We're headed back! And this time...I'm NOT pregnant!-We leave TOMORROW!!

Sure is quiet, hope I have a few followers popcorn:: Then again, we're still 6 months out til our trip!
So today is Day 4 of our snowed-in city! Again, this never happens here! J took a few pictures of Emma and I in front of our house.

IMG_6764.jpg

She was not very happy out in the cold (although I bundled her up!).

IMG_6757.jpg

Back inside we went!

IMG_6751.jpg

Then J decided to take the poor pups on a quick walk (to which he slipped on some ice  But he's ok!)

IMG_6772.jpg

Anyway, I finally had a chance to show J the restaurants I had picked along with the menus on allears.net. He seemed pretty excited about Boma! I guess we're thinking a buffet might be a nice way to introduce Africa foods since we're not certain what to try. Then I showed him Whispering Canyon and he didn't seem very impressed. Hmmmm....well if that's a no-go, maybe we could try Kona!? But I already have that one picked for breakfast! Of course the menu is totally different between the meals (and I'm heading to breakfast specifically to try Tonga Toast!), but J didn't want to get burned out on Polynesian style food. I don't think that'll be a problem! ;) So now we're thinking we'll do Kona for dinner on Sunday evening. That way if we want to hit up Magic Kingdom again, we can just hop on the monorail and get right over! :woohoo:

Well, I had planned on today being the day to get up and make our ARDs, then I realized we had 2 different reservations! I called Disney Dining yesterday and the lady informed me I could call and make reservations on Feb 7 (today) for our first day, but then I would have to call back Feb 8 to make the rest of the week (or I could just wait 'til Tuesday to make them all). Ok, I said. Thanks for the info. A little disappointed I would have to wait one more day  I accepted it. Then I searched on the Boards a little while yesterday (as I usually do. I really think I have an addiction sometimes) :surfweb: and discovered lots of people are making their ARDs on line. So I checked it out and saw it appeared to be pretty easy. Maybe I could make my reservations on Monday after all?!
So I woke up and did my usual routine this morning. As I let our pups out, I got on the computer, entered my reservation number and.....

IT WORKED!!! YES!!!
And.... I was able to make ALL of our ARDs!!! :woohoo:
Now I know some of them are not what we originally planned, but I think this will work out better for us! So here is the plan:

Saturday - arrive, dinner at Boma! Pretty excited about this (and those zebra dome things! YUM!)!

Sunday - go to MK for rope drop (hopefully!), then head over to Poly for some brunch at Kona (TONGA! TONGA! TONGA!!). We'll check into VWL sometime during the day and maybe relax a bit. Then we have dinner plans at 1900 Park Fare! I know this is a new one, but I thought it would be fun! Lots of people said the step-sisters are hilarious! We'll eat a little late and then head over to MK for EMH! Open til 2am I think! Although I doubt we'll stay that long... :rolleyes1

Monday - We're planning for AK in the morning then gonna have dinner at Garden Grill (J's favorite from last time). Epcot is by-far our favorite park, so I'm sure we'll walk around WS after that huge meal!

Tuesday - no ARDs today! We're gonna head to DHS in the morning and see where the afternoon/evening takes us! Maybe Epcot? Maybe DTD? Who knows?!

Wednesday - ALL day at Epcot! We may decide to go back and take a nap during the afternoon, but then we have dinner ressies at Les Chefs de France! I know this one also came outta the blue, but we were having a hard time deciding where to spend our last TS meal. After researching the Boards a bit, this place looked pretty darn good! :disrocks: J and I both consider ourselves pretty adventurous when it comes to food and after looking at the menu it was pretty much a no-brainer! Uh, can you say "Gruyere Mac'N'Cheese"?! (insert Homer Simpson style drooling....ahhhh....)

Thursday - sadly, the end of our journey. :sad2: We left this day open, too. No food commitments, but we plan to hit MK and possibly DTD. I really can't wait to try some goodies from Main Street Bakery (again with the Homer drool). The nice thing is our flight isn't until 6:30pm (and please send some pixie dust in hopes of no changes with our flight schedules!:wizard:) :goodvibes

So that's it! Plans are coming together and we're now only 6 months out!! :woohoo::dance3::cheer2::woohoo:

Super plans! You're making me want to plan a trip with just dh! I think I'd have to lie to the kids, though. "uh kids, we're going to the toilet store for a week!" :rotfl:

I love your ADRs. It's actually making me want to get started. I've been so busy with mid-year stuff that I've been distracted from Disney stuff. I need to regain my focus! Our trip is only 4 months away!:scared1: I'm not sure what to do that trip (without kids) and the trip with kids in July! I need your organization! Hopefully you have no flight changes. We are hoping the same since our flight home is also an evening flight!

I guess my biggest issue with planning, is like it is plan plan plan...then wait to go! Back to my progress reports now!:sad2:

:lmao: Good one!!
I have a feeling we'll probably enjoy ourselves this trip and may want to go again sometime without kids. But if our kids are anything like me, they would never forgive me for leaving them home! My ultimate dream would be to buy into DVC! That way we could go every year or so, and maybe go without the kids for part of the trip then have them join us later! :cloud9:

Get on the band wagon! :rotfl: Time for some ARD schedules!
I did a lot of "kiddy" stuff on our last trip since I was preggo and had to miss out on quite a bit. But this trip I hope to hit all the BIG stuff (including some adult beverages! :drinking1 ). Although I haven't been on big roller coaster in a while... may have to take some dramamine just incase... :crazy2:
And if you need any help with planning, please let me know!! J always jokes I should become a travel agent for Disney! Ahhhh.... my dream job!!

Thanks for reading!!!

I asked my daughter if she'd be really mad at me if scott and I ever went to WDW without her. She said yes, of course. But I started planting seeds that a mommy/daddy trip would be REALLLLLLLLY boring and that we would really be touring the world showcase ALL DAY and eating in frou frou restaurants.

I'm here and loving your plans! I am jealous about you guys going without kids, but at the same time, we had the chance to do that and we chose not to..it's funny, because I know that we would have an awesome time..but I would be upset walking by everything thinking..aaawww, Rapunzel loves that ride...or that is Stitch's fave!! So, the way you guys are doing it is the best! That's why we will be doing the Disney cruise alone the first time...we consider it doing research for when we take DD's in a few years !!

Exactly!! :thumbsup2 And then just promise to take her again very soon! That's my plan if we ever get to go back without kiddos in tow! Although if it were my parents I would've been soooooo mad!!

Welcome aboard and thanks!! I know, I think that's why we're getting it out of our system now cause once the kids go they'll be no stopping them! But I think a cruise will be great for you two! Plenty of opportunities for romance and not constant distractions/reminders of your kiddos! :beach:::yes::

This post really has nothing to do with Disney, just some stuff about us. Our little Emma was feeling kind of yucky over the weekend and we just assumed she may have a little bug along with teething. Unfortunately, she had a febrile seizure yesterday afternoon because her temp changed so rapidly. I called 911 and the paramedics got here in less than 2 minutes. They were able to get her through it and gave her an I.V. I know that this is a common thing for little kids to experience. If their temp changes too fast, their little bodies can't take it. In fact several friends of mine said their kids have gone through it. One of my friend's son had a really bad one! He turned blue and she thought he was dead! Thankfully, he is ok! So I know it could've been a lot worse! However it doesn't make it any easier to watch your child go through it. After we spent about 4 hours at the E.R. and they poked and prodded little Emma, it was determined she has a viral infection. The worst part was that there's a chance she could go through this again (which, again is very common for kids). The doc said if it happens just to set her on her side and let it go through. Ummm, yeah I'll still be calling 911! Let's just pray there isn't another time. I don't wish this on my worst enemy! I don't mean to be such a downer on Valentine's, just wanted to give an update of what's been going on. We're so eternally grateful that she's ok! I hope everyone has a blessed day! Be sure to tell your loved ones how much they mean to you and give them an extra tight hug!

My precious angel! I LOVE her more than words can say!

Have a Happy Valentine's Day!

So sorry to hear about your crazy weekend. I can only imagine the worry that you went through this weekend. Hopefully she won't experience another one.

UGGHHH!!!! That is soooo scary!! Especially when they are so small and you don't know what to do to help them!!!! My poor Mom had to deal with me having them when I was little!!! I hope that you have had the last of them and your little one is feeling better!!!!:flower3:

Sorry to hear about your awful weekend. You must have been terrified. Glad Emma is better and hopefully you won't have to go through this again.

I hope you had a good Valentine's Day! Did Emma get anything special?

Thanks so much everyone!! :grouphug: It was definitely scary and we pray to never experience anything like that again!
We had a pretty good Valentine's Day! I had a doctor's appointment in the morning (ya know, the fun one, ok TMI, sorry ). Fortunately J had the day off work and spent the entire morning with Emma! She was feeling a lot better! We could tell she still wasn't back 100%, but she is much better than this weekend! My mom came over in the afternoon to visit (she was actually over on Sunday and holding Emma when she started to seize, very scary). She needed a good visit with her grandbaby! Emma got not one but 2 Valentine's Day stuffed toys from my mom (aka Mimi), one cuddly Lion and a big, soft teddy bear with a heart. We made some cookies, ya know the peel apart and bake kind, with red and pink chips. Emma was a fan! I also ordered a pizza, a heart-shaped one at that , and we just had a nice, relaxing evening at home. :cloud9:

The night class I teach is on Tuesday evenings so I usually spend the day getting ready and don't have much time for the DIS, but this week is going to be fairly easy. My students are watching a video over Islam then listening to some music of different religions. Afterwards, I'm giving them their test review and letting them loose (hopefully they'll stay and work on it with the remaining class time). So I've had a little extra free time this morning and was perusing other PTRs and came across a great idea! Disney Movie Theme Night!!

I started to do this for our last trip with a huge list of movies, especially ones J hadn't seen. But time went on and we kind of lost it :guilty: Not this time!! We're gonna stick to it!! ::yes:: Coincidently, I just signed us up for Disney Movie Club!! :yay: So we'll be expecting Toy Story 2 and 3, Alice in Wonderland (animated version, it's been wwwaaayyy too long since I've seen this!), Mary Poppins (another one I haven't seen in forever!), Mulan, Wall-E, and UP (2 of our favorites!!). I'm thinking with the Toy Story movies (which J has seen neither of them, I just haven't seen 3) we could do some sort of board game night. I don't know what kind of theme-appropriate food I could make? Hmmmm.... twice-baked potatoes? :lmao:

If anyone has any other ideas for movies and themes, please let me know! I'm ready to get J as excited about this trip as I am (even though we still have 5+ months left  )!!!

Subbing to your PTR! I found you over on the August 2011 thread. You will really enjoy going to Disney without a little one. It will be hard leaving her, I've done it. But, when you see screaming, hot babies and tired moms, you will be grateful that you are waiting until she is old enough to enjoy all of the excitement.

Sunday - go to MK for rope drop (hopefully!), then head over to Poly for some brunch at Kona (TONGA! TONGA! TONGA!!). We'll check into VWL sometime during the day and maybe relax a bit. :thumbsup2Love your plans. Wilderness Lodge is so nice. My in-laws stayed there in 2001 and we visited them at their room on Sept. 11th (when the parks were all closed down suddenly) and watched the geiser from their balcony. So cool! :cool1:

I'm drooling thinking about the tonga toast. :) We have plans on our trip to head to Capt Cooks just to get that and not have to make an ADR for it. We did it before and it worked out great. You'll love 1900 Park Fare...we did it last time and it really was such fun...very entertaining. Kids want to go back this trip but I've nixed it for other ADRs. :rotfl2:

We used to do Garden Grill but haven't in a while. We just find new places and end up liking them better. We did do lunch at Chef de France last trip and really enjoyed it, so I made a dinner ressie for our upcoming trip. DH isn't thrilled, and I do have a backup ADR elsewhere, but I'm looking forward to it. :)

And MMMM Main Street Bakery...another must-do for us every trip since we discovered it a few years ago. I'm so excited we are staying at BLT because part of me thinks I can walk over at ANY time and hit that place. FABULOUS!

Hi there and welcome! We are really looking forward to going again sans kiddos. Although I've never actually been with kids, I went a couple of times as a kid and last time I felt like one (no big rides, no adult beverages!). J and I actually talked about leaving Emma behind and I almost started to cry. Friends of mine said it's really tough to get out the door and head to the airport, but it's worth it to reconnect as hubby and wifey! Plus I'm already making plans to take Emma for her 5th birthday. BBB here we come! :goodvibes

Thanks for all the tips! I'm dying to try the Tonga Toast!! Just hope it doesn't disappoint... nah! I think we'll enjoy 1900 Park Fare. We walked around the GF last time before our O'hana ARD and fell in love. It'll probably be a long time before we ever stay there (wishful thinking...), so dining is the next best thing! ;) It was so funny, J's only request for repeats for dining was Garden Grill! I was a little surprised, but he did rant and rave about how good the food was. And can you believe we didn't hit up Main St Bakery!?! :scared1: We just were never able to fit it in :guilty: But not this time! I'm glad we'll have 2 early starts (praying for Rope Drop!) at MK! So no excuses this time!

Hi! popcorn:: I've read your whole trip report and pre trip report in one sitting and have really enjoyed them both!

I love thrill rides so much, I would have been pouting too at missing out, but how cool you are getting to make up for it with your upcoming trip!

I had never really thought too much about the boardwalk, but as you pointed out, being within walking distance from epcot and dhs is a very big bonus! glad to get a couple of dining recommendations for around worldshowcase!

Sorry to hear about your daughter having the seizure and hope everything works out ok!

And your house looks really beautiful, me and DBF are hoping to start building our house this summer so i'm houses on the brain right now!

Anyways, I'm really glad to have found such a lovely happy pre trippi to follow!:goodvibes

Hi and thanks for joining in!! :welcome:
Our last trip was lots of fun, but there were some bummer parts. J promised he would take me back! But I'm sure he didn't think it would be this soon!
We loved staying at the Boardwalk! I had hoped to stay at Beach Club this time, but J seemed to really like the idea of the Wilderness Lodge. No biggie, we'll shoot for the Beach Club next time! ;) And the dining at World Showcase is so intense, there is just so much! So it's a great idea to go a couple of times throughout your trip and split meals. That way you get to sample much more!
And thank you about Emma! She is doing so much better! Back to her old self! :cloud9: The down side is that it may happen again (let's just pray that it won't!).
And thank you! We just bought our house this past summer (early August). It has a pool which we didn't get to take advantage of too much. Needless to say, I plan on spending quite a bit of time there this summer (gotta work on my Disney tan! :rotfl:)!
Have to say, I took Irish Step Dancing for several years in high school and college and loved it! Unfortunately, life got in the way and I had to stop. Some friends of mine are still taking it so I hope to get back into it some day cause it's so much fun (and great exercise!)! We actually have an annual Irish Festival here in Dallas the first weekend of March and my friends are going to perform. I'll be sure to sit and watch sipping a Guinness! :drinking1 Of course, my tummy can only take one then it's back to other "softy" drinks! :lmao:

Hi  finally made my way over via my PTR. It looks like you are going to have a great time. I am not sure if I am meant to congratulate you on not being pregnant :lmao:. It is a good time to go without kids now though, while DD is still too young to appreciate the parks. It will be much better when she is a little older.

I am so sorry that she got so sick but it is very good that she is ok now, it must have been so scary for you.

I know exactly what you mean about Tonga Toast, I keep seeing pictures of it and can't wait to try it for myself. DBF doesn't agree with me though, I am pretty sure that he thinks it is the most unhealthy meal on the planet. He is wondering about what healthy food he can get at places and I have decided that I don't care if I put on weight because I just want to try everything there is :woohoo:.

Hey girl!

I'm so excited for you! You get to go back and experience EVERYTHING this time. Plus, you get to take Emma to Disney World for the first time! She is super adorable btw. This is going to be such a memorable trip for you guys, I can't wait to hear all about it :)

And I'm SO jealous. I love, love, LOVE WL. I stayed there in 2009 and fell in love with the place. Favorite resort by far!
