Hey all. I haven't really posted anything in awhile, but I just wanted to say that Jason and I were married last Thursday and just got back yesterday. We had the best time and I really can't believe how fast everything went. I think I'm going to work on a trip report...who doesn't love to talk about their wedding and when I was planning I found the TRs really helpful. I really can't wait to see our pics. We used Randy for the ceremony, so we used our Disney photography credit for a Honeymoon shoot at Epcot. We also did a dessert party in Morocco and Jason surprised me with the MK Castle shoot for the morning after the wedding....yes, crane and all. They were also rehearsing for the Christmas show that morning so I'm sure there's going to be a lot of photoshop involved. More to come...

CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! that is awesome!! i hope you had an amazing time and that your marriage is as terrific as your wedding!! :goodvibes

oh--and i forgot to ask you about your dessert party in morocco! i haven't seen many people who have had one there, and i would love to know all the details! we are hosting one there the weekend before our wedding for our guests. congrats again! and thanks!

Congratulations- CANT WAIT to see the photos and hear about it all. I hope you are planning on a big trip report!!

I’ll spare everyone the details from every day of our trip since we were there for 8 days, so I’ll just stick to the wedding related events. Plus we did so much I’m not sure I remember everything. :rotfl2:

Why we chose Disney:
Last year Jason planned a surprise trip for us to Disney. A few months beforehand I was told we were going somewhere, but had no other clues. All I knew was the dates to ask off for at work. About two weeks prior to leaving I came home after work to the Disney planning DVD playing and of course I knew right away where we were headed. We stayed at AKL for 6 nights and the whole trip was absolutely wonderful. He proposed at Cinderella’s Royal Table on our 5 year anniversary (another total surprise). My mom was the one who mentioned Disney Weddings. Jason had told our parents about the trip and the proposal before we left and my mom had done some research on the Disney Weddings. My brother had gotten married in Vegas a year earlier, so she wasn’t counting on a traditional ceremony. On our last day we scouted the locations, mostly out of curiosity, but we totally fell in love with Sunset Pointe. Fast forward about a month and we made the decision to do a Disney wedding. We went through some heart break after finding out about the new number of guests limit at Sunset Pointe, and “settled” on the Wedding Pavilion. In the end, we were so happy with the WP and were glad it didn’t work out at SP. My parents offered to pay for an Intimate Ceremony, so we decided to have the ceremony on our 6 year anniversary, Nov 2. If we were paying there would not have been a Disney wedding, so I was very grateful for that.

Planning & the stress of planning:
The planning part went fairly easy I think. I'm fairly easy going, so I wasn't too crazy about all the details. There wasn’t too much that we wanted to add or change, so that helped. Tanis was our coordinator and was an absolute pleasure to work with. Of course it’s always difficult to figure out the logistics of everything, but everyone knew that this was our day and were supportive. We’re actually really lucky that our family was so cooperative. Everyone said just tell us where and when and we’ll figure out the rest. Most of the final details were decided when we submitted our contract. I've never been one of the people that had a vision of their wedding and I didn't really spend months picking out my jewelry or flowers. I would say "today I'm picking out my necklace" and would check it of my list. Rosie pretty much picked my flowers for me :rotfl: I told her I wanted purple and green and not too fancy, so she suggested lilies and orchids and I said Perfect! :woohoo:

Despite the ease in planning, I was stressed. I was literally losing my hair. I set a goal to lose 40 pounds and we decided to move from our apartment to, wait for it…my parents basement! Yeah, I’ll never do that again. I did good with the weight loss part, so I fit into my dress that I bought 3 sizes too small. Although if I had to do it again, I’d just alter it down. The moving part was hard, but we made it and in the end when we’re debt free and able to buy a house it will be worth it. Why we decided to do this and plan a wedding, I’ll never know. We were in the initial planning stages for our at home reception but we put that on hold. I had a hard time with my parents spending more money and it was just too much to think about. So we’ll address that in the new year.

Congratulations, Amy! And I'm very glad you started a trip report. Everything sounds great so far. That's amazing that you were able to come down three dress sizes... I have to admit I'm not doing anywhere that well! We'll also be having a DP in Morocco, so I can't wait to read all about it. :cheer2:

Congratulations Amy and Jason! I'm glad to hear that the wedding went wonderfully. I can't wait to read all about it. Enjoy being newlyweds!

:wizard: THank you for writing a TR. I have learned so much from so many brides who have done this. I can't wait to hear more about your wedding. Congratulations!! :sunny:

BTW - I feel your pain when you talked about moving back in with your folks. I lived with mine up until last year and now we intermittently live with his mother when she comes up from her FL house. I can't wait to have our own house!! Hopefully soon after we come home from our wedding!! ;) Good luck. Being debt free is more important. It took us a long time to get there. But we are now and we are able to pay for our wedding without using a credit card. It's a great feeling! :goodvibes

Keep the TR coming.... :Pinkbounc

Congratulations! Can't wait to hear more, and see pics of course! What a sweet surprise for you to get the MK photoshoot.
