For a cat 6 which side of the ship is better for the Western Caribbean cruise?...the 6000 side or the 6500 side?

If hoping for an upgrade, does that mainly happen if you book with Disney or will Disney still upgrade you if you booked with a travel agent?

Thanks!

I have no idea - hoping both sides are good at least at one port
we have 6124

Ok, for a more useful answer, strictly in relation to the view from your room,

In Key West, the ship typically pulls in. Land is on the starboard side in this case, 6500 is better.

In Grand Cayman, the ship parks in the bay, bow first to land, neither side is better.

In Cozumel, the ship usually pulls in. Land is on the port side, 6000 is better here.

There seems to be no pattern to the upgrades except for availability of rooms. And that is mostly undecipherable.

Castaway Cay - back in.

If you are on the side of the ship that faces Port Canaveral when you embark, then you will hear the early morning sounds of loading and unloading. Just a little wake up call!!

Thanks Mark Thats useful to know, what about Castaway Cay and Port Canaveral. Rae says noisy but not which side?

The right hand of the ship facing the bow is starboard.

Easy way is Port is Left, Starboard is Right -
Forward is Front, Aft is back.

Thought it was easier to say it the other way but guess not!!!

Personally, the best views from the ship are on the starboard side -

To put together what was said above,(thanks rae for pointing out I missed one :) )

In Port Canaveral the ship docks on the starboard side, 6500 is better.

Also they usually back in at Castaway Cay, unlike the pictures, so again there starboard side 6500 will probably give the better view.

MarkRG - no problem - are you getting a bit "possessive" with your stateroom yet?

I don't want any one other than the one I continuously book - sure do wish I could keep it permanently!!!!!!!

For our two trips on the Wonder - Nassua was Port but the ocean and Atlantis were starboard; in Freeport, Portside had the terminal and Starboard was the stone quarry. Not very nice either way - it's a feight terminal.

San Juan - either side was fabulous - the old fort is on the Port side as you enter the harbor though in the wee hours of the morning - the best view is topside and forward!
Do NOT miss this whatever you do - it's a beautiful site!
