We've Bounced Back like Tigger SB09 TR NEW 9/11 CLOSING TIME....

A whistle, a girl, a soccer ball and a net….

We got over to Italy and right up front was the Lady and Tramp thing, but as we were getting ready to pose the kids in front, we started to hear some fun Italian like music over the PA, and a whistle blowing. Then from around the corner comes this extravagantly dressed Dude blowing a whistle and pulling some little boat (I think a gondola). He was getting ready for a show. It ended up being Sergio the international interactive juggler. So we thought well let’s wait and check this out.

After placing a yellow rope around and the crowd started to gather, he began. First he juggled some umbrellas and then some soccer balls, which he proceeded to toss into the audience at people and whistled to have them toss them back to him, as he’d catch them in this big basket like net. Michael got one and tossed it back and then he tried to get Margaret to do it, even offering her a small version of a soccer ball. But no go she was too shy.

100_2771.jpg

100_2772.jpg

After showing off for a few minutes and joking around w/ some guest in the crowd he came back over by us and pulled Aldine out onto his “stage”. Now I just thought she’d help w/ a small bit and come back, but she ended up being in the whole rest of the show. A good 10 minutes or so. It was so fun and she had such a blast what an AWESOME memory for her and us!

100_2774.jpg

100_2776.jpg

100_2781.jpg

100_2780.jpg

From running to catch a ball, holding the net and catching balls, handing him balls to juggle, and pretend juggling herself

100_2779.jpg

You should have seen the expression on her face, just giggling w/ pure joy! :rotfl: She was smiling and laughing and have a great time.

It was wonderful Disney Magic.

The end of the show he whistled to her to run toward the back of the square in the pavilion and he was going to throw a small soccer ball to her and she was to catch it in the net.

100_2782.jpg

100_2785.jpg

Everyone stood, watched and turned around in anticipation to see if she could do it. After 3 tries and no luck, he whistled her back to him and he tossed the ball in the net w/ her standing next to him.

100_2786.jpg

He then had everyone applaud her efforts and had her take a bow, and then he whistled her to go back behind the rope. She was giggling so much she didn’t quite know what he meant and we had to shout out to her to come back.

It was so funny. I couldn’t believe what luck we had and how she got picked like that to be part of this special moment!

I video-taped the whole bit and hope soon to have DH convert it over so I can get a digital video of it to share, it’s so cute to watch. I’d also be curious if any Disers were there that day watching Aldine…now that would be COOL!

***note, he still needs to pull out the software...so I'm not sure if and when I'll be able to share the video's but if not this TR...I can hopefully share it when I start a new PTR sometime late this yr or begining of next for the Nov. '10 trip :goodvibes

When the crowd departed we got those pictures I had wanted and the original reason we headed back this way.

100_2787.jpg

Next we headed back and entered Japan, this is another one of my favorite pavilions but never seem to have enough time to see all the small magical touches everywhere, something I hope to remedy in future trips...

Josefina posed for a few pictures:

100_2794.jpg

100_2795.jpg

we walked to the back and headed into the tin toy museum. I don't think I had ever been through here except to get a tag for the WS masks...so it was nice to spend a few more minutes looking around at everything. DH enjoyed it as he has a fondness for old toys like this. Here are several pictures that he took:

100_2796.jpg

100_2797.jpg

100_2806.jpg

Michael enjoyed it too, especially some little video that had one of the PIXAR directors talking about his love for toys and how they inspired him. Have you ever seen a quirky little move called Where the Toys Come From?

Michael has always liked that movie...this museum reminded me of it.

If memory serve me correctly, I think Margaret may have dozed off in the stroller about now and as Michael was watching this little video, DH headed out to peak in the gift shop back here, as well while I was sitting here I noticed a little hanging bin w/ Epcot maps in it, not only did they have the usual “english” version we are used too, but one printed in Japanese:

100_3953.jpg

100_3951.jpg

so I grabbed one as a souvenir, it also made me curious as to do the other countries have any like this (China, Germany, Norway, etc) going to make a point to look next yr!

Next we headed over to the UK, my Mom's favorite pavilion and we missed this area during the 08 trip. As we crossed the bridge and glanced down by the International Gateway, we saw Alice and Mary Poppins down there greeting guests, wonder if they were on their way to the same place as us?

We walked thru the tea garden and had a little fun w/ our own Alice

100_2812.jpg

Some nearby guests laughed as they got a kick out of what we were doing. Then my Dad spotted a bed of pansies....could this be any cuter?

100_2815.jpg

Don't be mean to Alice, she's a curious little girl, not a weed!

Next we went into the Toy gift shop. I was really hoping to purchase those nice Mary Poppins books I had spotted on our last day of the 08 trip, that I didn't have time to check out better or buy then. But after not seeing them and then talking to a few CM's in the store, they determined they no longer carried them...what a bummer. OH well I guess there is always Ebay...

But as we were looking around and chatting w/ another guest who's little daughter was bear hugging a huge Eeyore Plush and dressed in a cute Alice dress....I splurged on a last minute buy for Mae:

100_2941.jpg

Do you like PracPerfPatricia ?

It was too cute to pass up, I had looked at these dresses last fall on the disneystore online, but they didn't have a size that would work. So I bought her 1 size up from what would fit her now so we could save it for Halloween and then Disney! She'll be such a cute Alice w/ curly blond hair.

We now started to meander out of the park as we passed Carissa's fav kilt wearing band, it started to lightly drizzle.

100_2810.jpg

Look how bright SSE looks...

We stopped along the path so I could pull the ponchos toward the top of the stroller just in case in picked up to a steady drizzle or rain. I really hoped we wouldn't need them!

Or would we? :confused3

Up NEXT: The end of Day 7) and my last minute shopping spreee and snack credit splurge!

thanks for reading as always,

Scrappie (J-)

Awww - what fun and I love the dress!

Thank goodness little boys clothes get Old Man like at around 5 or we would be broke! I couldn't imagine all the princess dresses that would be in the closet if we had a girl:cutie:

my own China doll....

She wore it several times to church after we were home. Margaret has yet to wear it, but hopefully this fall...it probably will be too small for next years trip, but it would be the cutest picture to have her in that in China and hey maybe w/ Mulan :cutie:

That is simply too cute to be legal...:goodvibes-Can you hear me squealing from Pennsylvania?

What a great moment in Italy for Aldine-and all of you...she is simply glowing:rotfl2:...We've never watched the show in Italy and Sergio looks really entertaining...

great photo of the girls in front of Lady and the Tramp...

I love the Japan pavilion too-first it is simply lovely and secondly-there are so many corners in there that you are always seeing something new...

David is really into bots and robots (as is DH...:lmao:) now-so we will definately have to check those out again as well as the movie-I don't remember that:confused3...

David will also love having a Japanese map/guide-he wants to visit Japan-I have no idea where this came from...so the Japanese pavilion will be a huge hit with him...

I love the UK pavilion too...:cloud9:...sentimental favorite...

I wouldn't mind hanging out like Alice in the pansies or are those violas...either way-don't you ever have days were hiding out in the flowers watching the world go by wouldn't be such a bad way of spending the day...?

2nd squeal from Pennsylvania-that Alice dress is absolutely gorgeous...:yay:
Mae is going to be the cutest Alice-you are going to have to take photos-you know that-right...:rolleyes1-That really is a beautiful dress-I would have so had Emily in that back some years...

great update...

looking forward to more...popcorn::

What a WONDERFUL experience for Aldine and your family. She looks so happy. Out of all the people there, she got to be the special one. :cloud9: That is Disney Magic for you. I'm so glad you got it on tape!

I love the Japan Pavillion too. I could look around there for hours.

The Alice pictures were a great idea. I love her standing in front of the teacup and in the flowers. You are so creative.

I'm sure Mae is going to be the perfect Alice. I can't wait to see the pics...eventually.

I'm thankful, budget-wise, that I have boys, but sometimes I do wish I had a girl to dress up.

I hope it doesn't RAIN on you!!!

MY MULTI-QOUTE BUTTON IS WORKING.....

So today Aldine and I finished her little American Girl Tours WDW Scrap Album :cool1:

We had fun doing it and I think it turned out really cute too. We decided to make it a progressive album and be able to include future doll's trips!

I didn't have to buy anything for this little project either. I had a spare 8 x 8 album, which I'll need to wrap the cover though to make it more Disney-ish or trave-ish. and we used papers and stickers from my plentiful Disney stock :thumbsup2

Her she is w/ her book and a few completed pages. All in all we did 11 pages (I did 3)...sorry a few shots came out blury, but you get the idea.

where is everyone....:confused3

you don't need to clean the toliets or do that laundry....come out and play....

please......;)

Scrappie

next post coming soon! only a few left to go....:sad1:

I"m here!! I admit I was doing laundry - so sad on a sunny Friday:sad2:. How exciting that Aldine got to be part of a show, she'll have that memory forever! Her scrapbook is adorable, that little Josephina sure had alot of fun. Looking forward to the next update!:goodvibes

Same here. Doing laundry. School started, and I'm trying to get a routine down. Honestly, I clearly neglected my house this summer with the amount of work I can see needs to be done now. Oh well.:)

Can't wait to read more. Doesn't it melt your heart to see your child get chosen to do something, and watch them be so happy? Looks like Aldine had fun!

Ok I admit I was feeling loney...though in two weeks school begins for us here too and it will be just Margaret and I home...I will need my Diz buzz for the company more than ever. :grouphug:

I'll be sure to tell Aldine you thought her book was adorbable...she'll get the biggest kick out of that and yes it was so wonderful to see her have this wonderful magical moment...she deserves it :goodvibes

Cont: of Day 7) Rain? and our last night in WDW...

So I last left you w/ a bit of a drizzle coming down, it wasn't quite enough to necessitate the ponchos yet, but my Mom figured better be dry and prepared then fuddling w/ a poncho and get wet later...

I was trying to remain optimistic here...but sure enough that drizzle became some steady rain which eventually became an enormous down pour!:umbrella:

Luckily as we were traveling down some path into FW, there was an umbrella by a bench so we stopped for cover under this and I passed out the ponchos to the girls and Matt got Margaret covered up in her stroller, Michael didn't want one on cause he didn't think it was raining hard enough and it didn't help that his Dad wasn't wearing one … :headache:

but by the time we made our way over to SSE, it was really raining hard now and I insisted he put one on!

Luckily we were basically done for the day at Epcot, so the rain was not a huge burden at this point. DH needed to run into MouseGear to pick up our WDW-Mickey duffle so the rest of maintained shelter near the stroller rental while my Mom returned the ECV she had rented. It was coming down in buckets now and you could see the poor people running into the park that probably just arrived, they were so soaked a poncho couldn't even help them now...

Makes one wonder though...does it ever occur to the general public that Florida = Rain which = poncho...:confused3

Matt got back w/ a huge Disney bag carefully keeping our new duffle bag dry plus he shared two new treasures he decided to get too...

100_2969.jpg

so it turned out that our other purchase had qualified us for these watches too... He bought the adult sized one for himself and then the kid’s size one for me...kinda sweet huh? :love2:

I haven't worn a watch in years so it feels quite odd on my wrist so for now I have it clasped around the strap on my purse.

I got everything re-organized under the stroller to try and keep everything dry while Matt better secured the poncho on the stroller and they we dived out into the rain and headed toward the bus stops...luckily by now it started to slow down and when we made it over to the stop it had stopped raining...

There was only one other family waiting at the stop w/ us. We took off our ponchos and shook them out while we waited for the bus to arrive I think roughly 10 minutes. I also believe it was about 4 pm now.

The bus picked us up and I think we made one stop at BB on the way back to CSR. Once back at the resort, we stopped in Panchitos and picked up a few held packages and then re-grouped back in the rooms.

After a rest and straightening up more things we went down to the Pepper Mart to get dinner, before we left Aldine had lost a tooth :teeth:. (DH tired to obtain a note from a cast member or maybe a card from Tink for us to leave w/ her money from the tooth fairy :tinker: for the next morning, but unfortunately it didn't pan out...oh well)

I don't have written down what we all got to eat, but I did note that I had the special dinner menu option of the grilled chicken and shrimp w/ rice. It was nice but certainly not worth the price if paying OOP. I was still hungry and my Dad had some leftover pizza so I had a piece of that too.

We then headed over to the Dig Site Pool again (after changing into our suits of course ;)) to swim and have some fun since the sun :beach: had come back out again! While we were there I chatted w/ Mom a bit about the possible DVC purchase and asked her opinion on what she thought, etc. As we were chatting a guest talked to me about himself being a member...

I think we swam and played for a little over an hour, it was a little chilly :cold: for me, but fine if you were completely in the water. The older kids had a great time going on the water slide again and Mae was a little more adventurous this time. Margaret and I hung out by the kiddie pool (really 1 inch of water w/ a sprayer in the middle) and she sorta played w/ a couple other little kids and I chatted w/ a few guests. Plus some little girl asked if she could take my picture....I'm famous I guess...:cool2:

The sun was starting to set behind the trees so I was rallying up the troops to go and we went over to the arcade to use up our 30 minute freebie from our package...it was good timing too, because something (i.e. BF) got in the pool I think and they had everyone getting out and had to shut it [pool] down most likely for the night...euw!

I stayed w/ Matt and the kids for a little bit, but since there wasn't much that Margaret could do I took her and we walked back to the room.

I got her and I washed up and changed before Matt got back w/ the kids and after they were cleaned up and changed we headed back over to Panchitos ::yes:: for some last minute souvenir shopping and use up some more of our remaining snack credits. I can’t remember if we all went or just me and a few kids now….?

But Mae used her G/C from us to buy a set of Princess shaped crayons (which since home most have suffered chopped heads ) and a Marie washcloth.

100_2949.jpg

Aldine w/ the remainder of her money got a small plush Eeyore keychain to hang on her backpack and another Tink pin, which actually ended up being more money than she had (I guess I should have counted it and the balance on her g/c…oh well.

100_2952-1.jpg

Plus I got our niece who was recovering from knee surgery at the time a Lego Cinderella Castle w/ Mickey Mouse….she’s in her twenties but has a huge thing for Lego’s…she loved it!

With the remaining snack credits I picked up 5 or 6 (can’t remember now) small bags of Chip & Dale Snack Co. snacks for us at the airport the next day before we leave.

Back in the room, I finished organizing our things into the suitcases :faint: for checkout the next morning (I didn’t want to waste part of our last day in the parks packing…kwim) As I was working, DH had gotten all the kids in bed so we finished up the stuff in the sink area with the curtain drawn as to not disturb them….and I kinda felt like the Wizard in Oz…”what are you doing behind that curtain?”

In the few moments we could steal away, Matt and I did discuss the DVC purchase and decided to do it… :woohoo: (as you read in a previous post). Well it was now time to go to bed before our last day w/ Mickey.:mickeyjum

Thanks for reading,

I had a doctor's appt. this morning...sigh...routine stuff...but I am not a huge fan of going to the doctors-I think I'm slightly phobic...

a little later Emily had a friend over while I was trying to pack...cute friend and David decided he needed to regale her with every bit of Disney trivia he knows...(which is surprisingly a lot...:confused3-I didn't know how much he knew-I guess its one of his new special interests...) and then he had to show me all the new magic tricks he's learned with one of his birthday gifts...:confused3...I just wanted to pack...but he clearly had the need to talk (a lot...)

Ok that was cranky-sorry-I would much rather have been playing...

This is so cute-the album and Aldine-you have a mini me-I mean a mini you-how cute!!!:goodvibes

(I like how you had Josefina or rather Aldine has Josefina travel the world-I'm going to -mmm-what's the word-"borrow" the idea and have Jedi Mickey travel the world for David...;)-You know that imitation is the sincerest form of flattery...:lmao:

The watch is great-I love Mouse Gears-they have such a great selection and I find it easy to shop in there-Main Street is fun to look-but Mouse Gears is easier to actually shop in...

Poor Decapitated Princess Crayons...:lmao:-sorry its a little funny...

Last Day-Bring it...popcorn::

I LOVE Aldine's album. I'm so excited for her! Another thing for her to look forward to in '10!

I'm glad it didn't rain on you too long in EPCOT. Those watches are cool. I'm liking all these "get this if you spend that" things that I'm hearing about. Hope they still have some of them.

The pool is a great relaxing way to spend your last night.

I'm looking forward to hearing about your last day (though I'm sorry your trip is coming to an end)!

I know those moments...Michael's big thing is lists...he had several small notebooks and pads that he just write lists in...types of jewerly, fancy cars, Disney villians, monster food, candy, characters from movies, shows etc. He always wants to look up stuff on the computer or flips through the children's dictionary....it spars interesting conversations...:goodvibes

Ok that was cranky-sorry-I would much rather have been playing...

no worries I have been super cranky lately :guilty:

I LOVE Aldine's album. I'm so excited for her! Another thing for her to look forward to in '10!

thanks I'll b sure to tell her. She already wants to bring her mini Felicity doll and she is from Colonial American times....Liberty Square here we come!

I'm glad it didn't rain on you too long in EPCOT.

yes me too...and especially since it was at the end of our touring anyways...it wasn't a huge bummer.

Those watches are cool. I'm liking all these "get this if you spend that" things that I'm hearing about. Hope they still have some of them.

I think they have new things offered all the time! :thumbsup2 and don't quote me but I think you can use several reciepts at once to obtain that certian purchase price to buy the extra thing, but probably same store...so like your resort gift shop would work....

The pool is a great relaxing way to spend your last night.

yes it worked out really great!

I'm looking forward to hearing about your last day (though I'm sorry your trip is coming to an end)!

me too....:sad1:

Hi Scrappie-Do! I have been reading along but every time I got to post a comment one of the kids needs something (Danica) or is getting INTO something (Liam).

I love that you and Matt hide behind the curtain to talk. I wonder if John and I will do that when the kids are older....???

By the way....I don't want your TR to end! Can't you go back sooner? Didn't you get any Developer points that have to be used this year?

What a wonderful experience for Aldine with Sergei the Juggler!! (is that his name??) :goodvibes

Thanks for the shout out!! :rotfl:

Love the watch - very cool. Sounds like a lovely last evening at WDW, but sad your trip is almost over. :(
