Westjet or Air Canada

We took WestJet as it was a direct flight to and from Orlando. They were great. On time. No delays and everything went pretty smoothly.

I'm flying with Westjet because I have their Elite Mastercard which makes what would usually be a $2000 flight for the two of us, $900. Can't beat that. Even if I didn't have their card I'd probably still fly with them since Air Canada has no one stop flights from our city.

This thread made me go have a look at flights again to compare cost. I booked our flights in early April for our Christmas trip. The same flight is now just over $1100 more for the 4 of us compared to what I paid in April. I guess booking early really paid off. We're flying Westjet.

Your post made me do the same. Our 2 seats in WestJet Plus have gone up over $1300 (total) since we booked in early March for our Nov/Dec trip.

That's insane. I stopped flying Westjet since we usually go over March break and it is so much cheaper driving across the border and taking Delta, but didn't want the hassle of driving at Christmas. If I hadn't booked the flight already, we probably would not be going at the current price of flights.

I will note that the normal economy seats have not gone up nearly as much; but on the one leg almost half the Plus seats are sold, so they are at a higher "tier" in pricing now... but we prefer Plus and it works out much better for us.

I booked our flights with WestJet as soon as they were posted for our November trip. Our flights have gone up over $1800 for the five of us. I'm glad I bought our tickets when I did!
