decided to splurge and go with a moderate for half of our trip because we were there during the "Value Season" now because Thanksgiving was over and it wasn't close enough to Christmas yet, but we still got all the amazing decorations!

n25002324_31374925_6776.jpg

n25002324_31374927_7329.jpg

We checked-in and made our way to our room! We lucked out and got an amazing room on the bottom floor on the corner, so we got two large windows! I wish I had known how big the windows were and that we would have two because I would have brought a lot more DIS decorations!! :rotfl2:

n25002324_31374936_9852.jpg

n25002324_31374938_387.jpg

Our room was amazing! I couldn't believe how nice and big it was! The bathroom by far was my favorite part! I couldn't believe how large it was and the amount of storage space we had! We also had a nice sitting area by the two windows, which was just perfect with a wonderful view! DH & I were very impressed! :thumbsup2

n25002324_31374932_8713.jpg

We also found many hidden Mickeys in our room! Here are a few that we noticed right away!! ::MickeyMo

n25002324_31374943_1742.jpg

I started unpacking our bags and the first thing I had to do was decorate our windows, DIS style, of course! :thumbsup2 The Boys were so excited about helping me decorate the windows! Chip 'n Dale decided they wanted to play in the window and wave to everyone walking by them! :hyper2:

Mardi Gras!

I am very upset to hear about The DIS board going down for maybe 48 hours! Ahhhhhh! :scared1: I don't know what I'm going to do without The DIS! The main problem is I planned on beginning my report on Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party before Christmas and start my reporting on it this weekend! Now, this just blows my DIS plans! :rotfl2: I'm going to try my best to report a little fast and maybe get as much in as I can before The DIS goes down! I wonder if it'll be back up and running by Christmas!? I have a lot of plans this weekend, as I'm sure all of you do too, but I was still going to make some time to spend with my DIS'ers! Here it goes! Time for a double post! :thumbsup2

DH & I decided it was time to go explore the French Quarter and grab some dinner! We were STARVING! The Boys decided to stay in the room and continue to wave to everyone that passed our window. It obviously worked too because I know some DIS'ers saw them! :wave2: I know it made them very happy!

The resort grounds were so beautiful and they even had a hot tub that was steaming in the cool air. I really wish we had brought our bathing suits when I saw that, but it was a little too chilly to actually go swimming for us. It didn't stop the kids though, of course!

n25002324_31374945_2518.jpg

n25002324_31374948_3426.jpg

The pool at Port Orleans-FQ is amazing! It is by far the coolest water slide I have ever seen! I'd love to slide down a sea serpent's tongue! :rotfl2:

n25002324_31374954_5118.jpg

n25002324_31374951_4240.jpg

n25002324_31374956_5677.jpg

It was time to get some food, so we made our way over to Sassagoula Floatworks and Food Factor, which is right across from the lobby.

n25002324_31374957_5961.jpg

It was such a neat food court and totally had the Mardi Gras vibe with huge floats hanging from the ceiling. I even got a pair of Mardi Gras beads from one of the CM's after I placed my food order! :yay:

n25002324_31374960_6846.jpg

I decided to get the Kid's Macaroni 'n Cheese, which was so yummy! I also got Dirt & Worms! The best dessert ever! :rotfl2: DH's food looked pretty good too!

n25002324_31374961_7127.jpg

n25002324_31374963_7667.jpg

n25002324_31374962_7395.jpg

We enjoyed sitting back and relaxing, while we at our dinner. There was a huge TV in the dining area too, so we watched the Disney Channel for awhile before we headed back to our room. DH decided that we needed to get some treats to eat in our room before we went bed. DH is obsessed with chocolate ice cream, so I knew what he'd be ordering! :goodvibes

n25002324_31374964_7949.jpg

I saw that they served beignets that totally go with the New Orleans vibe and I knew what I had to have them! I got in line to place my order and got my beignets covered in powdered sugar! I was on my way over to DH holding a cup of hot chocolate and my beignets and some man accidently elbowed me in my arm with the beignets. The powdered sugar went flying everywhere and all over me! The man's wife gave him the most evil look after he apologized to me. :rotfl2: I almost lost my beignets!! It is the messiest food ever, but so worth it! :goodvibes

Hi Fairy Tale Bride :wave2:

Still loving your trippie and I can't wait to read the rest. As Dis is going down and I don't know when I'll next be online due to the Holidays I just wanted to wish you and your DH a wonderful Christmas and I hope the New Year finds you happy and well. Good luck with the move, I'll be thinking of you :grouphug:

I'm glad you loved POFQ as much as I did. I have such good memories from there. It was where DF proposed. :cloud9: Right along the river as you walk towards POR there's a bench that we sat on to relax and watch the moonlight flicker off the water and he surprised me with the ring.

Now I'm SO excited to go back. I think what I like most is that the resort is smaller than others. It just has this cozy feeling.

Another fantastic installment :thumbsup2 . I don't know what I'm going to do when the DIS goes down temporarily. The very first thing I do in the morning is to log on and read your latest installment. I'll be going through withdrawl on the first day. :guilty:

LOVE your trippie   WHat's this about the DIS being down??? 4 days before we leave for WDW???? Perhaps I'll get the family packed then! :teeth:

I can't believe anyone would wonder why the boys got a little end-of-the-day treat. Here I was saying to myself "don't they look cute" and grinning the whole time. As a mother of older children....you might want to have the boys change into play clothes before eating an icecream bar popcorn::

We always stay at PO Riverside and I must say we've never ventured over to the 'other side'. We will be at POR Tuesday morning! :cheer2: :cheer2: Not that I'm excited or anything :cheer2: :cheer2: We've put the Disney Visa meet and greet on our agenda. Won't my big boys be happy with that? ;) They all know they'd better humor mom - the planner of all Disney trips!

Off to put my pal Mickey by the luggage. He may need a new outfit or two once we get there. I told him I'd take him shopping as it's hard to find his size here in Michigan.

Teresa

Hi  I'm loving the pictures of POFQ because we are staying there for our wedding PS trip in January and we haven't stayed there since 1994 (before the remodel.) We (meaning I forced my mother) decided to have my fiance, myself, my mom, and my sister all stay in the same room to save money since we'll only be there for 4 nights. Do you think we'll be ok room size wise? Would you say there is room in the sitting area for a full size Aero bed? Thanks for the great reports and have a WONDERFUL first Christmas with your husband!!

whoa boy the list isnt very long but its getting longer every day. This is just a little bit:
Cirque Du Soleil (my ticket just came yesterda :cheer2: )
The phones on main st (the ones where u can hear others convos)
Dole whip
Keys to the Kingdom tour
lots of resort hopping!
Plus everything ive already mentioned to you lol
and now im adding those beignets to the list too. lol what is in them they look soooo good and i want them now! That picture of you eating one just shows how messy they are because u can see the powder sugar flying.

I must say that POFQ is beautiful! I love the huge windows the whole resort just looks awesome. I hope a disney visa code comes out for my trip because i want to upgrade to a moderate resort and its between this one and Coronado springs

ohhh and i love your decorated window its so cute! :cheer2:

I've been catching back up on your trippie--I love it!! As for "why are we feeding stuffed animals"--doesn't everyone do that???? :teeth:

Thanks for the pics of POFQ--it looks beautiful!! I think DH & I need to stay there sometime! Your trippie ROCKS!! :cheer2:

I just got back from WDW yesterday and I already miss it :teeth: It was so much fun to catch up on your TR! I have to agree, all the decorations at WS are just so magical and totally put you in the Christmas spirit :goodvibes Also, I think I stayed in the same room as you at POFQ in August! Was it room 7140? That view looks really familiar!!
