We're having a girl! HELP with name

DH and I aren't having children - but if we DID, I would name my little girl Olivia Grace.

My name is Blakely. I am complimented all the time on my name. It's different if that is what you are looking for.

My DDs are Alexa Elaine (call her Lexie a lot & Elaine is a family name) and Alanna Nichole (pronounced Uh-Lan-Uh..some spell it with one "n").

Although I do like some of the ones mentioned already, here are two I did not see:

D'arcy or Darcy (grew up with a girl named this)
Shaely or Shaela (have a fancy girls' clothes store where I live called Shaely
Bugs - evidently the owner named it after her daughter)

My daughter is Alanna Grace...people who SEE the name actually say A-LANE-uh lol, but we pronounce it and spell it the same as you.

Other names I like for girls are
Brianna Marie
Sophia
Molly
Quinn

My girls are Megan Summer and Samantha Brooke. If Megan had been born the day before she would have been Jaime but we changed our mind at the last minute. I also like the name Serena. Some of the names of my girls friends are Nhyah, Brydie, Ashley, Trilby, Teagan, Matilda, Rose, Eliza, Tahlia.

Hello emmababy,

Please let me know finally what name did you decide ? If you are not still decided you can check at the websites. Now, there are many sites in this online world where you can search the names as well as the meaning of that particular name.

Thanks,
Jeniffer

My DDs are Delaney Sunshine and Jylian Danyel. DD6 has a friend in her class named Amelia which I looooove because it's pronounced Ahh-Muh-Lee-Uhh. I sooo badly want Analia (Ahh-Nuh-Lee-Uh) but DH says no. Sigh! 11 weeks pregnant here, for a boy I love Sullivan but DH & DD10 say NO WAY, hahaha so if it's a boy he will be Caden/Canon/Corbin Jedi and if she's a girl, Adyson Jayne/Journey. (The / means we haven't decided for sure which one, not that our kid would have a name with a slash! HAHAHAHA!).

You are welcome to any and all of my names. Sigh. Analia and Sullivan, so awesome yet so out of my reach. :rotfl2:

Oh, forgot to add! We both LOOOOVE Bailey and Ainsley for girls but Ainsley won't work with our last name.

I always had the hardest time picking names.....but i ended up LOVING them in the end. GOSH names are such a personal choice/decision and everybody has different styles they like, I didnt get to read all the replies but here are my girls names...All different styles to fit my different girls....

Anna Leigh...goes by Anna Leigh or Anna (sisters call her Ann Ann often)
Darby Marie...goes by Darby (sisters call her DarDar (they got it off of pooh)
Claire Ellen...goes by Claire

All my girls are names after family and if I had another girl (which isnt happenin) I would name her Elizabell or Eliza Belle??? Thats a family name to ;)

My daughter is Alanna Grace...people who SEE the name actually say A-LANE-uh lol, but we pronounce it and spell it the same as you.

My DD's name is Elena (pronounced A-LANE-uh). I thought we went with the "traditional spelling" for the name, but people spell it all sorts of ways, including Alanna and Alana.

My daughter's name is Caitlyn...when I was pregnant I had read an Irish myth and this is basically the idea...Irish princess Caitlyn give her soul to the devil to save her village. In seeing that she was so giving and selfless, God restored her soul and banished the devil.

My daughter loves that story! LOL

I used that spelling, because I couldn't believe that i actually found something that spelled her name that way. :)

Have you thought about using a family member's name?

If our new little one ends up being a girl we'll be using my grandmother's first name for a middle name. Alejandra. :) The nice thing is that it has the same meaning as my mom's name, so it's like we will be honoring both my mom and my grandma. :goodvibes

We did this. I had my heart set on the name Lily since I was a teenager, and it worked out to be my husband's grandmom's name. Apparently on my dad's side there was a terrible woman named Lily that put a bad taste in every one's mouth and they begged me not to name her that. SO, we took family names Sue, Annette, and Suzanne and found Susannah which means Lily. It's a classic name but is still pretty rare these days and it has a ton of meaning to all the grandmas cause they all think she was named after them :). We call her Zanny because that was what she always called herself before she could say Susannah.

My favorites are Natalie, Paige, Audrey & Addison. Congratulations on the new addition!:cloud9:

Here's what we did:
We're not big into naming kids after close relatives, like Dad or Grandma.

But, when we were stuck for dd's name, we thought of the larger circle of people we know - family friends, etc. - and came up with someone who just had a really beautiful presence about her... a woman who, honestly, we didn't know all that well but who we both felt had a... certain something that we admired.

We used her name for our DD. We've always said that she wasn't "named after" anyone, but that her name was "inspired by" this very dear woman.

So think out of the immediate box and see if there's a name with a great connection for you!

My daughter is Samantha Rae. It didn't seem popular in 1992.

since I am done having babies, my leftover names are:

Ashylnn
Brie
Devon
Shaine/Shayne

Yes, the last two are for girls also ;)

congrats on our baby girl :yay:

So you already have an Emma and a Nash.

I would suggest Sophie for your daughter. Sophie and Emma are both names that are in the dutch royal family.

I like royal names: Emma, Sophie, Juliana, Wilhelmina, Anne, Elizabeth, Catherina, Victoria.

How about Jordyn! My girl's name!

We also considered:

Jorjia
Julianna
Janeen
Bryce
Brianna
& Sara

Good luck & congrats!

My 2 girls are named

Stella Rae
Georgia Kate

I also like Charlotte, Amelia, Scarlett, Gabriella & Colette oh and Gillian

Whatever you choose, go with something you and your husband really love -- everyone will have an opinion about the name, but it's your choice. Also I wouldn't put too much concern into making the name "fit" with siblings. Your baby will spend the majority of her life as part of a couple(most likely) than as "Emma, Nash and Blank."
Our DD8 is Sydney -- no one had any issues with it -- It's pretty and we still love it, but is very popular-- has one other girl in her class and many other girls in her school.
Our DS6 is Leo --my Mom didn't like it at first(said it was too old fashioned)-- but we LOVED it. It's unusual but not weird, and the only other Leo I know is a friend' grandfather.
Our youngest daughter(almost 2) we named Elliot. We kept it under wraps until after she was born. My mother and about any one else her age hated it. She said her friends want to know why we gave our girl a boys name. But about everybody else goes nuts for the name. And so far I've only met one other Elliot(who also happened to be a girl -- I called grandma right away to tell that one).
That said, and I think someone else mentioned it too: my name choice if we ever had another girl would be Charlie (another "boy" name I know).
