I currently have six nights booked for a preferred room at CBR at WDW and then two nights at RPR over at Universal, both under an AP discount (Oct 27th-Nov 4th). The CBR ressie is a ticketless pkg, because we have the DDP added to it, so if we cancel would be subject to penalty fees.
Anyway, a coworker just called me and asked if I had any WDW trips planned in the next month or two, because she had time share weeks she was going to lose if they weren't used by the end of the year. She offered me 7 nights at Westgate for $400.00. I have never stayed off property. I know we'd have to rent a car, would lose the DDP, and would also have to pay a $200.00 penalty to Disney for canceling within the 45 day limits, (not sure what Universal would charge penalty for canceling one night at RPR). Where is Westgate timeshare exactly? She said they've only stayed there once (usually go to Colorado or Vegas), but she thought it was about 6 miles from WDW. When I tried to look it up online, there are several Westgate properties in Orlando. Does anyone know which are the timeshare ones and which one might be 6 miles from WDW? Would you do it, if she can even get us a unit this late (two weeks from today is our arrival date)? With paying Disney's penalty for canceling, it would be $600.00 for the seven nights.

So I'm happy!
