We're Sailing to....Disneyland? Lots of Pics! GANGSTA KINGDOM 8/31

Thanks for the update...I used to have a solid white German Shepard named Libby Lu...she was a sweet dog and I have a picture of her somewhere with a kitten ....they slept together alot.....lol

Great update! I'm really looking forward to the Toy Story Mania ride when we go out next month. The que line for it at WDW looks so much better if you've see any pictures of it... Looks like it's all indoors and themed nicely. :confused3

BTW your grandkids are soooo adorable.

Looking forward to reading more. :surfweb:

Thanks! I'm glad you're here! I was disappointed in the que for TSM. I had seen pics of the WDW version and I expected the same at CA. Oh well, I'll get to ride the DHS version in March. You must be getting really excited for your trip!

popcorn:: Up late and getting caught up. :thumbsup2 Great job!, and I always enjoy your pics!

Thanks for reading, Pam!

I'm glad I could help bring up a nice memory for you! :lovestruc

I am watching now. I just got home a 1/2 hr ago from an appointment, so I missed most of it. My kids said it was awesome. Did you see the whole thing?

yes the beging was awesome....about 15000 performers in verious shows in the begining an then the parade started ...its cool to see them in there native dress up.....lol

I'm glad you mentioned that the queue for TSM at CA is not like at DHS. The one at DHS looks fantastic. To bad California Adventure's isn't like that. The ride looks fun though.

I had to run over and subscribe so I can come back and catch up later... I used to live near you outside of Lakeview, OR and Klamath was our big city shopping! ;)

Tammie - Isn't Toy Story Mania just the greatest? We loved that ride! Can't believe what a lame cue they have a DL though. They missed the boat on that one. Were the lines for it crazy long?

I was so disappointed - the building where the queue is looks like it's empty, so maybe they'll close for refurb or close off that part and fix it up later. They might have needed to open on time for Summer.

Hey! You escaped! :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: How do you like where you are now - warmer at least! :thumbsup2 I always hate that we don't get Summer for sure until July and we start getting frost in September. Thanks for jumping on - hope you enjoy!

I know! I loved that one! I had heard that the lines were 4 and 5 hours on the first few days. I don't know how you could even do that. We just don't wait in long lines - its usually FP or walk on for us, but we figured with a new ride, 40 min was pretty good, then it turned out to be 20.

I'll update later today - I have to get ready for church.

TSM sounds like such a fun ride!

It's so nice that the wait was only 20 minutes when it said 40 minutes. That's always such a wonderful surprise!

When I left you last, Donald and Minnie were taking naps with Goofy and Tink, and Jiminy and I were out playing around at CA and taking pics of the celebs at Libby Lu....

We headed back to our room at about 2:30, and we all decided that a swim was in order. I looked down at the pool and spotted 3 chairs together in the back row, so Jiminy and I got ready quickly and went down to try to reserve the spot. When we got there, the chairs were taken, so we put our towels down on the grass, and almost as quickly a couple of people left, so we moved to their chairs. I went over to the pool bar and ordered an adult lemonade, and Jim had a Vitamin Water.

We took a little dip and then settled in for a short Summer's nap. I started reading my book, and then fell asleep for a few minutes. I got a call from Goofy - they were at the small pool on the other side and there were lots of chairs! So We ordered another drink, and headed over there - it was quiet and less intimidating for poor Mr. Donald.

We sat by the pool until almost 4:00 - then we headed upstairs - we had 5:40 ressies for Hook's Pointe.

Next: Eatin'

We headed down to dinner - Hook's Pointe of course has a pirate theme - quite understated - this is for civilized pirates to be sure. ;) When you walk in, You see the "Captain's Cabin" of the ship jutting out from the wall.

We were seated by a window overlooking the Neverland pool - good view of the pirate ship!

Tink enjoyed her shrimp alfredo, Jiminy had glazed salmon, I had herb crusted talapia - I'm sure Goofy had a steak - he doesn't do seafood - and Donald had Mac and Cheese. The food was pretty good - not great, but we enjoyed the quiet atmosphere and the view.

We headed outside and played with the remote control boats for awhile:

We found a photo op near the quiet pool:

We headed to:

July08Vacation52.jpg

For some more shopping, and some ESPN action for the boys. I found some good deals at the Anne Geddes shop for Minnie's birthday July 24th, and Tink ordered a beautiful custom art piece for Minnie's room. It had the letters of her name done in Princesses. We looked at pins and stopped in at WOD for a little - then went to retrieve the boys. They were playing on free points for their ESPN NVP cards for signing up at ESPN.com.

The "young ones" headed back to the hotel for bedtime, and Papa and Gramma headed over to DL to stir up some magic. We had a FP for SM, so we jumped on and then headed back to BTMRR. It was quite a struggle back there because Fantasmic was playing. There is a real traffic problem at DL - whenever there is a parade or Fantasmic, you are completely trapped no matter where you turn, and you lose your sense of direction. So, instead of BTMRR, we ended up at Splash. Now Tink and Goofy said don't miss splash or BTMRR in the dark - we had never done these at night - so, even though standby was 40 minutes, we decided to do it. Just as we were approaching the line, a nice lady handed us two FP!  So we headed up to the front - I got in the very front of a log, and we Zipp-a-de-doo-dahed along!!!! The drop was really fun in the dark, but I have never gotten so wet on anything in my life!!!! We were totally drenched from head to toe! We noticed that they speed up the ride at night - you are bumping and crashing along inside, with hardly time to look at anything - I think that's why the splash is so big! I'm really glad it wasn't cold out that night! :scared1:

So we were on a quest for BTMRR~ we walked and got trapped, walked and got trapped - I was following Jiminy and he got turned around twice - we were just about to give up - we were in adventureland and he was headed toward the lights of Tomorrowland when I saw it - the gate into Frontierland! :thumbsup2

We headed over to BTMRR, which was only a 10min wait - it was a blast in the dark!!! The animals look really strange, and you can't see where you're going! I want to do this at night more often!

We headed back to Adventureland to ride my fav - Indiana Jones. There was a 40 min standby - it took us about 25, I think. There were some people with FP who walked up on the side of us, and they only waited about 10 min less than us. We had a great ride, and there were some "newbies" in our car, which made it really fun!

We decided to head back to our room and got the brilliant idea to get on the monorail back to DTD. We got up there and just missed it. We waited for 20 minutes, then when we loaded, we sat there for another 10 minutes before taking off. Jiminy grumbled that we could have been home already, but I was glad to be off my soggy feet! I had decided to wear my strappy sketchers tonight.

We stopped for some ice cream and sat down on a bench in DTD to eat it, then headed back to the room.

Next: When I see an Elephant Fly....

Adult lemonade? Do you mean "adult-size" or "adult-flavoring"?

Never mind, I think I know the answer!:rolleyes1

What - no food porn?:confused3

I've gotten mighty wet on Splash Mtn. myself; but at WDW, I think you get the wettest right at the start of the ride - as a log is coming down the big lasts drop, it really soaks the log that is just starting.

And, I've done BTMRR at night at WDW - it's cool!:thumbsup2

I like all the big thrill rides better at night even ToT. great update you all sure did have a full day an night...just like someone else I know.... :rolleyes1:

My family would have killed me if I took pics of food - they were having nightmares thinking that if I wore my LGMH on my bag, we were going to be swarmed by hourds of DISers saying things like, "my DISboard name is Nerd247 - what's yours?" :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

That's the only way to "do" Disney, right? :thumbsup2

Sorry you missed your photo pass opportunity!

Our deadline is coming up the 17th! It feels like you have a long time when you first look at your deadline date then WHAM-O...it's over.
