"We're keeping the moon!" Another Nikki and Tom Adventure! TR link PG. 37!!

Your video is so amazing!! :goodvibes What a great idea to create it and of course make your own website

I am glad you took the time to enjoy DHS, its one of my favorites!!!!

Ummm, I think your Grumpy looks awesome!! And I'm sure you just LOVE that Tom got free ice cream because of a shirt you have wanted him to get rid of! That will now be a good excuse for him to keep anything you want him to throw out!

So...funny coincidence but we stayed in that very room at WL two years ago. It was one of my favorites for being so close to the pool, boat ramp, and Roaring Forks.

I love the Beauty and the Beast show. Didn't really have a desire to see it until a year ago and now we have seen it four times. My daughter loves it and Belle is my favorite.

Can't wait to see how the rest of your day went.

That's so funny that you stayed in that same room!! King bed right?

Hey! Great meeting you guys! The drawing class is fun isn't it? That was my third one. I have Pooh and Donald also. You're Grumpy came out great!

So great meeting you too. The drawing class was really fun! I'll definitely do it again.

So happy to see you guys enjoying DHS! It's definitely the park I spend the least amount of time in, but there are some really great things to do there... like... the drawing class! Your Grumpy is great! :thumbsup2 And what a fun moment with the CM! :goodvibes

There really are a lot of not-so-obvious things to enjoy at DHS. Glad we discovered some this time!

So how noisy was your previous room location at WL since it was right outside Roaring Forks? When we stayed at AKL in 2010 we requested to be close to an elevator (just because the wings of the resort are SOO long,) and we soon realized that convenience often = NOISE. It was shocking how many people don't have inside voices and allow their kids to stomp full speed ahead down hallways ;)

We also LOVE the drawing class :) We take it at least once on every trip! I'm a terrible drawer, but my pictures always turn out decent. They are some good teachers! Your Grumpy pic was good! :thumbsup2

Being a geek = ice cream? Deal! Just what I needed...more reinforcement to be a geek :goodvibes

Actually, I don't remember it being noisy at all! It might have been but I don't remember it being a major complaint.

Loving your day at DHS so far!

Hubby and I actually really enjoyed DHS. Guess we are weird! Cool on the free Ice Cream!

I love the Beauty and the Beast show... I wonder if hubby will watch it with me again in October... hmmm... This time I need to actually WATCH the show though and not take a zillion pictures!!

Can't wait to hear more!!

Yeah, I started off taking lots of pictures and they just weren't coming out great so I decided to just stop trying and enjoy it!

Your video is so amazing!! :goodvibes What a great idea to create it and of course make your own website

Thanks!! Sooo happy to finally be able to share the video!

It came out good right?! That's because, although I'm a terrible artist, I am VERY good at following directions! Haha!

I am not geek, so is that from Dragonball Z? I know my sone used to be a fan....but I never watched myself. :rotfl:

I bet he'll never let you live that down about that shirt now.

Great Grumpy btw! :thumbsup2

I love WCC, I've never had breakfast there though. Was it good?

Great update! Aww, your WL pics are making me miss it soooo much! :(

I love DHS, I'm glad you guys were having a good time there! I love your Grumpy drawing, I can't wait to take another drawing class in May! I can't draw at all, but somehow, it's fun in Disney! :thumbsup2

I still have yet to see the Beauty and the Beast show! Someday! :)

When do you think your next trip will be?

I'm glad you have started to really like Hollywood Studios. After my first trip it was my least favorite park. After my Disneymoon, it became tied for first place!! Between the drawing class (your Grumpy turned out GREAT! And you say you have no talent...), TOT, RNR, TSM (yay for abbreviation :rotfl:), the Beauty and the Beast show... there is a LOT of amazing things to do there. :goodvibes

I think my family is a lot like you and Tom. We tend to do our favorites Tower of Terror and Rock N Roller Coaster at Hollywood Studio's and leave. I think on our next trip we need to try staying longer.

Great score on the free ice cream. A little pixie dust is always good. :thumbsup2

I've never done the drawing class but have read so much about it on other's trip reports that it's something I'd like to try next year. Great job on Grumpy. I can't draw at all.

Yes your son would most likely know about Capsule Corp. then. That's what it's from. I've never watched it either.....

When do you think your next trip will be?

I know, WL is the BEST!! So glad we stayed there this time. Oh you HAVE to see B&TB! It's so good! Most likely this summer will be our next trip but when this summer is the question! Originally, I was thinking the third week in August but for some reason flights are ridiculous for most of August and are like half the price in July so we might go end of July instead to save some money that way. We'll see......we're kind of cutting it close....

Yeah I guess there really is a lot to do there. I think the layout of the park itself is what's such a turn-off!

Yes definitely do the drawing class! I'm telling you, I can't draw either but they make it very easy! I think you need to stay longer too and try to appreciate all that the park has to offer!

Day 4 cont. February 4, 2012

We last left off having had, thus far, a great morning in DHS! An excellent drawing class, some character pics, an awesome ride on TOT, a magical moment with a CM and free ice cream and a viewing of Beauty and the Beast.

It was pretty unbelievable that we did all that and STILL hadn't gone over to Star Tours yet!! So we made our way in that direction.

We got a FP but the standby line was only 20 mins so we headed in that line. While we passed the Star Speeder, I asked Tom about what had changed about it since last time and as he was telling me the specifics, a CM opened up a chain and let us through to the other side! The FP line! I felt kind of guilty because now we were passing all these people that were in front of us on line but Tom was convinced that being a geek paid off once again and they guy let us through because of his knowledge of the ride. :goodvibes

The ride was awesome!!

We then decided to wander the streets of america for a bit. This is where the layout gets soooo confusing! We went in one direction and could hear Mulch Sweat and Shears so we headed that way and emerged onto the street to catch just the last few minutes of their show. I love them!

Then we just hung around and took some pics!

I had to take pics with the travel agency signs, of course!

Tom was like, lean up against those doors for a picture. Well when I leaned, the doors opened! So of course, I had to peek inside!

There was really nothing there. I could see parts of the Honey I Shrunk the Kids playground area but mostly it was just an empty space.

Kept on walking....

And then we couldn't BELIEVE what we saw in the Backlot Express counter service area - the car from Who Framed Roger Rabbit!! Just there, with nobody caring about. That's what's kind of sad about the Studios nowadays. The backlot tour is more like a movie prop graveyard. That was something on the list of things to do but we never did get around to it. Next time....

We were a little early for our Sci-Fi ADR but we decided to head over there and see if we could get in. I think it was around 2:30 and our ADR was at 3:00. It was fairly busy but not so bad. They said we could wait 20 mins for a table or come back at our ADR time. We opted to come back. BIG mistake!!

We walked over to One Man's Dream to check that out for a while.

We hung around for a while and then headed back to Sci-Fi. Well now it was PACKED!! It was madness. We stood on a long line and finally told them we had an ADR but of course, now we still had to wait. Standing room only. This is when we realized we should've just stayed before!

Eventually we were seated and surprisingly it was quiet and seemed kind of empty inside! :confused3

We ordered just a few apps and beers. Sam Addams seasonal had just switched over from Winter to Spring so we were excited to try that. I am not a fan of the Winter but I really liked the Spring! (Actually funny, just last night we went to Medieval Times and found that it has now changed from Spring to Summer!)

We left lunch very satisfied and overall satisfied with our entire day at this park! We stopped for one more pic before heading out at around 4:30!

We had a bus all to ourselves!

We waited a long time for our Sci Fi ADR last week too - of course, it was spring break!

I guess if you go in July - you will be going late July? We are going June 28 - July 10th. Just booked the split stay at AS Movies and POFQ - first time for both places!

I had that same experience with Star Tours in Aug. It was late night for EMH's and as I walked up they let me in the fast pass line and I basically had no wait at all. I love the magic!

Sadly the ride made me a little motion sick. I'm not sure if I'll give it another go in Nov. or not.

Hi nikki!
I just found your trip reports and have been going thru some of your old ones too. Looks like you had a great time. Looking at your pics from the food and wine festival made me miss it so much. My absolute favorite is Epcot and just wandering around the worlds. Maybe I can trick my boyfriend into going back this year for a long weekend. :) I also believe we tour epcot the same way, with a variety of beverages in hand

Can't wait to read more!

ETA:
I'm just about half way thru this one and reading about your anxiety. I get the same thing. Whenever I have to get up earlier, I basically wake up every 1/2 hr. And we also tend to take the first flight out of JFK, so thats like 6am. The last couple of trips, I don't think I was ever able to fully recover and the vacation suffered a bit for it. Next time, after reading the idea from another trip reporter, I think i'm going to attempt to add on a relaxing do-nothing day to the beginning of the trip. Just to get that anxiety out of my system.

Star Tours is so much fun! That's so cool that you got to skip ahead of everyone because of Tom's knowledge! :rotfl:

The Streets of America look so weird to me now without the Osborne Lights!

I love One Man's Dream, I have to check that out again in May!

Ugh, Sci Fi is always such a long wait, no matter what! And sometimes I don't get Disney restaurants, you wait so long to get seated, and then when you do, the restaurant is empty! :rotfl2:

I believe the room at WL was a king, but I am not 100% sure. They all seem to run together these days. I am glad that Sci-Fi didn't turn into a disaster. Before I finished reading, I was thinking something was going to go wrong...like they couldn't find your ADR or something, glad that wasn't the case. We are going in July this year. The airfare was great for all four of us to fly so we are meeting my mom down there. We are going 5 days earlier than her. We go July 16-26. I can't believe that we are into double digits. So excited! Glad your day at HS ended up as a good one. It took me quite a few times to truly appreciate HS, but I finally got there. Lol.

Oh, I LOVE the studios! And I love how you guys pose in your pics! We do that same kind of stuff (at least DD and I do - DH...not so much, hahahah). It's fun!!! Too funny that those doors opened when you leaned on them! Isn't it weird to see the back of those facades? Do you remember when the Golden Girls' house was there? And the house from one of those Disney Sing-A-Long songs videos? So weird (and cool) when you went behind them and they were just flats! Ah, Disney Magic! :lovestruc

I came in late, but im all caught up! I love the layed back pace of your trip so far! I also really love all your silly pictures you guys take of yourselves!:upsidedow You have totally convinced me to get one of those funnel cakes next time, we passed them up because I thought it was a slab of cream cheese frosting. Dont get me wrong I love me some cream cheese frosting! Just not a brick of it:rotfl: I also am definitely going to have to add some money in the budget for some of those amazing drinks...and the wild africa trek...ok maybe Ill just copy your trip next time:goodvibes

Great updates! Your Grumpy drawing is really good!! I feel the same way about HS - get my 'favorites' over with and leave. But next month on my solo trip, I think I'm going to spend some more time exploring it. And your posts have inspired me :thumbsup2

Well I read through this entire trip report and the one where you did the 5K. I had all sorts of things to comment on, and then the DIS went down for hours and I don't remember any of it. :confused3

Additionally, I was reading on the Chrome browser and since the DIS came back online, I can't log in to my account on Chrome....only on Explorer. So then I had to find your thread again. :headache:

The only thing that sticks out to me that I was going to comment on was how exhausted you were on your 5K trip. I got very exhausted due to lack of sleep on my Princess Half Marathon trip and I can totally relate. I felt terrible. I even fell asleep sitting up on a bench in Epcot. Oh, and your 40th Anniversary experience was crazy....but the photos and videos were great!

Finally had a chance to read it all! Another wonderful report! I am sorry to hear about the crazy night before your trip and the first one! UGH. Glad it didn't repeat itself for the entire vacation.

Those funnel cakes with ice cream look amazing. That is on the list for October. ::yes::

I finally got to play your video! It's great, awesome job! I love how you timed the pictures to the music :thumbsup2
