Seattle Travel

I've read that Seattle has an attraction similar to Soarin', called Wings over Washington. To any Seattle locals who have visited that attraction, how safe or unsafe is its neighborhood?
I was there years ago and if I remember correctly it was right by the big wheel or near it unless it has moved. I would suggest the wheel, boat ride, and zoo. And a Mariners game if they are in town. We felt totally safe walking around most places but it was a long time ago.

Very easy to take the light rail from the airport to downtown. Kind of annoying that you need to walk to the far edge of the parking garage to get there, but you'll be fine with light luggage.

The Pinball Museum and food in Chinatown were both great. Pike Street just east of I-5 has a lot of good restaurants too. La Parisienne French Bakery is fantastic.

Oh then you should feel pretty comfy in Seattle! Btw, I used to live in Fairfield!

i'm on the eastern side of the state but we last lived in Dixon! btw-i just heard the other day that anheiser busch is leaving fairfield, that's got to be a nasty hit to the local economy :(

Seattle is a lot like Santa Cruz with rain

I miss santa cruz, I went every summer as a kid. the big dipper, the carousel-and before the earthquake destroyed it some of the older attractions at the far end of the boardwalk.

That attraction is not worth it. It costs more than an LL for Tron or Guardian. It's on the waterfront sorta attached to an arcade, basically a crappy tourist trap. The whole DT/waterfront area, it's not unsafe but just like visiting any major city, you wanna be cautious. Also depends on where you're from, if you're from high crimes cities like Baltimore or Oakland, you'll think Seattle is very safe and vice versa if you're from a small town where it's pretty quiet, you might think DT Seattle is unsafe.

Oh really? Yeah I bet there are a lot of people been working there forever. Wonder where they are relocating it to then.

La Parisienne French Bakery is fantastic.
I do like that bakery :thumbsup2 Macrina is also nearby, another one of my favorites.

OP - You might get recommedation for La Panier bakery at Pike Place but personally, I don't think anything is good there. They are always rated one of the top bakeries and I have no idea why! I had given them a few tries, but nope...I can't recommend it to anyone.
