I have been trying to figure out where to stay the night before. We will be driving in and could stop outside of town and then park at the port or try one of those stay and sail type packages at a port hotel. What is everyone else doing? If you are staying at the port, which hotel?

I am also interested in hearing this answer. I'm hoping that someone would have a stay and park option also. Because it would be nice to drive over the night before. Last of all but not least not have to pay so much for parking at the pier. $11 per day ouch!!!!

We are flyin in the day before our cruise. Originally we were staying at the Holiday Inn in San Pedro - we switched to Best Western Sunrise, Redondo Beach.

Hi,
We are driving down and staying at the Coast Long Beach Hotel. We got the park and cruise package. It got quite good reviews on Trip Advisor so I'm hoping it will be nice.

We'll be staying at the LAX South Embassy Suites. It looks like it will take approximately 30 minutes to get to the port from the hotel. I really like Embassy Suites with the kids. We enjoy the extra space and the breakfast.

We'll park our car at the port.

If you have extra time to be in and around Long Beach, there are very nice places near the convention center--shopping, restaurants, the aquarium, and of course, the Queen Mary.

We have chosen to fly into the Long Beach airport late on the afternoon prior to cruising, so we looked for a place near the port. So we are staying at the Sheraton Los Angeles Harbor which is at
601 S. Palos Verdes St.
San Pedro, CA 90731
310-519-8200
They are VERY close to the port as the Best Western and will shuttle us over free. We booked a "club level" room for only $10 more which provides evening hors d'oeuvres, breakfast, robes, mineral water, fridge/micro.
Any it looks very nice, I am looking forward to their "sweet sleeper" bed!
Good luck! :flower:

We need to find a hotel for Saturday night on our return (because we're not flying out until Sunday morning). Anyone know of a good hotel by John Wayne Airport? Preferrably something like Embassy Suites as DM will be with us.

I also need hotel advice. We arrive in CA on Thursday for our Saturday cruise. I wanted to stay near the Queen Mary. Really I want to be in an area that we can walk around and not rent a car. I thought that area had easy shuttle service to some shopping area and Long Beach. I checked out the Sheraton mentioned above but sadly it is sold out for my date. Any other ideas?

Doesn't look like much(better then Motel 6 but certainly not a Sheraton) but the rooms are clean(we went and looked) and since we are returning to the hotel for 3 days afterwards they are letting us park our car there while we are gone. It is across the street from a couple of malls with all the usual chain restaurants, half a dozen movie theaters and within walking distance of a marina. It is also on the free trolly line that goes to downtown long beach. They are located at 6400 E Pacific Coast Highway in Long Beach. The hotel name is the web site. It is about a 15 minute drive to the pier from the hotel.

Starwood- there is an Embassy Suites about .5 mile from the John Wayne Airport. It's been years since I've stayed there, but the E.S. I've stayed at have always been nice. Here's the phone number if you need it 949-553-8332.
