We're Sailing to....Disneyland? Lots of Pics! GANGSTA KINGDOM 8/31

Okay I'm caught up. I'm still bummed we didn't get to hook up.

Sorry about the Corn Dog--usually very good

I love Pizza Port.....:thumbsup2

Since I had to wipe out half my pics from my last update, I'll put in a few here.

SS Trustworthy, or SS Rustworthy, depending on which place you were looking :confused3

Donald and Tink had a big water fight:

100_1857.jpg

We headed over to California Screamin' so Goofy and Tink could ride - They are waving back just before they go 0-60 in 1.5 seconds!

100_1853.jpg

They went upside down in Mickey's head here - this ride is so smooth, you can't hear it - it kind of hums past you - you really can't feel it when you are on it, either. You can see them up in the little "tunnel."

This is a view of Ariel's grotto from across the water - a character lunch and dinner with the princesses. Some seating is outside over the water.

Goofy and Tink decided to head over and ride Soarin'. Even though the sign said 20 minutes, I think we waited close to an hour for them to come out. We walked around and around the area, putting Minnie and Donald to sleep. Before they fell asleep, they enjoyed some glow in the dark necklaces we bought at the dollar store, and Minnie had a Tinkerbell wand that glowed, too!

Here is a snack bar while it was still daylight:

A set of retro gas pumps:

Goofy and Tink decided to head over to DL and use their FP there. We tried to leave, but the double stroller was too wide to fit through the turnstile, so I had to wait by a BIG gate for someone to come and unlock it. I waited, and waited, and waited - the CM said that she had to wait for ..... he's the only one with a key. I watched - people were entering the park, so she kept helping them rather than stop to tell....I needed help. I finally went over to the gate where ...... was letting people in. I told him I had been waiting and I needed to get out! I let him know it was rude to keep me waiting like that. Jiminy and Donald were outside the gate wondering where we went. :confused3

We headed back to the hotel to put the babies to bed - Tink and Goofy came back at 12:30 after having a great time! :thumbsup2 The magic was back! They saw Fantasmic, rode BTMRR, Splash, SM and Indiana Jones. We hadn't ridden in the dark, so this made us look forward to our "date night" the next night. We planned on sleeping in the next day - forgetting the Early Entry we were thinking about. We decided just to wake up whenever.

Next Update: Teamwork!

Another great update Tammie! I love all the pics, and so glad Goofy and Tink enjoyed themselves! I guess that CM was more interested in getting people IN to spend more money, than letting you OUT, huh?

Jordan! So glad you're here! I know. I'm still bummed too - It was the perfect time, because we were on our own schedule - we are usually with relatives and on theirs. I was just telling Goofy and Tink what you said about wearing your "nerd wear" just for them. They said they were relieved! :rotfl2:

I love Pizza Port, too!

It felt so much better for them to start having fun! Myles started having fun once we stopped trying to make him do stuff. :thumbsup2 He knew they were disappointed, because every once in a while he brings it up, "but I ddin't want to ride THAT one...." We keep reassuring him that's its okay - he can do it when he's older. :goodvibes About being trapped inside - maybe I should have offered to pay my way out. :rolleyes1

Thanks fr all the pics...Looks like some of the rides and show are going to be down for rehab or whatever for our DLR Trip...so far its Fantazmic, Alladin and POTC BOOOO thats alot all at once 2 weeks before we go Double Boo

That is unfortunately, the great tradeoff of visiting Disneyland during the non-peak season. You're more likely to find multiple attractions down for refurbishment as a tradeoff for low crowds.

Last Sept at WDW RnR was Down for rehab and the HM had just started back up the second day we went that week...I would have hopped DLR would have staggered the rides being dark as well...oh well wishfull thinking

Thanks. The designs are done - they turned out really cute! I'm so glad my DIL knows how to edit them. We got them from RumblyTumbly's photobucket site. I wouldn't have known how to personalize them.

I just got on board and I am SO excited to see how the T's came out!! Yippee another DL TR :)

We now have 14 DAYS!!!

Our excitement is a little bit tempered by the fact that we have Goofy and Tink graduating from college tomorrow, and a huge party at our house, so our Disney prep will have to take place next week!

I have an update. My parents decided to go to my DBs house in Bakersfield the same week we are there - and they don't want to do DL! Can you imagine? :confused3 Since they live close, my DB has decided not to come to DL either. They will be at US the next week for my nephew's birthday. So, it's back to the 6 of us for Goofy's kitchen!

Okay, here is a pic of our shirts for our Favs day shirts:

Thanks to everyone who is reading and posting so I don't feel like such a nerd! :goodvibes I promise lots of pics when I get back! Have a great weekend!

AH HA! I saw you on DISigns! YES! I totally copied your color scheme for my shirts! Loved the basic's of those designs. THANK YOU!!!!

Hi! I really have to do it quickly or I will forget the best stuff! Thanks for the compliment on my grandkids! Unfortunately there wasn't much he rode.

I know - you have been so speedy in your report! I feel like I have to choose between catching up on everyone else's reports or writing mine!:confused3

Hey! Thanks for stopping by! It is a small world, which by the way is down for repairs Ha! I'm excited for you that you'll be at the Happiest Place on Earth real soon! There are lots of fun new things to see and do. Just in case I don't get there soon enough:

1. Nemo is fun, but no FP, so do it as soon as the park opens one day.
2. Skip Innoventions - terrible waste of time and space
3. Toy Story Mania - a MUST! It is so fun - no FP, but the stand-by said 40 minutes, and we only waited 20. It is a fast loading, fast moving ride.
4. Plan to get really wet on Splash - they've changed it.
5. Watch for "Random acts of Indian Jones" - he appears out and around Adventureland - FUN!

OMG I am such a putz! I knew this TR was looking/sounding familiar! :lmao: Last time I posted was 5 days before we left on our trip and I never made it back to read the rest (I'm very (un) dis-organized!)

I surely do wish I had read your NUMBER 4 TIP! Yep, I volunteered for the front seat. :headache:

Gettin back to reading now~

I am loving your trip report! Thanks for the great pics! You're making me wish I was there!

I hate to say this (cause the ride is so popular) but we rode the nemo sub ride last fall, and since we had previously been on the Nemo ride at Epcot, I couldn't help but compare the two, and personally feel the WDW version is so much more fun. It might have been where I was sitting, but it was so hard to see everything through the little windows, where at Epcot it is all around you. The kids loved the WDW version so much that we must have ridden it 10 times in our last trip (we were there in Jan and there were never long waits for it). After waiting 40 minutes in line for the DL version last fall, I can honestly say we will be skipping it on our next trip. Even my munchkins weren't that thrilled with it. Don't get me wrong, it's a cute ride, just not worth the long lines IMO when there is so much else to do at DL.

Am I the only one who feels this way??

The subs and I go WAY Back...so for me it's a BIGTIME thumbs up for the DL Nemo (not that I can compare to WDW.. I'm just sayin' I love the subs!) The smell of that sub says it all.... nostalgia coming to life once again. :)

I'm sorry the little one couldn't make the 'voyage' :sad1:

I'm sorry for taking up so much room on you TR but I keep having stuff to YAP about! :guilty:

We didn't see the pixar parade but it was GREAT to see your pics! thanks for posting those. :) We saw those cute little green guys and got some video, which I will post in my TR pretty soon, of DDC marching along with them. They were stoic and never broke character - or stopped!

My first trip to DL with kids was sorta traumatic because it was the first time I split them up to do something fun. DDB was 4 and DDC was 3. I chose not to take DDC and it was definitely the right decision for us at that time. I was able to take them BOTH back the following year and it made a big difference in that year of development and being able to handle a long, new, day.

You guys were great to be patient.. it would have been tough for me but you guys are wonderful grandparents! As my DD's are getting older I'm already looking forward to my Day in the sun (OG-Ma) :woohoo:

Great pix, Tammie! That Pixar parade looks sooo fun - now that's the one I wish they would do at DHS. (although I must admit the one float with the rats from Ratatouille is kind of icky-looking! )

I'm back! Had a crazy couple of days - DGS, 1 had surgery on Friday - kind of minor, but still required a trip to the hosp 90 min. away. Then I was doing foot massages for Relay for Life during the night, some work to do, and a birthday party for little Minnie yesterday. I will try to get another update done today!

Yes, going in the off season can be disappointing as far as rehabs go. One time we went the first part of Sept, and ALL of the mountains were closed! :scared1:

I'm glad you're back! I think we learned a little something, although Tink says she will still take Minnie at 3 because Donald will be 5 and he should get to go again. I'm going to try to talk her into 6 and 4. Minnie is quite the daredevil, though.

The parade was so fun! We are not usually "parade people" but that one was just plain entertaining! :thumbsup2 The green men are pretty funny. I'll have to check out your TR! Glad you had a good time - Splash - don't say I didn't warn you! :rotfl2:

Thanks! The parade was great - the rats - don't look quite as yukky up close. AT first I thought - WTH? But when it came by it made some sense.

Thanks for reading, everyone!

Tammie - I am about read out. I will definitely be back soon to read your report. I enjoyed your last one so much!!!

 Pam2

Tammie - I am on page 11, and am loving it! I loved your Disney gifts for the kids. What a great idea! I will have to remember that for the grandkids or for my neice when we can enjoy WDW or DL w/her!

I also loved the t-shirts! How adorable! I am going to make a couple for myself now, then for all of us on our next trip - Nov 2009!!

I have so much more to read. Hopefully tonight....

Hi Tammie!

Thanks for the surprise in the mail.

Back to reading!! Oh, I picked up a white onsie at Walmart on my way home! I am going to make my neice a cute onsie, like one that you did for Londynn! I may need some coaching!
