We're going back to Walt Disney World in May 09!...pics added

Racefan, what did your dr give you? Just out of curiosity! I can't seem to lose either, and I've tried quite a bit!!! My problem is I'm not that active because of the rare type of Muscular Dystrophy I have, but that's a WHOLE nother problem!! LOL

He gave me phentermine. I have been taking it since September. It is a stimulant so it increases your metabolism and helps burn calories. It also increases heart rate and blood pressure and that is why they have to keep a close check on it. My doctor will give it to his patients only and then only for a 6 month period with 2-3 months off then he will give it again for another 6 months and that is it. He is my OB/GYN and a wonderful doctor.

Made it back from Mississippi tonight. What long days. Luckily the plant and my hotel had wireless and I was able to sneak in a few posts during my stay! I'm am diligently working on housework, planning, and shopping for our Mom's Club Celebration party this weekend. I have lots to do. I'm pretty confident that I'm leaving work early tomorrow. I will try to break away every now and then to feed my addiction to the boards. :goodvibes

Have a great night all!

I was bone skinny before I had my kids too. Then years later after losing, gaining, losing, gaining............well you get the picture. I gave up. Then I got on the scale and was SHOCKED :scared1: at my weight. I tried to talk my Dr into giving me something to help and he never would. Well, long story, and 43 less pounds later, I got a new Dr and he gave me some diet pills. I still have 2 weeks of pills left so I am hoping to drop at least 2 more pounds. I have had to go in once a month for blood pressure and weight checks but it is soooooooooooooo worth it. Anyone who hasn't struggled with their weight thinks it is just a "don't eat so much" problem, but they just don't have a clue. I eat less than my best friend, by far, and she is skin and bones. Don't give up.
Thanks for the words of encouragement. I'm not going to give up too easy. Good luck on those last two pounds.

Sounds like you have done excellent with phentermine. I have some friends who have been really successful using that medicine. My friend Wendy has lost over 90 pounds. It clearly works well for most people. Your doctor sounds wonderful.

The encouragement you get from everyone else is great, but what you get from yourself is priceless. I know I sound like an infomercial but it is true. If you have the will power you will do it. The pill helps for a little while but then it is guilt.....................lol.
It really is a good drug. I have learned how to eat while on it so I hope I s tick to the same eating habits when off it. And I have to say the same ole same ole, "If I can do it you can do it" but it is true in this case. I love to eat. Especially real food. You know that ole southern type food................:lmao: It may seem like you aren't losing, but go by how your clothes fit more that what the scale says. As women we hold weight diffrently at diffent times of the month and retain water more at times than at others.

Any time you need a little encouragement just yell. If you want to PM me just do so. I will be more than happy to give you my phone number and be your support if you need it.

OOO I forgot about the party!!! Make sure you take lots of pictures!!! And above all else, HAVE FUN!!!!

Congratulations on your weight loss! I'd take .6 right now. I was so thin before kids and lost the pg weight after Lindsey then after Josie I lost only some of it and have struggled every day since. It has been really bad the last few months. I've been working harder than ever and nothing. It's a downer. I'm definitely going to talk to my Doctor about the possibilities. I'm quickly approaching my 35th b-day so I think that has a major role to play also. I'm not giving up though. I'm going to keep at it until a doctor or someone gives me a reason not too.

I'm the same way :goodvibes I wore a bikini 6 weeks after having Kaylee. After I had Thomas :scared: I didn't even want to look in the mirror. I went from 106- 140 lbs. (I'm 5"2") . he was a 10 pound baby, so I have quite the tummy pouch. I think your have a great attitude and are working hard. It will pay off. So hard to lose weight once your 35, I know I'm 36. Phentermine scares me though. It makes your heart race and also makes most people irritable too. Alot of women I know have gained their weight back too. Sometimes I'm tempted but I think I'd rather have 15 extra pounds then have my heart get damaged. Just be careful if you ever decide to use it.

Anyway good luck with your party! I can't wait to see the pictures :).

I bet part of what is going on is that you are building muscle!!! Muscle is heavier than fat. Are you noticing that you are more firm and toned

Have a great night all!

The party sounds like so much fun!!!

It was a beautiful day here in KY. The girls went to an Easter egg hunt sponsored by Girl Scouts. They had a really good time. My entire troop showed up and everyone was on time so I was very pleased. The great thing about Girl Scouts for us is that they allow Josie to participate in most events as a tagalong even though she isn't a Girl Scout. Here are some pics of the girls with their eggs and Lindsey with one of Lindsey with a craft.

Oh my gosh, so adorable!!! It would be impossible for them to get any cuter!!:goodvibes

You are right, phentermine can cause your heart to race and raise your blood pressure. That is why my doctor keeps a close watch on his patients. I haven't had the problem and I am irritable anyway.......:lmao: so that change would be hard to notice. On the serious side it can cause damage so you have to be very careful about going to a doctor that is going to monitor you and not just write a script.

I will be eating cake for the next 2 months............lol. Tomorrow is my son Tyler's birthday he will be 20, my daughter Amanda will be 21 in 2 weeks and then Dallas' birthday party at Disney. I will be sick of cake.......

Have a great party :cheer2:.

I got out of there early and have been running ever since. Got all the party shopping done, some laundry, dishes, spring cleaning. Need to dust, mop, vaccuum and cook. Tomorrow will be another busy day! I'll try to get on here though. :goodvibes

Thanks Nichole! I'm going to try diet and exercise until I meet with my doctor. Probably going to get some lab work done to see if I have some thyroid issues going on. I will be sure to get some pictures posted from the party by the end of the weekend. Have a great holiday!

Have fun at your PARTY:woohoo:
Thanks! We're going ot try our best. :yay:

Thanks for the kind words about my girlies. They are my pride and joy. :goodvibes I hope you're right about the muscle thing. That would make me very happy. You have less than 5 days until you're trip. I bet you can't wait. I would be beside myself. :goodvibes

We eat a lot of cake in May, June, and July. Joe's b-day is in May (the 17th), mine, Lindsey's, and FIL's birthday's are in June, and my mom and our anniversary is in July. Not only do I eat a lot of cake, I also stay broke from buying presents. :lmao:

Happy 20th Birthday to Tyler!

Just giving you a little bump! Did you guys dye eggs tonight??
Thanks for the bump! No eggs dyed as of yet. I bought to big kits and thought that this might be a cool craft to do at the party. I bought the ones with stickers, markers, glitter, etc. I think the kids will like it. I will boil the eggs tomorrow so all the kids will have to do is decorate. Should be fun.

Have you guys dyed eggs?

I dyed eggs last night in between watching Survivor and Hell's Kitchen, didn't take pictures, I got the eggs still in the fridge, so I can take pictures tonight. DH took my camera up to my dad's house to go fishin, told him if he "float tests" my camera, I'm gonna "hammer test" his!!! HAHA Maybe I can post pictures of fish too!! HAHA

Just wanted to celebrate being a DIS veteran!!

:banana::rotfl2::yay::woohoo::dance3::cheer2::dancer:party:

I'll celebrate with ya. :cool1::banana::lovestruc:woohoo::yay::dance3::cheer2::dancer:<<<<<<<<<<<I LOVE THIS DUDE.party::jumping1:

Sorry, I kinda get carried away by a Disney celebration.

Had to add this. I am watching Totally 80's and Tone-Loc is singing Funky Cold Medina the dancing dude is keeping up with it..............:lmao:

I had to add this too. There is a doctor at the hospital, where I work, who is from Kentucky and he use to talk about The Land Between the Lakes all the time. And everything I think about KY that is what comes to mind :confused3Another co-worker of mine is from KY and she talks about missing it up there so much. Just had to add that totally useless bit of information for some reason :confused3.

OH and this too. I noted that Joe seems to have a little color in his beard....:rotfl: So does Dale, but this is his explanation " You're crazy, it isn't gray, it is the way the sun is shinning off of my beard so it looks blonde"........................:lmao::rotfl::rotfl2:. Now Dale is 47 and has black hair, where is the blonde? :rolleyes1:rolleyes:
