We're headed back! And this time...I'm NOT pregnant!-We leave TOMORROW!!

Hi, just read your report. I was supposed to go to Disney while 20 weeks pregnant in November, but had to cancel due to complications in my pregnancy. Oh well, I had a year to re-book our flights with our credit so we will be going in October and I too will be leaving the baby at home. I felt soo bad, but am glad I'm not the only one.

Your trip sounds great so far.

Hi  finally made my way over via my PTR. It looks like you are going to have a great time. I am not sure if I am meant to congratulate you on not being pregnant :lmao:. It is a good time to go without kids now though, while DD is still too young to appreciate the parks. It will be much better when she is a little older.

I am so sorry that she got so sick but it is very good that she is ok now, it must have been so scary for you.

I know exactly what you mean about Tonga Toast, I keep seeing pictures of it and can't wait to try it for myself. DBF doesn't agree with me though, I am pretty sure that he thinks it is the most unhealthy meal on the planet. He is wondering about what healthy food he can get at places and I have decided that I don't care if I put on weight because I just want to try everything there is :woohoo:.

Hi there and :welcome:
Yes, it's a good thing I'm not pregnant at the moment. Although we'll probably start trying again for another baby at the end of the summer. ;)
And thank you! Emma is doing so much better! So glad she's back to her normal self! :cloud9:
I really hope the Tonga Toast is as good as it sounds/looks! I hate to build it up and then not be impressed, but I'm sure it'll be great! Plus J likes the looks of the Big Kahuna, so I can always nibble off his plate.

Hey girl!

I'm so excited for you! You get to go back and experience EVERYTHING this time. Plus, you get to take Emma to Disney World for the first time! She is super adorable btw. This is going to be such a memorable trip for you guys, I can't wait to hear all about it :)

And I'm SO jealous. I love, love, LOVE WL. I stayed there in 2009 and fell in love with the place. Favorite resort by far!

Hey Jen!
We are so excited about going back! Maybe me a little more than J, but he'll start getting pumped when the trip isn't so far out!
We're actually going to leave Emma at home this trip (hope that doesn't make me sound like a bad mom!). I was able to convince J this would probably be our last trip as a couple for a long time (like maybe around retirement time! :scared1:). Although I'm still planning on taking Emma to the Bippity Boppity Boutique for her 5th birthday, so we'll make it up to her.
I can't wait to stay at the WL!! I've always been drawn to it (maybe the pretty, rustic theme...) but I've never even had a chance to visit it. I have a feeling J is going to really like it (he's kind of a mountain-y kind of guy).
Be sure to let me know when you're starting a PTR (if you're going to do one) for Disneyland! I'm so excited for you!

Hi and :welcome:
Being pregnant at Disney was fun, but I did miss out on quite a bit. That's awesome that you guys got to reschedule! And for October!! I would love to go during that time and experience fall/Halloween decor (that and the lower crowds)! As long as J and I are both teachers it may be a little hard to get there during that time. Hopefully some day!
And good for you guys going as couple! :thumbsup2 My sister-in-law convinced me that it really isn't that bad. Her and her DH went to Hawaii when their youngest was 9 months old for their 10 year anniversary. It's something that is really important for a lot of couples, to be able to reconnect with each other and remember why they fell in love!

Thanks for reading, everyone!! I promise to post in the next day or two! School has been pretty busy (getting ready for observation). Plus trying to keep Miss Emma entertained! :goodvibes

Of course you're not a bad mom! LOL. She's probably too young to even remember it if you took her now. 5 years old is a good age to take her. She'll know who all the characters are by then and be able to go on most of the rides :) And you get to enjoy all the grown up stuff now!

You'll love WL! Make sure you check out the lobby in the hotel. Absolutely beautiful. You're so close to MK (you can take a boat) but it feels like you're tucked away in the woods. And near the main pool they have a geyser that erupts! I love, love, loved it there. When we checked out I was so sad...and I was on my way to DCL so I should not have been! lol

I don't think I'm going to do a PTR since it's a work-related trip. They have our days planned out for us. I'll post updates in my TR and then do a mini-TR of the trip :)

That's exactly my plan! I'm already putting Mickey Mouse Clubhouse on the TV for Emma (although she watches about 2 minutes then goes on). I can't wait to see if she's going to be a Princess kinda girl or more of a tomboy!

We are really excited about WL! I've only seen it from the outside, so I can't wait to check out the lobby! I also heard there are tons of hidden Mickeys around, so I'l have to check it out.

And your plans are sounding great! How fun that you get to go check everything out, then maybe you guys can go back for an actual vacation and you'll already know where all the good stuff is! :thumbsup2

We're officially five months out (plus one day!) and I can not wait!!! :cheer2: I know that five months seems like FOREVER, but I also know it'll fly by!

I haven't had a chance to do much planning these days (got tons going on with Miss Emma and lesson planning), but any chance I get I'm checking out the boards or just thinking about Disney! :cloud9:

Emma and I were at Walmart the other day and I went to peruse the junior department for Disney attire (since they never seem to have anything in the women's dept) and found one thing I like for the trip!

ladytrampshirt.jpg

To be honest, I haven't seen Lady and the Tramp in a long time (maybe 20ish years?). This gives me a perfect excuse to buy and watch it again!
I figure I don't have to go too overboard with Disney attire for this trip since we still have a couple of shirts from our last vacation, but every girl needs new clothes for every occasion! :snooty:

Here are the shots of clothes from our last trip!
My infamous Tink shirt that was too small by the time our trip came about! But I still wore it!!
5.jpg

And my Mickey & Minnie shirt (although this one is a little big now)
3.jpg

And here are J's two shirts I got him!

I'm sure as the trip gets closer I'll plan to hit up the Disney Store for some more clothes.

Now as far as any planning goes, we were running over things from our last trip that we liked/disliked. Our first day is going to (hopefully!) be fairly relaxed. Once we arrive to AKL we'll probably want lunch (always thinking about food). We made the hike over to Downtown Disney on our first day last time and I'm thinking we might do that again, especially since we're not going to a park that day. Again, our only definite plan is dinner at Boma (bring on the Zebra Domes).
If we make it over to DTD for lunch, I have a strong feeing we'll want to hit up Wolfgang Puck Express again. Oh my gosh that place was sooooo good!!
I'm tempted to order what we had last time!
Yummy salad with pecans, apples, blue cheese, etc
IMG_1540.jpg

And the meatball pizza! (notice the slice we took pre-picture. We were that hungry and it was that good!)
IMG_1539.jpg

Then we walk/shop around for a while, maybe take a few shots again!

Interesting fact, I noticed a few people on the Boards mention a gas station near DTD (Hess, I think?). Some people choose to buy grocery/alcohol items there since it's cheaper than resort shops and the parks. We bought some items from Garden Grocer, but you have to buy a minimum of $50 plus shipping and it was way more than we needed! I'm wondering if anyone reading has done that, or heard of it! If so, I'd love to hear your opinion!

Besides Boma, we have no plans for this day other than relaxing and enjoying the magic of Disney! :smickey:

I'd love to hear about Garden Grocer too, because I want to order water and have it delivered.
DTD for dinner for us too on the first night. I'm excited to eat at Earl of Sandwich. :thumbsup2

I never spend that much time at DTD. I've got to go for at least a week next time (i always seem to go 5 nights, I want 7 in 2012!) and take a day to chill and explore DTD...and the pool at my hotel :)

Love the Lady & the Tramp shirt!

One more note about WL...when you go in the main lobby, look for the totem pole of the Disney characters. Make sure you rub Humphrey the Bear's nose for an extra magical vacation!

Love that Lady and the Tramp shirt, and the grumpy one is very cute too!!!

Wolfgang pucks looks so good! My mum is on the QS dining plan for her May trip, and I think they should try wolfgang and Earl of Sandwich, both sound really good for a counter service meal!

We used Garden Grocer last time and it worked out pretty well. Unfortunately, you have to order at least $40 or $50 worth of stuff plus shipping plus tip...it just really started to add up. And the bad thing was we didn't use all of the food/beverages we ordered.

I cannot wait to go back to DTD! And more importantly to WPE!! If we decide to try and buy groceries from the gas station we may take a cab back to AKL. Last time it took us almost an hour+ to get back to our resort! J was not a happy camper.

It really is fun to go to DTD, although tempting if you don't have much $$$ to spend. And I think it's mandatory to go to WDW for at least 6 days to get in lots. Although I would love to spend 2+ weeks there. That way I can try to see everything and maybe even relax a little.

And I will definitely look for the totem pole! I think I've seen pictures of it on the internet. I am so excited about that place I can't stand it! :hyper:

Thank you! I'm sure I'll have to buy a few more items before we leave!

Oh my gosh! WPE was sooooo good! It was a great way to start out our trip! I wanted to try Earl of Sandwich, too, but I really can't wait to get that pizza again! YUM!! Although I'm thinking we may go to DTD twice, that way I can try both!!

Thanks for reading everyone! :flower3: We're about to have spring break here which will be nice. No plans except to hang out, oh! and celebrate my birthday. Although I doubt we'll do anything too fancy. I told J a nice dinner and maybe a little shopping would be nice.

Subbing for your PTR

Have to say as I started to read your story that you were bummed at missing the big girl rides, I was thinking "you'll miss them again while little Emma naps" :sad1:because that's what happened to me when DD was 3 1/2 ....but then I saw that you were not taking Emma:eek: so you'll get to all the grown up stuff :cool1: yeah for you!!!

I am only on p 1 - our fav Epcot place to eat is Akurshus Banquet hall for breakfast with the princesses & the BierGarten for dinner. We love german food & its hard to find it here in PA....which is ironic because there were so many German settlers here originally.

Wahoo for the WLR -- we love this place. We will be there in May.

reading on....

Thanks for the info on Garden Grocer. I'm not sure that I want to spend $$$ on extra food. I was just hoping to order some cases of water. Maybe there's someplace else that delivers for less. Thanks for answering me. :)

:welcome: and thanks for reading!!
That's exactly why we're justifying this trip! Some friends and family don't get why we're going again and not waiting til we can take Emma. They don't get it! :snooty::rolleyes: I'm really excited about just the two of us going!

We thought about Akershus, but I didn't want to totally overwhelm J with too many princesses! But rest assured we'll definitely hit it up when we bring Emma! :thumbsup2
There's actually a couple of really good German places around here to eat! Come to think of it, I think Dallas might have more restaurants than most states! It really is ridiculous. My running joke with Texas is our favorite hobbies are eating and shopping cause that's all that's around!

Ohhhh we are soooo pumped about staying at VWL! :woohoo: I will kind of miss the easy access of Epcot area hotels, but I think this resort is so beautiful!

Thanks for reading!

I read that Costco delivers water. If that's all you need you should consider looking at them! :thumbsup2

Sorry it's been a while since my last post. Last week was spring break and you'd think I would've had a bit more time. Uh, no. It seemed like we had something going on every day (doc appointments, meeting with friends, etc). Next thing you know it's Sunday evening and we're getting ready for the work week! Boo!!

We did celebrate my birthday (March 11, a sad day in history now :guilty:). J took me out to eat one evening then I hung out with some girl friends another night. I did get to treat myself to a little shopping! Got some new, desperately needed shoes! And I also bought (yet, another) Disney t-shirt from Walmart! I may have to check out their selections more often!
mickeyshirt.jpg
Gotta love the Mouse!!

Anyway, I looked at my ticker today and realized we have 4 months and two weeks left till our trip!! So in a couple of weeks my ticker will read 3+ months!! I can't believe how fast time is flying!

I wanted to post our plans for our first full day at Disney!

Sunday - Our first night will be the one and only at AKL, so I hope to get up early and check out. Fortunately Magical Express will take our luggage over to VWL, so this will help with our plans!

I plan/hope/pray to be at Magic Kingdom by Rope Drop! I've never seen the show and I really want to! The park opens at 9 so I'm thinking we might want to get there around 8:15, 8:30 at the latest. Once the gates open I want to head to Space Mountain! It was closed last time we went (so J missed it) and I haven't been on it since 1994!! Needless to say, we might be power walking to it! :lmao: If all goes well, we might try to grab some FPs. If there isn't much of a wait, we could attempt Buzz Lightyear. Missed that last time, too. And if time allows, we'd probably like to see Monster Inc, Comedy Laugh Floor. It was really cute last time!

Afterwards we might wander over to BTMR and possibly Splash Mountain. Again, this trip is about the big kid rides! :thumbsup2

We don't have too much time though cause we have brunch ressies at Kona at 10:30!! I can't wait for this!! Too many pics of the Tonga Toast and the Big Kahuna have me dying!!

After our (filling) breakfast we'll see where the wind takes us. Maybe walk around the Poly, go back to MK, we'll see. Eventually we'll go check into to VWL and hopefully get into our room. Let's all do a "Hope Dance" that we get a decent room! I've read so many people have had the dreaded "dumpster" room with not-so-good views and horribly loud noises. Either way, I'm sure the resort will be fantastic! :cloud9:

Our afternoon is pretty free. We may relax by the pool, take a nap, wonder around. Then we have dinner plans at 1900 Park Fare! I'm looking foward to the food and really hoping the step-sisters and step mother are there! I've heard they're awesome!

Once we fill our bellies (again!) we'll probably head over to Magic Kingdom again since it has EMH and is open til 2am!! I wonder how long we can both hang since we'll have another early morning ahead of us! But I know that the adrenaline will keep me going!!:rotfl:

And here' s a pic totally off-topic! Just have to do the mommy-thing and show my sweet little girl laughing her head off at me!:lovestruc:cloud9:

Thanks for reading everyone!!

I'm loving your PTR, your daughter is just precious! :lovestruc
I've been debating on maybe trying WPE on our arrival night if we decide to go to DTD that night...and I think you may have convinced me now! Looks good! :thumbsup2

Sounds like a relaxing take it as it comes day. I am jealous of your very late EMH. THe latest EMH night we have the whole we we are there in May is a single Midnight. :( pooh!

Your Emma is a cutie pie. I love the full out laughter!!!

I can't see the pictures cause I'm looking at this from work and work blocks the pics :( Booooo! But I'm sure Emma looks adorable! :)

Happy belated birthday!

I've never been to the MK rope drop either. I really need to go! The question is, can I get Kris out of bed and moving that early? :rotfl:

I hope you get a FANTASTIC view at VWL! When we stayed in the main hotel, we had a courtyard view of the pool & lake & the Contemporary off in the distance. It was awesome! I loved waking up to that every morning.

Sounds like a great first day! Very go with the flow :)

Hi Amanda! I just found your PTR. I am so excited you are planning another trip. We stayed at VWL last October and absolutely loved it! It was just so peaceful and the quiet pool was really nice. We tried Garden Grill in October based on your recommendation and loved it. We are going back this October and staying at BCV. I am so happy that little Emma is okay, that had to be so scary for all of you. Also, your birthday is one day after mine, so happy belated birthday!!

Thank you so much! Emma is awesome! :cloud9:
WPE is sooooo yummy! Hope I'm not talking it up, but it really is fantastic! I mean, it's Wolfgang Puck! ;)

I'm really looking forward to having a little down time while we're there. Of course the rest of the trip is going to be a Go, Go, Go! kind of experience.
I hope we can stay late! Last time there was a 2am EMH was our arrival day and J was ready to go to bed by midnight (sissy, hehe!). So hopefully he'll be willing to stay out a little later.

Rope drop is going to be a major attempt every day for us! J is pretty difficult in the mornings (not quite as chipper as yours truly). If I can manage to get coffee in him then he's good to go! :thumbsup2
I'm really hoping for a "decent" view! I know we won't spend too much time in the hotel, but I think we were spoiled by our view at BWV. Either way, I know we'll be happy to be there!:cloud9:

Subbing in! Your plans look awesome!!!
:welcome: and thanks!!
Can't wait to read about your upcoming trip!

Hey Nancy!! :welcome: aboard!
We are sooooo excited about staying there! I think J will appreciate feeling like he's in the cool, breezy mountains (even though we'll be in hot, humid Florida :lmao:).
So glad you guys liked Garden Grill! Again, that was the one place J really wanted to go back to. Gotta please those boys' bellies!
Emma is much better! Very scary day indeed. We're just praying it never happens again!
Thanks!! And happy belated birthday to you my pisces friend! :goodvibes

Thanks for reading everyone! I've been MIA for a few days with a horrible stomach bug. Still not fully recovered but at least I'm up and walking around (and keeping my food down). I was bed-bound for 2 1/2 days. So grateful my mom lives nearby so she could hang out with Miss Emma! :lovestruc
I hope to post here in a couple of days, but now I gotta get ready for my class tonight. Everyone have a great Tuesday!!

I read your PTR, 2009 TR and am all caught up on this PTR! You went from not being pregnant at all to having a 1 year old Emma all in a couple of days! ;)

Loved following along on your trip, and excited for you to go back and get to ride all the rides!
