Westgate Time Share?

I would love, love to hear what you have to say about Town Center when you return. I am heading there for 2 weeks in March. If you could also let me know what the resort fee all includes, and how much the Wifi is, I would be elated!

OK, we just got back late last night from Westgate Town Center. We had the opposite experience of alot of people I guess. We were in building 5900 in a wonderful one bedroom that was spotless (no paint chipping, scratches, marks on floors or walls, jacuzzi tub and also shower both very clean, not a spot of dust anywhere). The King bed was fairly comfortable, but the queen sofa bed was not, according to my mom. Everyone we met was very friendly and helpful. When we checked in last Saturday, the lady checking us in took us over to another lady, who showed us the VIP card for owners (we were renting from an owner). She mentioned a welcome breakfast she could schedule us for and after the breakfast said we would get the VIP card, which would entitle us unlimited use of the amenities (mini golf, paddle boats, gym, etc). I told her we were not interested. She asked us only one time if we were sure, then said 'no problem', and never mentioned it again. I was afraid the guy that escorted us to the unit, might try to pressure us, but he never said a word, nor did anyone else during the week. We didn't meet a single high pressure salesman and after checking in, nothing was even mentioned to us about buying in.

We were assigned a unit on a lower floor, but I asked if we could be moved to a higher floor and we were placed in building 5900 just a few doors down from the elevator. We never heard a sound though the entire week. Our balcony faced a courtyard that had ducks wandering around every morning, but if you glanced to the right you saw pool #14 and if you glanced to the left you saw the lake with the bridge over it. It was a perfect location. We'd definitely return. The unit and the grounds were both spotless and everyone was just as nice and helpful as they could be (just make sure to let them know you are not going to attend that welcome breakfast where they try to get you to buy in--be polite, but firm).

I just went online and checked my credit card activity. They did ask to have a credit card on file at check in, but it was never charged anything, so we did not have to pay the resort fee. I spoke to my friend that rented me the unit and she said she didn't think I'd have to pay it, as they never had.

Sorry, but I forgot to ask about wifi, as we didn't need it. Also we did not use the mini golf or paddle boats, so I can't tell you anything about them either. Sorry!

WOW, you just made me feel a whole heck of a lot better about renting here! We have 2 weeks coming up in March, and I was freaking out with some of the comments I have read! We have a 3 bdrm booked! I will def say NO. No resort fee would be nice. Is there a certain pool/location you would think would better? Glad to hear you had a good experience!

yea my last stay at Westgate Vacation Villa was not too bad - going back in Dec - why? they allow pets in certain units and would rather bring my pets than leave them at home.

they loved it last time. which surprised me. though my shy cat would hide the entire time - but that only lasted while the car was unloaded...

they loved the balcony - had a hard time getting them to leave it even in storms. It was in pretty good shape.

my 2-bedroom was old - but clean - the sofa bed needed worked - but since I didn't need - it was not a problem for me.

so had a better time than when I owned there. Did have trouble with the sale people - one came to my door and demanded that I schedule a time - when say no and closed the door - he left and did not come back.

the card VIP is $30 and used for the extra - boat rental, fishing, minature golf and I think the internet. otherwise the daily price of the internet is $9.95 (I think)

disney has free internet for DVC members - not sure about regular resort guest -but pretty sure it is free for them too.
