Here's my pre-trip report for a trip whose report may never get done. I do love starting those things that I may never finish.

I wasn't even going to do a pre-trip report and just surprise everyone with a fully scripted trip report when I return from The World, but a few things have happened that I wanted to share.

A few months back, I saw a write up in the Allearsnet weekly newsletter that helps me through my Disney withdrawals when I am back in this world where mice are really gray and hairy and gross. The write up was about the Expedition Everest 5K challenge. I called my sister to tell her about it and she talked me into doing ;) Since we'd just finished the Crescent City Classic 10K at the end of April, I figured, "what the heck.. that's only half. I can do it." So we signed up. My sister told some of her friends (whom she met on another internet board) about it and they decided to sign up too. So her friends Karen, Jenny and Steve will be joining us for the run/walk as well.

We planned to only be in Disney World for two days. We would arrive late Friday night and leave late Sunday night to go back home. But things have a way of changing…..

I will be there also to take on the Yeti:rotfl:

Too true about the mouse..

Why is it than when we are in DisneyWorld, seeing a mouse is cute.. People will pay money to see "a mouse", people will stand in line to see "a mouse", people will fight to see "a mouse".. but when we are at home and we see a mouse and we run screaming?? :lmao: :rotfl2: :rotfl:

Cant wait to hear more..

Okay, here's what's happened to Farrah and I (mostly Farrah) since we decided to take part in the Expedition Everest Challenge:

1. Hurricane Gustav!!!!
We drove to Dallas for our niece's christening at the end of August and ended up staying out there to ride out the Hurricane. Instead of driving back home, Farrah rode out to Austin for a job interview. She'd decided to step out on faith and move. She'd picked Austin because she'd gone there a few times and liked the city. But Farrah is practical and she's not going to just move there without having a job first. So she'd been doing a lot of phone interviews, but nothing had come out of it. She was headed to Austin for a face to face interview.

2. Farrah came home from Austin disappointed
When Farrah went for the interview she was a little disappointed because the job was only part-time. She needed a full time job to pay her bills and she couldn't try to get two part time jobs because all of her spare time had to go to her writing. Have I mentioned that she's an author? (www.FarrahRochon.com). So she'd come home disappointed, but hopeful that she would soon get another interview. We made the flight arrangements for both of us to leave out of New Orleans for our trip to Disney.

3. Farrah gets the job in Austin!!!!
Apparently, the company she'd interviewed with was very impressed with her because they called her once she returned and offered her the job at full time. :woohoo: So on Monday, she packed up and moved to Austin. Today is her first day at her new job in Austin! She also had to change her flight information.

4. Disney offers us Free Dining!!!
When I got into work on Monday, September 8th, I had an e-mail from Disney Destinations with a code for free dining. The offer started on the day that we were planning to check out after the EE Challenge. I call Farrah and tell her about it and we decided to extend our trip by a few days. So now we'll be visiting Disney World from Saturday - does Friday count if I get in at 11pm Friday night? - and we're staying until Wednesday. Sunday begins our Free Dining stay!!!! We didn't tell her friends about us extending our trip so from Sunday to Wednesday it will be just me and Farrah!

5. I called to set up our Magical Express pick ups
And find out that our room reservations were set up for us to arrive at All Star Sports on Thursday, September 25th. What!!!! We weren't getting in until Friday. Turns out when we'd started making our plans we'd first decided to arrive on Thursday (that's when Farrah's friends are arriving) but we'd changed our plans. Apparently we had forgotten to tell Disney that. So I got that straightened out and now we're ready for our first Sassy Sisters trip to Disney!!!

I really want to do something special for Farrah to celebrate her moving to Austin and starting her new life. Does anyone have any ideas on a way that I can do this (for not a lot of money)? We did the Coral Reef diver for my brother's birthday last year and we won't be going back there this year, so that's out of the question. We will be doing the HDDMR this year but we haven't made a decision on our other TS yet.

Any ideas? Anyone? Anyone?

We have 8 sleeps left!!!! :hyper: :hyper: :hyper: :hyper: :hyper: :hyper: :hyper: :hyper:

Congrats to Farrah!!:cool1: :cool1:

You could take her to her favorite Disney resturant and maybe give her some disney gifts for her new office or home (picture frames, pens, journal - since she writes). What about a disney shadow box to display the Ex. Everest medal in.

I will see you guys on Saturday before the race, hopefully:banana:

Just hopped on to say we have seven sleeps left :hyper::hyper::hyper::hyper::hyper::hyper::hyper:

I will be heading a Voter Registration Drive tonight at my high school's football game! Tomorrow, I have to attend a funeral and Sunday I'm going grocery shopping with my mom.

If this were next week, I'd have five hours before my flight!!!!

Okay, only three sleeps left :hyper::hyper::hyper: and I can barely keep myself still and I can NOT stay off of this board. I'm going to get fired! Fired, I tell ya!

Well, Farrah is officially ensconced in Austin. My dad left today with her furniture.

When we talked this morning she told me that she was going to start paking today :woohoo: . I won't pack until Thursday. I am a procrastinator :sad2:

Okay, on to trip report stuff.

We have made our reservations for the HDDMR (using two of our three TS credits). We will be there on Sunday @ 5pm. We still have another TS credit to use and we're going to try to use it for a breakfast buffet. I was doing some research on allearsnet.com and found "Fresh" at the Dolphin hotel. I was very impressed with the menu and went straight to the Restaurant boards for a review. I found one but it was from 2004.

Review of Fresh

It was looking VERY promising after this review and I called to make the reservations. Unfortunately, it is not a part of the Dining Program. I was still considering going since its only $17.95, but after I dug a little deeper I found some not-so-good reviews. So, now I'm a little hesitant. I'm waiting to hear back from Farrah and if she wants to go I'll make the reservation.

Some wonderful things about going without extra people!
1. Not having to wait for anyone when you are ready to leave.
2. Not having to worry about if everyone is having a good time.
3. Not having to worry about everyone expecting you to know where to go/what to do next.
4. It's easier to get a walk-up dinner reservation for 2 than for 12.
5. Single Rider lines!!!

I'm just getting back to work today and will be putting up the first installment of my trip report tomorrow.

I hope everyone was good in my absence!

Glad you guys got back home safely.

Thanks Lan! It was so nice meeting you. It's too bad we didn't get to talk longer. I hope we get to meet again in the World!!!
