I can't tell you how excited I am for our upcoming trip. You must be out of this world excited because you only have one more day. You are so lucky! I can't wait to read you TR when you get back. We're still a little disappointed we won't be meeting but completely understand why we can't.

You should take the leap and get another doggie. Hannah is getting up in years so when something happens it is going to be so devastating. She raised Daisy from 5 weeks and Daisy sleeps on top of her every night. She cries when Hannah and she are separated. We are very attached to Hannah. She is a special girl.

Not to go on and on but we adopted her from the Humane Society. She is a full blooded black lab. Her owners didn't keep her up and she became impregnated by a stray. In the breeding world that makes her tainted if you will. The owners dumped her at the HS pregnant. She had 8 puppies. She did so well they gave her 4 orphan pups and she nursed them also. She is an excellent mama. Of course she was taken care of so she can't reproduce again. When we got her she was a bag of bones. Not anymore!

Okay, I'll move on. Sorry for the long story. We just love our dog and will definitely adopt again. Unfortunately black dogs are the last dogs to be adopted-black dogs are euthanized more often than any other color. She has been such an excellent addition I just had to share.

Hannah sounds like such a sweetie too. It's so sad when they get older . I have heard that black dogs are usually last to be adopted too. When my older dog passes we will probably adopt a rescue too. So many sweet dogs need a good home.

I will never buy a dog from a breeder or pet store again. You are right-animals in shelters or rescues do make some of the best pets. Have a great trip!!!

Thanks Nichole! Daisy is always the life of the party. I don't think she ever sits still. As a cocker spaniel everyone is apprehensive of her because they are usually mean spirited dogs. Not our Daisy. She is a big sweetie. I think Hannah has a lot to do with that.

We hav mainly had dogs that we knew the people from ! Our very nicest dog waa Black Lab/Newfie Doly was wonderful! We did just buy our Max from a breeder and he is adorable and has changed my mind about small dogs !I do agree shelterdogs make great pets !!

I forgot to add this. One of the nurses that works in the nursery with me got her son a black lab for his birthday Saturday. She adopted it from the Animal Shelter here. She said that was the sweetest dog she had ever seen. It was already spayed, microchipped, wormed and had all of her shots. She is 12 weeks old. That is very interesting about black dogs though.

our Daisy is called "crazy Daisy" too. She is bit high strung but very sweet. She is a little Shih Tzu ( 8lbs.). It must be the name .

We also got Faith from the Humaine Society! She is not a pure bred though. Refuses to swim....I had originally wanted a yellow lab but she was there. I worry cause it gets so hot here. And sometimes she lays outside when it is 100+ degrees. I have to yell "you are black, it is scrorching-get inside"
I also read on a ptr that you are allergic to penicillon-me too. Had a anaphalatic reaction when I was 22. Got epi and the whole nine yards. Both girls seem ok for now. Though since I took it just fine for 22 years I wonder...

Very, very busy weekend but lots of fun. Daisy is a wild child and provides lots of entertainment. Forgive me for asking because I should already know this but are you coming to the EPCOT DIS meet? If not we should arrange a mini meet.

Hooray for adopting a black lab! I found Hannah at a Humane Society booth set up outside of a local Kroger store. I had my friend with me (she had her 3 girls) and I had Lindsey. All four of the girls were pulling on her and petting her and Hannah never flinched. The lady running the booth told me Hannah's story. Hannah looked really bad but I took her for a little walk anyway. The rest is history. She's been laying at my feet for 7.5 years now.

Are we long lost sisters or what???? Luckily neither of the girls have shown signs of being allergic to penicillin. I was really, really sick when I had my reaction. It was the scariest thing I've ever been through...don't want to go through that again.

Joe brought home a male yellow lab about a week before I found Hannah. This dog was beautiful and so big. The first thing he did was get excited and knock Lindsey over and scared the fire out of her. Joe took him back to the owner. Hannah gets under our pool deck when it's hot outside but I usually let her inside. She's too old and too fat to be outside when it's 100 or 30 outside.

Having a pretty good Tuesday. Thanks for asking. It has been cool and overcast here the last two days. I wish it would warm up and stay that way.Sorry your allergies aren't cooperating. Hopefully it will get better.

I've been doing a lot of web surfing and I think we are definitely going to New Smyrna Beach on our beach day. It appears to be a perfect fit for us. Since I'm renting a convertible I think it will be cool to drive on the beach. I'be also been checking out charters in the area because I'm kind of considering getting Joe a fishing trip for his birthday. He says not to get him anything but I wouldn't feel right with that.
