It is a new, high rise section of the original Westgate (Villas). So named because it sits very close to the entrance road (gate) on the west side of DW. It is still over 5 miles to the MK due to the indirect routing they force you to take. It's very close for off site.
The units themselves are typical high rise condos. We prefer the 1-3 story style buildings rather than a high rise as they seem to "fit" the FL area better. But the highrises are new and well featured so that isn't a problem. You also get access to the rest of the Westgate features so there is plenty to do on site.
The downside. This is a Westgate property. They will do ANYTHING to get you into a sales presentation. They will cajole, glad hand, threaten, create false "surveys", maintenance meetings - you name it they will say it to get you into the sales room. Once there you'll find the lies that got you in are nothing compared to the half truths they will spew under ever increasing pressure to buy. Unless you enjoy playing them and can resist the very hard sell don't go to any meeting. We usually agree to a meeting but always on our last day (or even the day after- they usually don't check) for after the 10AM checkout time. We also unplug the phones as we don't want 7-9AM or 10-11:30PM calls to "remind" us to attend or begging us to come. We do get a laugh out of the desperate messages they leave over the week. And we enjoy the thought of them calling us at 10:30 on the appointed day as we are driving to our next stop. Hey, we saved ourselves and some other poor suckers a 2 to 3+ hour pressure packed sales pitch! They deserve to be had. These are the worst of a bad breed - timeshare sellers. Avoid them and you'll have a great time. If you take a deal for cheap rentals and are required to attend then be strong and remember you can buy for $.25 or less on the retail dollar at any timeshare. Most likely $.10 or less on the price they quote. Don't ever buy from Westgate direct. Even if you like it buy resale.
