We're not going to WDW this year - yeah right!

DAY 9

Typical day today, breakfast at the boardwalk bakery, reading on the balcony while the rest of the family sleeps and then a trip to Animal Kingdom. AK is a weird park for me. There are some things I absolutely love about it:love: and other things that I just can’t stand:headache: . My favorite Disney show is The Festival of the Lion King:simba: , I love Kali River Rapids, I love the music and the atmosphere and theming of the different continents. The safari can be fun. I hate the heat. At some grade or other, in elementary school:teacher:, my kids all learned about heat retention . I remember a worksheet they brought home about what landscape retains the most heat. There is a picture of a grassy park and a picture of a parking lot. The parking lot has little squiggles representing the heat above it. This worksheet always reminded me of AK. Most of all I HATE DINOLAND! It reminds me of a carnival and I hate carnival games! I feel like we just spent all this money to come here, please do not entice my children with the chance to waste $2.00 (over and over again) for a chance to win a gigantic stuffed animal that we cannot fit on the plane anyway! My kids, on the other hand, are very taken with Dinoland. SO we have a rule when they go that they can go on rides, and to the playground but if they want to play those horrible games they have to use theie own money, because I’m not wasting my $$$$$$. So of course my DDs use their own money and win stuffed carp, but luckily only small carp. Another thing I dislike about AK is that the pathways seem too narrow to me. There just isn’t enough room for all the people!:crowded: :crowded: :crowded:

I remember the lines for everything were very long at AK that day. I think because there are not that many attractions, there are long lines, because everyone is waiting for those few rides. LizzY, TIik and I did get FPs for Expedition Everest. I don’t know if I mentioned this before, but I HATE roller coasters, but I told my family that I would try it. I am trying to overcome my fears. DH and Winnie both said they’d be more than happy to skip this ride. So when it was time to ride off we went through the FP line and onto the ride. We got seats around the middle of the ride. I sat panicking with Tink and LizzY sat in front of us with a stranger. I kept my eyes open the whole time and I have to tell you this ride was awesome! I absolutely loved it! The backwards stuff didn’t bother me at all. The part I was really most afraid of is the part where you are going up the ramp outside. It is so high and I am so afraid of heights (that’s why I hate rollercoasters), but the view is so wonderful that I was too enthralled to be afraid. In fact, I wish the outside ramp was longer!. Well, it turns out we all loved the ride and came off laughing and smiling! I do believe my family was shocked 1. that I really went on the ride and 2. that I loved it. :cool1: :cool1: :cool1:

I know we went on Kali River Rapids that day, because it is a must do for our family:grouphug: , but we didn’t do anything else because it was so hot and crowded.

I can't believe you dont like roller coasters.. :confused3 Now EE i thought sucked. It did nothing for me at all... I have never been on kali rapids because its usually just me and the kids but i plan on it this year.. A must for all of us is The safari. Its so much fun..

YAY an update.
I LOVE EE.
Kalis alright, and I refuse to Leave WDW without seeing FOTLK.
Best show ever!

OMG Nsalz brought wine and didn't get lost!!!!!!! :rotfl2: We also have tons of the masks from the WS... My kids love them. I was so excited to see you did an update at least I know now what you did for the week you were gone.. Didnt' you guys get video of you missing? That would have been great... Thanks for updating us and I can't wait to read more. But the most important thing of all you didn't use invisable ink. :woohoo:
 ha ha ha
:rotfl2:
We saved and saved and built a beautiful pook that was completed on June 8th in time for summer! The deal with the whole family was that the pool took the place of vacations for 2 years and all birthday parties had to be pool parties. That lasted all of 3 weeks. My dh and I looked at each other one night and said, "We're really not going to get to Disney for 2 years?" It made us so sad that my dh went on the internet to search for flight deals and we bought annual passes and we leave tomorrow morning! I don't know what it is that gets in our bllod-we swear they add something to the water down there
I'm with you....after every trip, we are like OK...that's it for a while...or we really can't to afford to go AGAIN, Can we?:rolleyes1

Thanks for the update. I totally agree with you on Dinoland....You're in WDW, but it never fails, the kids flock right to the same rip-off carnival games they do at home!

Well I didn't really finish it yet. I still have one more installment PLUS a bonus feature!:lmao: Then I get to write a couple more! I already wrote my APril 2007 trip in a journal while I was actually on vacation, but don't want to trascribe it to the boards til I finish this one!

Howdy!
OT: NO WAY! We live VERY VERY VERY close to Baltimore now!
Great update Pd!
Wow, that's very cool. Course that means you're further away from the Mutherland. :(

Cool, can't wait to read the rest of this and the others!

I feel the same way you do about the AK. Too hot and too crowded. Way to go on over coming your fears! :thumbsup2 I'm not a coaster person at all. Actually I don't really go on any of the rides, not a big fan of any rides. :sad2:

I feel the need for a trip to Baltimore/Washington coming up!

Are we camping?

I am at Kelly's house. We don't have any concrete plans yet all we know is we are going.. Do you camp? I would love for all of us to get camping spots by one another that would be a blast..

Cool!:thumbsup2

Next summer we are all doing dorney in PA... Wanna join us? :teeth:

I Do I do! We're about 45 min from there!:cool1:

We are thinking about some time in either July or August.. Do you camp? Do you have a big backyard? :rolleyes1

You're more than welcome to pitch a tent in my backyard as long as you don't mind our neighbor's dogs yapping all night, our other neighbor's outdoor speakers on all night, the guy from the next street back shooting off fireworks at 2 am and another guy who fires up his motorcycle at 5:30 am!:cool1:
I haven't been camping since I went with my Church youth group in HS, but I'll bet the kids would love to give it a shot!

I am dead serious about having a camp out with everyone. I think by Dorney would be the best. Easiest for everyone to travel to. When Kelly gets done being mad at me we will have to search for a campground together.. Although as loud as I'm sure we would all be this may be a good time to pay back your neighbors. :rolleyes1

I love to camp! COnvincing the DDs might not be so easy tho!

I love your new ticker!
