DAY 9
Typical day today, breakfast at the boardwalk bakery, reading on the balcony while the rest of the family sleeps and then a trip to Animal Kingdom. AK is a weird park for me. There are some things I absolutely love about it
and other things that I just cant stand
. My favorite Disney show is The Festival of the Lion King
, I love Kali River Rapids, I love the music and the atmosphere and theming of the different continents. The safari can be fun. I hate the heat. At some grade or other, in elementary school
, my kids all learned about heat retention . I remember a worksheet they brought home about what landscape retains the most heat. There is a picture of a grassy park and a picture of a parking lot. The parking lot has little squiggles representing the heat above it. This worksheet always reminded me of AK. Most of all I HATE DINOLAND! It reminds me of a carnival and I hate carnival games! I feel like we just spent all this money to come here, please do not entice my children with the chance to waste $2.00 (over and over again) for a chance to win a gigantic stuffed animal that we cannot fit on the plane anyway! My kids, on the other hand, are very taken with Dinoland. SO we have a rule when they go that they can go on rides, and to the playground but if they want to play those horrible games they have to use theie own money, because Im not wasting my $$$$$$. So of course my DDs use their own money and win stuffed carp, but luckily only small carp. Another thing I dislike about AK is that the pathways seem too narrow to me. There just isnt enough room for all the people!
I remember the lines for everything were very long at AK that day. I think because there are not that many attractions, there are long lines, because everyone is waiting for those few rides. LizzY, TIik and I did get FPs for Expedition Everest. I dont know if I mentioned this before, but I HATE roller coasters, but I told my family that I would try it. I am trying to overcome my fears. DH and Winnie both said theyd be more than happy to skip this ride. So when it was time to ride off we went through the FP line and onto the ride. We got seats around the middle of the ride. I sat panicking with Tink and LizzY sat in front of us with a stranger. I kept my eyes open the whole time and I have to tell you this ride was awesome! I absolutely loved it! The backwards stuff didnt bother me at all. The part I was really most afraid of is the part where you are going up the ramp outside. It is so high and I am so afraid of heights (thats why I hate rollercoasters), but the view is so wonderful that I was too enthralled to be afraid. In fact, I wish the outside ramp was longer!. Well, it turns out we all loved the ride and came off laughing and smiling! I do believe my family was shocked 1. that I really went on the ride and 2. that I loved it.
I know we went on Kali River Rapids that day, because it is a must do for our family
, but we didnt do anything else because it was so hot and crowded.

ANYWAY - i'm glad you finished it....and happy belated '41st" Bd NSALZ.....
Then I get to write a couple more! I already wrote my APril 2007 trip in a journal while I was actually on vacation, but don't want to trascribe it to the boards til I finish this one!
