"We're keeping the moon!" Another Nikki and Tom Adventure! TR link PG. 37!!

Ooooooh, that funnel cake!!!! Looks amazing!!! I love the fife and drum group too, it always makes me tear up and I'm Canadian! hahahah! Of course the film in Canada makes me weep buckets - I so love my home country and my adopted country! I like that pic of the beer class in Canada too! ;)

Ah-ha! Well then he didn't have enough! :)

Haha! We definitely eat, don't worry about that!

Haha, well the Canadian national anthem makes me tear up too! I love that song. I haven't seen the Canada film since they redid it a few years ago. That's on my to-do list for next trip!

Nikki, great job with the video and great editing. I can see now why you really wanted to share it! It's great!

Great Video! Makes me happy just watching it! Your trip report is helping to get me through the next 7 weeks till I get to go back to my home!!!

Oh, I can't wait to see the video! I can't at work. Wait, I'm not at work... ;)

I got back from DL!! We did go to Trader Sam's and it made me so homesick for Adventurer's Club. But it is a small bar and very dark where AC was large and light(er). I did ask for a Kungaloosh and all they said was that I must be familiar with AC - but alas, no Kungaloosh. But that's ok :) I did a little mini-review of my trip that you are welcome to check out but beware of the evil posters who were all upset that I didn't bow down to the almighty DL. I enjoyed it but I do like WDW better.

Oh really? That stinks! At least they knew what you were talking about. Haha, funny about how people get with DL. I'll defiitely check out your mini-TR!

Hey guys!! Sorry for the lack of updates recently! Not sure why.....been thinking about my next trip and it's kind of making me a little bummed because it's not booked or official yet so as soon as it is, I'm sure I'll be keeping up with the DIS much more! But since I've spent most of the day on the couch watching "My Cat From Hell" then attempting, unsuccessfully, to beat World 8 on Super Mario Bros. Wii, I thought now is as good a time as any to update the ol' TR!

Day 4 ~ Saturday February 4, 2012

This morning started with a breakfast ADR at Whispering Canyon Cafe. I had booked this ADR for a previous trip but ended up canceling it because it is just too much of a pain to travel from resort to resort, especially that early in the morning. So since we were staying at WL this time, we had to do it!! I was especially looking forward to the breakfast skillet!

As soon as we got there and I took out the camera, I realized there was only 1 bar of battery power left. I don't know why I didn't think to charge it the night before but it was either risk it dying in the parks that day or run back up to the room and charge it while we ate. We chose the latter.....

So the pictures of our food was taken with my cell phone.

I got the breakfast skillet that I had my eye on for months!!

And Tom got pancakes.

This was my breakfast skillet after I was done with it. I really went to town!

IMG_0625.jpg

Needless to say, I was full and happy!! After our meal, we went back up to the room. On the way down, I took a pic of our room from the last time we stayed there in 2007. I took this picture standing right outside the door of the food court, Roaring Forks.

Looking towards the room.....

And looking in the opposite direction....

We also took some pics before heading to the bus stop.

We were heading to DHS that day. Not our favorite park. We're usually of the attitude, let's just get done what we have to get done and get out of here but we decided we would try to enjoy the park as much as possible today.

We started walking up Sunset, as usual, and took a break in a familiar bathroom.

DSC_0615.jpg

I think one trip, I'll have to take a picture of every bathroom stop. It's funny to think how many times I've gone into the same bathrooms. I don't know if I just have my favorites around each park or we just happen to be in the same places when I have to go but it seems like I'm always using certain ones. Like the one in Epcot by the Odyssey building...I fell like I'm always in that bathroom! And the one in the UK...oh and especially the one in America. I'm definitely doing a bathroom album next time! It's decided!

Anyway.......

We headed to TOT to grab Fast Passes and then made our way to the Animation Studio. This was something on my must-do list this time. I had only ever walked in this building to take a character pic or two and ever since I read other TRs where people did the drawing class, I've been dying to do it!

I have to say, the building is set up really oddly. We weren't really sure where to go. We walked through and around back somehow, where there was a countdown to the next movie. While we debated whether or not we should watch the movie or just go in to see what was up with the class, we ran into another DISer!! Ortholady and her brother! It was very exciting! We chatted for a few, and of course, took a picture!

DSC_0616.jpg

We decided the animation class was a priority so we went in and found the area where we were supposed to wait. We had to wait for a while but there were comfy seats so it wasn't too bad.

I got up for a minute to see what characters were around and there was no line for Pooh so I called for Tom and we got a pic real quick and then headed back to wait.

DSC_0618.jpg

Pretty soon, the doors opened and we found our seats.

IMG_0626.jpg

Now Tom is an actual artist. He's very talented and can draw really well. I, on the other hand, draw stick figures and even they look bad. So I did not have high expectations for my drawing.

IMG_0628.jpg

We both really enjoyed the class and I can't wait to do it again. This is now a must-do every time we go to DHS!

Here was my final product! (With me doing my best Grumpy face!)

IMG_0629.jpg

We spent a little time walking around the building. They had a room dedicated to art from Brave, which Tom spent some time taking pictures in. We then got a picture with Sorcerer Mickey!

DSC_0647.jpg

And I was excited to see this poster on one of the walls!! Sequel to Monsters Inc!! There really no information about when it's coming out or anything but it's still very exciting!

DSC_0644.jpg

We left the Animation Building and headed back towards TOT to use our FPs. On the way, we stopped to take some PP pics.

DSC_0654.jpg

(By the way, we did NOT plan to both be wearing orange that day.....)

There was no wait leading up to the building.....

IMG_0631.jpg

...but actually quite a looooong line in the room where you wait for the elevators. You know how at one point the line splits and you can either go right or left? Well the left line, and the elevator that it leads to, was closed. Another example of how, even though the crowds are lower in the off-season, not everything is working to its full capacity.

We actually got an AWESOME ride this time. One of the best ever. At one point we thought it was over because we were on the bottom in front of the swirly screen and just when everyone was breathing normally again, we SHOT back up for another few up and downs. It was incredible!! One of my favorite rides.

The next attraction on the "we have to finally do it this time" list was the Beauty and the Beast show. For some reason, we always just pass it up. So we made it a point to check the schedule and make sure we do it. We had some time before the next show and we started walking back towards the hub. At this point, I realized I was thirsty and for some reason (fate!) we turned around and walked to an ice cream cart that was back by the theater. I say it was fate because of what happened next.

After I asked for a bottle of water, the CM at the cart asked Tom what his shirt meant.

Now that day, Tom happened to be wearing his favorite shirt. I have tried to get him to throw it away on more than one occasion but he loves it and brings it on every single Disney trip. This is a picture of him from the end of his first day EVER in Disney World in 2006. (You can see how it's faded over the years!)

ry%3D400

So the shirt is at least 6 years old. So anyway, I guess Tom had a feeling this guy was asking for a reason but most people (i.e. normal people) have no idea what Capsule Corp. means so his response started something like, "It's from this show Dragonball...." to which the CM interrupted quickly with a huge smile and said, "Pick your ice cream!!"

Hey, the CM spoke geek!! And now Tom was being rewarded for the shirt I always roll my eyes at! It was a great moment. So great, we of course had to capture it on film!

DSC_0659.jpg

Since we now had a water and an ice cream and were close to the theater anyway, we decided to just go in and wait for the show to start.

I have to say, the show was AMAZING!! We saw Beauty and the Beat on Broadway and I swear, this was way better! It was truer to the movie (fun fact: This show opened in DHS the same day the movie was released in the theaters!) and the costumes were just amazing!!

And, I realized this when we saw Beauty and the Beast when it was rereleased a few months ago but this show confirmed...Kill the Beast might be my absolute favorite Disney song! Is that weird?? It's just so good and seeing it on stage with all the villagers dancing...I just love it!

Up next: More DHS! (We are actually loving it!)

So...funny coincidence but we stayed in that very room at WL two years ago. It was one of my favorites for being so close to the pool, boat ramp, and Roaring Forks.

I love the Beauty and the Beast show. Didn't really have a desire to see it until a year ago and now we have seen it four times. My daughter loves it and Belle is my favorite.

Can't wait to see how the rest of your day went.

Hey! Great meeting you guys! The drawing class is fun isn't it? That was my third one. I have Pooh and Donald also. You're Grumpy came out great!

So happy to see you guys enjoying DHS! It's definitely the park I spend the least amount of time in, but there are some really great things to do there... like... the drawing class! Your Grumpy is great! :thumbsup2 And what a fun moment with the CM! :goodvibes

So how noisy was your previous room location at WL since it was right outside Roaring Forks? When we stayed at AKL in 2010 we requested to be close to an elevator (just because the wings of the resort are SOO long,) and we soon realized that convenience often = NOISE. It was shocking how many people don't have inside voices and allow their kids to stomp full speed ahead down hallways ;)

We also LOVE the drawing class :) We take it at least once on every trip! I'm a terrible drawer, but my pictures always turn out decent. They are some good teachers! Your Grumpy pic was good! :thumbsup2

Being a geek = ice cream? Deal! Just what I needed...more reinforcement to be a geek :goodvibes

Loving your day at DHS so far!

Hubby and I actually really enjoyed DHS. Guess we are weird! Cool on the free Ice Cream!

I love the Beauty and the Beast show... I wonder if hubby will watch it with me again in October... hmmm... This time I need to actually WATCH the show though and not take a zillion pictures!!

Can't wait to hear more!!
