Hello everyone,

Well, after picking up hubby from work, we made our way west on I-4 from Daytona to Orlando. We drove into POR at about 6:30PM and checked in. There were no kings left, but that was fine. Got a nice courtyard view with a fountain at "The Oaks" building, ground floor, and near bridge for main building and everything fun!! By the way it saved us some $$. Instead of $116 a night, we are only paying $89 a night. More $$ for birthday presents!! LOL

After getting into our room, hubby showered and got ready, and we headed to A.S.S. for pin trading. (I made 6 pin trades before leaving resort) There weren't near as many people as we've seen in the past. But it was kinda nice, and relaxed. I traded for some fun pins, and a nice 50th Walt's Footsteps tour pin from DL. Love it! We left A.S.S. at a little after 10 and headed back to POR. Dropped of pins and walked over to Foot court for a little smackeral of something. We saw one of the horse drawn carriages. That looks so cool. I told hubby I want to do that this weekend. We'll see. The walk over was so pretty. All quiet too.

We had a nice cup of coffee and a piece of carrot cake. YUM!! Have to eat your veggies...LOL!

We are going to breakfast hopefully at Boatwrights. Never ate there, and love eggs benedict. Then we're off towards EPCOT with lunch at Rose & Crown. We're gonna stop by the Yacht Club and see Captain Bob who I found out last weekend is back working 2 days a week. He "retired" last year, but just couldn't stay away. He is the sweetest man you'll ever meet.

After that... well, I'll tell ya later after we do it. Don't wanna give you the whole story in case it changes.LOL!

More later!
Blessings,
Winnie

Yep, we are headed to POFQ tomorrow morning. Sounds like you are off to a good start and an enjoyable time. :sunny:

Oh how I wish I were you. Instead I have 3 more weeks of work (well, not really working-I spend most of my days at work day dreaming of disney and DIS'ng). Have a great trip and let us know all of the fun times you have!

Thanx for the post! I'll be staying there in a week. Let me know how you liked that section of the resort.
Have Fun :wave2:

Well, it's almost midnight and I'm pooped!! I have read all the responses to this post. As far as gas goes, on property it was $2.89 yesterday and is $2.99 a gallon today. But there appears to be a good supply.

We had a really busy but fun day. I am so very tired, I am going to post about the rest of our trip either tomorow night or when I get home sunday.
We are having alot of fun and look forward to celebrating my birthday tomorow.

Port Orleans Riverside is as pretty as ever. This is our second stay here. But as I am here, I think of New Orleans and I am so sad. I pray it will soon be retored to the beauty that is represented at this resort. I lived through the hurricanes of last year in Daytona where I am from. And we had severe damage. But as I watch what is unfolding, I feel very blessed in our experience last year.

This is a much more vast amount of damage, both in life and home and businesses. It is just unbelievable. And I am overwhelmed just thinking of it. I am not sure why I am sharing all this. My heart is just so full, and breaking at the same time.

My heart and prayers are with everyone who has been touched one way or another because of this turmoil. May we all remember to love those nearby and let them know how very important they are. Let us show it today. We are not promised tomorow.

God bless us one and all,
Winnie

Olbear - Thank you for your kind words for all the people in Louisiana and Mississippi who have lost so much from the storm. I am from Bush, La and thankfully, we didn't have too much damage to my house. I try to relive the tension of the aftermath of this storm by reading the disboards.

We have a trip planned for Oct, but I don't think we'll be able to go. We have a lot of work to do on our home/yard.

Glad you are having a great trip! Again, thanks for the kind thoughts!
