well, that's it. our 'return to the magic' week is over.
we did have a great time and here are our highs and lows:
highs:
-dancing with the characters at the disneyland hotel - i'd heard about this 4pm meet and greet before but never managed it and it was so magical!!
-cafe mickey - and mickey mouse in particular who kept coming back to my two kids(without us calling for them in any way) for more kisses, cuddles and tickles (much to the annoyance of the other tables who he didn't go back to!) i think the characters love finding kids who will properly interact with them, we noticed this a few times on this trip.
- packed lunches! we stayed at the cheyenne and made up rolls for lunch (as did many others!) and brought crisps, juice, snack bars and sweets with us. this ment that we only had to buy one meal a day which cost about E50 for all four of us so a pretty cheap week.
- standing at the back of the cars and stars and showtime spectacular to meet the characters - Amy and i have become autograph hunters and really enjoyed it. again, we didn't just get autographs but asked for photos and talked and interacted with them - and again that ment that they kept coming back to us, sully and emile in particular who i think get ignored by alot of people but my kids loved them!
lows:
- the queues, i hadn't realised that it was a french holiday and the queues were so much longer and the park generally more busy. we went may/june half term last time and that was nowhere near as busy.
- overdoing it! we left the hotel at 7.50 every morning and didn't get back until 7.30ish and by the last day (day 5) i was shattered. i think this has to be a lesson that it's not worth it and i must remember to take more breaks next time!
another fantastic holiday and i'm pleased that my 2.5 year old son now can say and recognise all the character! that's my boy!
