We're not going to WDW this year - yeah right!

Oh...I'm laughing just thinking about this day:lmao: ....Ohhh Tiiimmmmm...Please come and be my pool boy! I can't believe how accurate you are PD. I forgot about getting us lost, the attendent taking my magazine, and buying the umbrellas.

Hey it was my Birthday, I deserved TIM!:woohoo:

DAY 6 Part Deux yet another invisible ink warning!

Well my massage is finished a bit before NSalz’s so Josie takes me back to the dimly lit lounge, tells me I can sit as long as I’d like, and use the spa facilities for the remainder of the day, if I’d like. So I sit and relax for a bit and then NSalz comes back with Tim. I think if she didn’t love RSalz so much she would have considered running away with Tim! We sit in peaceful solitude for a bit and then I ask her if she wants to take her shower first or if she would like me to. She says she just wants to enjoy relaxing for a bit more so I should go ahead and take my shower first. (Bad decision on her part!) So off I go to the absolutely glorious shower in the Grand Floridian Spa. The shower is really kind of a two room deal. The changing area is bigger than my entire bathroom. It is huge!!!!! It is all done in that Italian style tile I wrote about earlier and it has a wonderfully large bench of the same tile. I tell ya I could live in this room! The shower stall itself is just about the same size with a huge shower head so there is plenty of water pouring down on me…heaven. Well I turn on the shower and have a bit of trouble adjusting it….remember these fixtures are like the house beautiful magazine faucets, and I’m not used to this, being the humble chick of small paycheck that I am! But I get it adjusted and have a glorious shower and hair wash. Those oils feel wonderful, but don’t make for the most attractive hairstyle! Kinda reminds me of 6th grade when I took a bath with bath oil and didn’t realize that it would make my hair all greasy and Mom made me go to school with the greasy hair anyway! :scared1: So after a nice long shower, I finally decide, I should really let NSalz have a turn, so I turn off the water and the faucet comes off in my hand!!!!! :scared1: :scared1: :scared1: I have the distinction of having broken the Grand Floridian Spa!!!!!!!! :rolleyes1 And it’s the only shower in the women’s section. :scared: Well I try to put the dang thing back on, but it is not cooperating!! At All! I fumble, I drop it, I fumble some more….nothing is going to work here! Now remember I just turned off the water so I’m doing this nakey!!!! Not a pretty site. Well at this point I just start laughing hysterically.:lmao: :lmao: :lmao: These things do not happen to me. What do I do and where the heck is that nice attendant who spent so much time putting magazines away….no one is checking the woman’s area now!!!!!

Well eventually NSalz comes into the shower area, I guess she’s worried because I’ve been in the shower so long, or maybe she just was finished reading all the magazines! Who knows! She is asking me if I’m ok and I cannot answer because I am laughing too hard. :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: So there she is on one side of the curtain, worrying about me, she thought I was crying, and there I am on the other side of the curtain laughing so hard I am almost hyperventilating. She keeps saying “Are you ok? Are you ok?” Well at this point I am Laughing, with tears streaming down my face, and I just cannot speak, but I know she is really worried, so I do the only thing I can do…I stick my hand outside of the curtain and had her the faucet. At which point she starts laughing hysterically and says “I’m coming in!” Well you can just try to picture us together in this dressing room, NSalz in her robe with oily hair and me all clean and sparkly, but butt naked, laughing hysterically and trying to fix the Grand Floridian Spa shower….to no avail!  Well we know it’s a lost cause so I put on my robe and go to the locker area to get dressed. NSalz had been in the locker room earlier, while I was in the shower and there was a woman there who could not make her locker open. She was sure of the combination and it would not open! She went to get the attendant who came to open it, nope not her locker. So the attendant tried lots of other lockers until she found her stuff. The woman was also laughing pretty hard at this point, because her actual locker was a corner locker in a very easy place to remember. She told NSalz that she really isn’t an airhead and that in her real life she is an engineer! I guess ya just can’t let lawyers and engineers loose in the spa…especially on the same day. Well the attendant was there, so I gave her the faucet! Turns out the screw was stripped…not my fault… so there!

Well NSalz goes to the sink area and starts to wash her hair in one of the sinks to get all those oils out! A rather snooty woman comes in and says to me “Is she washing her hair in the sink? :snooty: Obviously she was quite disgusted by this. I just said “yup, seems somebody broke the shower!”

So I go out to the lobby to take care of my bill while NSalz clogs the sink with her blonde hair! While in the lobby I scored they had a nail polish clearance sale and I picked up 2 bottles of my favorite color OPI’s Suzi sells sushi by the seashore!!!!

NSalz and I walked back to the Grand Floridian got the monorail back to the Mk and then bussed over to the Boardwalk, laughing the entire way! I hope you folks enjoyed this story. I know it’s kind of a location thing...you know you had to be there. I laughed so hard writing this that I had to call NSalz and tell her what I was writing she immediately started laughing too.

SO we tried to relay the story to our families, but really couldn’t do it any justice, because we were still laughing to hard to talk properly.

The birthday celebration continued that evening, we gave the kids $$$ for Pizza and snacks to have an in room party and the Salz’s, DH & I went to Marrakesh in Morocco for dinner. It was a lot of fun and they brought us all a huge delicious dessert to share and sang Happy Birthday to NSalz. :cake: All the servers at this restaurant are men, so picture a bunch of college guys in Fez’s singing Happy Birthday! We had a great time and then went back checked on the kids and then headed to the Bellevue lounge at the BWI for some after dinner drinks.:drinking1 :tilt:

I don’t think I’ve ever spent a day with NSalz that hasn’t been fun, but this was absolutely the best day we ever spent together!

Everyone joining me in wishing NSalz a Happy 41st birthday, which is now only about 1½ hours away! party: :bday: :cake: :rockband:

:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: I don't know if anyone is laughing a hard as I am, but I just relived this day. I can't believe the details PD remembers. I litterally have tears rolling down my face. TOT_P kept taking pictures of me because I had to stop reading many times to gain control of myself. Very much like Day 6. It is one of "those had to be there" stories but, Imagine if it was you!:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

Thank you PD for finally telling the "whole story" It was the best.

:lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: I have tears streaming down my face. :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: Well worth the one year wait! :lmao:

Happy birthday NSalz! It's still 7/5 in CA, so I squeaked in on time. Phew.

Love the post, PD!

Day 3

On Day 3 we went to EPCOT. I know many feel this is sacrilegious, but this is my favorite park. Yes I love to start and end my trip at the Magic Kingdom, viewing Cinderella Castle and soaking in the sites, sounds and glorious smells of Disney, but EPCOT is my favorite park. I love the world showcase. I always find something new there.

The cool thing about staying at BWI is that you enter the park through the international gateway. We walked from BWI, stopping at the Boardwalk bakery for breakfast along the way.

We went to Soarin’ to get fastpasses for later and were given a bonus fastpass for “the land” ride which is one of my favorites…..I know this is my kinda geeky tendency….I just love looking at the technology that Disney is using for agriculture. I don’t know why, but I just love this ride. I guess it’s the real things that are done in life that fascinate me. The fastpasses for the boatride were pretty much immediate so we rode that right away. Then we had to go to Journey Into the imagination. We love this ride and I am always amazed that there is no line for the ride, so we hopped right on. Loved it, loved it , loved it!

Then we were on to my absolute favorite part of the park…World showcase. We usually start with Mexico, but this time we started with Canada….or as my children like to jokingly call it Canadia or course they also call Norway, Norwegia. I have no idea why they do this. They’re just weird!

Tink made a mask at all of the countries, as she always does. I think we have about 423 EPCOT masks at our house. Ok it’s probably more like 7 or 8, but sometimes it seems like we have 423.

WE had lunch at the Mexican Cantina, as we tend to do. I don’t know about the rest of you, but we have our favorite places that we go to over and over again even tho there are so many choices that we could sample! The highlight of world showcase for us on Day 3 (ok the highlight for the rest of the family, if not for me) was Italy, where I was chosen as the patsy for the juggling guy who throws balls to people and has them throw them to him into his basket or whatever he is holding. He throws the balls to people who them throw them into his basket and everyone cheers. He throws them to all types of people, frail old women and little tiny kids, who all successfully make a basket. Then he chooses one person from the crowd, (in this instance lucky me!) and that person cannot make a basket, he continually goes back to that person for the big miss. Yup that’s right that was me! He would hold it 20 feet from me….couldn’t make that basket. Then he moves in closer to about 15…miss….10…miss….5…..miss. I swear he got within 6 inches of me and I missed! Yup, I was the free entertainment in Italy that day, but it was fun!

Later in the day we went to ride soarin. I have to admit I do not get the hype about this ride. I know tons of people who absolutely love it and will ride it several times in one trip. It was nice, but not something I must do again. At this point Winnie was not feeling well so we went back to the resort.

That night we ate at Spoodles, one of our favorite restaurants. The NSalz’s checked into BWV so we spent time at the pool that night with the NSalz’s. All of the girls have such a good time together and NSalz and RSalz were kind enough to bring wine to the pool to assure that the adults also had a good time.

OMG Nsalz brought wine and didn't get lost!!!!!!! :rotfl2: We also have tons of the masks from the WS... My kids love them. I was so excited to see you did an update at least I know now what you did for the week you were gone.. Didnt' you guys get video of you missing? That would have been great... Thanks for updating us and I can't wait to read more. But the most important thing of all you didn't use invisable ink. :woohoo:

WOW, PD!!!!! You were serious when you said you'd post an update!!!:thumbsup2
I'm shocked, but thrilled!
I love EPCOT, too. Espescially World Showcase. Where else can you travel the entire world in an evening????:cloud9:

:rotfl2:
We saved and saved and built a beautiful pook that was completed on June 8th in time for summer! The deal with the whole family was that the pool took the place of vacations for 2 years and all birthday parties had to be pool parties. That lasted all of 3 weeks. My dh and I looked at each other one night and said, "We're really not going to get to Disney for 2 years?" It made us so sad that my dh went on the internet to search for flight deals and we bought annual passes and we leave tomorrow morning! I don't know what it is that gets in our bllod-we swear they add something to the water down there

Well then, just to keep you thrilled....here's another update!

Day 4

On day 4 the PD112s and the Salz’s spent the day together at the magic kingdom. We had ADRs for the Crystal Palace at 12:00 noon, so got to the park early and rode pirates. The “men” then went to get fastpasses for Splash Mountain, while the DDs and DNs all purchased various types of pirate head coveringspirate: . Then all of us girls walked over to Crystal Palace to wait for the guys, who seemed to be taking an extraordinarily long time to get those fastpasses. The guys met us on the porch of CP, turns out the fast pass time return was too early when they got to Splash and would have interfered with lunch so they waited until the fastpass time was later so we would not need to rush. They get bonus points!

My family really enjoys Crystal Palace. Winnie’s favorite character is Pooh Bear pooh: . We had the absolute best waiter of all time for this lunch. I cannot remember his name…I’m pretty bad about that sort of thing. He was an older gentleman, who could not have been any nicer! We sat at 2 tables right next to one another so we were all together. He had the girls sit at one table and the adults at the other. He brought over Pixie Dust for all of us. pixiedust: pixiedust: pixiedust: He had mickey head confetti which he made sure we all got some of, both the girls and the adults as well. He was truly just a very nice man!

After lunch we went to Splash Mountain. Everyone rode this ride except for Winnie, DNeice (10) and me. Winnie and my neice do not like this ride, so I took them on the Carousel. We all love the Carousel, so while the others ride Splash we always do the Carousel. I love Splash, but don’t mind skipping it to ride the Carousel with the girls. We always have fun doing this. I think there is just something really special about riding that Carousel. Heck I love all Carousels, but there is none so special as Cinderella’s.

The park was getting crowded :crowded: and it was pretty hot :scared: so we decided to leave the park and go back to the boardwalk for some more swimming. We swam for a while and the girls went to community hall and made some stringbag/backpacs. We then all went to Downtown Disney for some shopping. Soon it was dinnertime and we just couldn’t decide where to eat so decided to go back to the MK and eat at Cosmic Rays. We spent the night at MK riding rides and finishing up with yummy, yummy Dole Whips!

Have a great time! Our we're not going to Disney trip ended up with us going 4 times from July 06 to June 07! Gotta be careful about those annual passes!:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: Maybe, if they play the MainStreet music backwards it says "you must return, you must return, you must return!"
