Back from the world as of yesterday. This trip was an extra summer trip because of the summer codes. We stayed at Caribbean Beach on the $94.00 a night summer code. Our last day was spent in a studio at the Beach Club Villas. Wow - what a nice place. I'm really glad we did this - stay at a moderate and then switch over to DVC. It just reinforced our decision to buy our DVC. You really can't compare a moderate to even a DVC studio. DVC wins hands down for us. I do have to say Caribbean Beach was in good shape (rooms newly decorated). Their staff was great and super friendly. Caribbean beach reminds me a tiny bit of Old Key West, but Old Key West is prettier. More flowers and Old Key West has hot tubs at all their quiet pools! Old Key West has those great porches too.
At the Beach Club Villas we stayed in a dedicated studio. We got all our room requests. We asked for top floor and got it. We were in room 539. Our room was ready at 11:00 (I couldn't believe it!). I got a welcome home from the Beach Club front desk. They were great at check-in. The ice machine was right around the corner from our room. Off our balcony we could see the top of the Tower of Terror, the Dolphin hotel, and Boardwalk sign, and a few buildings in World Showcase. We heard the fireworks, but didn't see them. The room was beautiful - everything new and perfect! I made my daughters take their shoes off! They were laughing at me, but I don't care. I feel like it's my house!
We had pictures taken at Studio M at downtown Disney. We did the ones where you pick your background and they take a picture of you against a green screen and then insert you into the background. It was great!
Can't wait to try out our other home resort in October - the Villas at Wilderness Lodge.
