Do we need raincoats for sept 17 to 24

Yes but I don't want to be broke from paying for something that I can bring with me. Would rather waste money on disney stuff for grandkids.

Yep, frankly, I think in over 40 years of going during just about every month of the year, I've only had about 3 trips where it didn't rain at least one day. Sept. is hurricane season so you are just about guaranteed to have at least an afternoon shower. Could be a quick 10 min. semi-light rain, could be a 30 min. gully washer, could be a couple of hours yucky rain, could be a most of the day rain. You never know. I never go to the parks without at least a cheap poncho that can fit in a pocket. I'll be there Sep. 13 - 19 and will be taking a few cheap ponchos, a Disney heavier poncho, a rain jacket and an umbrella. I just depends on what the weather forecast looks like on the day as to what I actually take into the parks. I also take a wet bag to fold my poncho/rain jacket/umbrella into after use so it doesn't drip all over me or my bag.

You can purchase disposables at Dollarama but they will struggle to keep up with the intensity of Disney rain and wind. Pro is they’re small and can be tossed.

We choose to take something more resilient but it does mean carrying them and then drying at night. The one I love is from IKEA but they haven’t sold them in years. I’m looking to purchase Frogg Togg brand for my daughter.

You'll probably see people wearing large trash bags -- they cut a hole in the bottom of the bag for the head, and smaller holes for the arms. Desperate times call for desperate measures.

we were at Universal once and it started pouring. one of the employees gave my wife and I trash bags to use as ponchos and said don't tell anyone!!

We bought new rain ponchos on Amazon before trip …so far this week have not used 😂 It has rained - just happens to have coincided with when we have been taking a break. (Afternoon showers most common)

Always best to have one - because guarantee it will rain when you don’t.

Funny story - not Disney related but my sister and I recently went to Niagara Falls and we saved the rain ponchos from there to use when needed. We dried them then rolled them up and store them in baggies. We actually took them back to Niagara Falls just in case it rained.
I think Dollarama also sells disposable rain coats but not sure as I bought them years ago and they fold up small.

I would just bring the ponchos from Dollarama and umbrellas. So many times we’ve brought our ponchos but never even needed them. It rained, but not for long or we stayed inside until the heavy rain passed. It will still be very warm in September and raincoats will just take up luggage space.
