The dad came back with a PATHETIC counter-offer Friday..he upped the pay to what we had decided on in Feb. but said I have to take my 4 vacation weeks at half pay. Um no. There isn't much difference between me doing that and taking the original paycut he told me about on Thurs. So I said no. The mom called me hysterically crying Friday AM. Said she is not going to let him do this and I WILL be back in the fall. I told her that even if I come back he will probably treat me like s**t b/c he isn't used to a woman telling him what to do..which is what would happen when I come back with all my vacation pay INTACT! So she said to give her a few weeks to work on him. Whatever. DH and I are waiting desperately on a few big business' to buy insurance from him..if even one of them comes through I won't have to worry about this mess. So keep your fingers crossed!!!

i just saw this! i don't know how i missed it before. anyway, let us know if you've heard anything about all this! i hope she comes through for you.

Sci-fi is one of the TS I am most excited about this trip!! I am so glad you all liked it b/c the reviews are usually terrible!!

one tip about sci-fi (i can't remember if i've told you this or not)......order a burger! their burgers and shakes are good. even at dinner, you can ask for a burger. it's not on the menu then but they still serve them. i can't remember if you're going for dinner or lunch. we're going back there in december because i figured luke would love the eating-in-a-car thing. i think i'm gonna try the rueben then, though.

speaking of............erica - you say the reubens are good there? i think i'd like it without the 1000 island dressing.

I have been MIA , I think I read they have great rubens. I've been there a couple of times but it's been years ago and I honestly can't remember what I ordered. But if I'm in a sandwich mood and the rest. has a ruben I'm usually getting it.....I think it's hard to screw those up!!

Oh and I the 1000 Island dressing....I usually ask for more

Sorry guys for being MIA!! Somehow I deleted my own subscription to my TR!! I had no idea you guys were posting!!

So update #1-

Stefan is going! Apparently his dad stopped talking to him for no reason a few weeks ago so I guess he feels he has nothing to lose. What a jerk. I owe my dad some money so I was going to buy their 3 park tickets from undercovertourist last weekend. My dad's gf told me to hold off on Stefan's...just in case. I think they are $15 more at the gate but she is ok with that. So I just got the two for them and one for my sister. can't beat $219, no tax or shipping, for a 6 day, no PH!!!

update #2-

Well...after trying to find a nanny for cheaper me then me, the jerk I worked for failed MISERABLY!! Good. I guess he had a few people tell him no way for that piddly money and then he had two no shows for interviews. Hmm...could you get what you pay for? Yeppers. So two days ago my boss called and said "he gave me permission" (WTH is that about??) " to ask you back." I lied and said I had 3 interviews this week to follow up on. I talked to Ray and he doesn't want me to go back to work for them. He doesn't trust them to not pull this again and he said the dad really spit in my face with all this. Only after he couldn't find better he decided to come back to me. We are trying to rig it so I don't have to go back to work...my best friend is having a baby in Jan and she wants me to watch it. If so I will make a little under 1/2 what I would if I went back to this dumb job. I kinda left my boss hanging..which is fine with me after what they pulled. I will probably call Monday and tell her the truth...that I don't trust the dad and am not comfortable working for them.

PHEW!! Sorry for that run-around.

I have been calling daily to try and get our 9:05pm ADR for Ohanas changed to an earlier time, for Ty's sake. No go. If worse comes to worse we can go to Trails End or Ty can sleep when we are there. I have no idea why I originally made it for that late.

No countdown calendar here....I just have one on my dry erase board that I change every morning. I might do one for the December trip though since I am more excited for that one. Not that I'm not excited for the upcoming trip but I think the Dec. one will be more special!! I need to touch base with Dawn again about a Photopass share for Dec!

Last night I confirmed with my FIL in that he will be able to pick up my sister and take her to the airport. Remember...our flight leaves at 6am and hers around 5PM! She doesn't have a license, or car, so someone needs to give her a lift. He said np. I told him I would give him gas money b/c she won't think of that but he said not to worry about it. I do plan to head over to her apt. that Sat night and help her with her ME tags and go over the ME info again. I did last week but I am sure it went in one ear and out the other!

and so funny that they finally asked you back to work. i don't blame you for not wanting to go back. when i left the firm i used to work for in atlanta they decided to tell me on the very last day of my two-week notice that i wouldn't be getting my last paycheck because they switched me to receivables. so i told her that i wouldn't be covering the last deposition they had me scheduled for an hour later. i just couldn't do more work for someone that pulled something like that. it was underhanded and dishonest. so they had to find someone to cover that job and believe me, doing that in an hour is no easy task. oh, well! that firm is now out of business. karma's a b*tch! sounds like the dad's getting his now too!!!

I have to call her tomorrow and let her know....I am nervous about not working anymore. Granted, I have waited a long time to have a family and make them my #1 priority but I have also never been jobless. I just have to have faith it will all work out and I hope to pick up a kid or two that needs before/after school care. DH has been having some luck at work lately, (1 year coming!!) so fingers crossed.

Sounds like that job kinda did the same to you. I think the dad waited to tell me on my last day b/c then I couldn't walk out on him before the summer. Sneaky. Especially since we had this all settled, or so I thought, before Ty was born! I do like karma

On a pre-trip note...........
I started packing a bit today. Mostly things for Ty. It figures that now that we have him in tow, AirTran charges for a 2nd checked bag, pp. So I am trying to cram all of our stuff in two suitcases and two carry-ons.

I am also using wegoshop.com to have groceries delivered. I think it's only a $17 delivery fee and well worth it!! My dad and I are splitting the order. Mostly breakfast items although I am also ordering diapers, wipes and baby food. We are scheduled to get the delivery Sunday afternoon..I expect to be to SSR by noon.

Anyway...I'm Tara!! DH (Ray) and I got married last April and had our first baby, Ty, in March. I must add that he was conceived in Disney last year...something I failed to mention in that TR! I currently work as a nanny so I can take DS to work with me (summers off!!) and DH sells life insurance. He just finished 11 years as a Navy recruiter last year.

Spirit of Aloha Dinner Show

We bought into DVC last summer with leftover wedding gift money and it's been the best thing for our family!! We are going 8/17-8/23 this year and then again for Christmas, 12/17-12/26. But this upcoming trip is a first for us b/c we are bringing my dad, his fiance, her son (20 yo) and a late trip-joiner, my sister (25 yo).

It wasn't until a few months ago that my sister was added to the trip. She is a recovering alcoholic with about 120 days sober! I told her back in April that if she stayed on track through August DH and I would pay for half her trip. So far so good. She booked her flights last month and is saving up for spending money. DH and I will take care of her ticket and food. She'll also be staying in our room. Honestly though, sales have been tough lately for DH so I am regretting my offer but a promise is a promise and I will make it work.

We are going to be staying in two studios at SSR...hopefully they will be close together but of course, no guarantees

Last year was our first trip "home" to SSR and we loved it!!! I wasn't sure how I would feel about being so close to Downtown Disney but I actually preferred it. I enjoyed sitting out on our balcony and hearing the music from DD. Very relaxing.

Because my sister didn't join on until recently she wasn't able to get the flights we booked in Oct. We are arriving in Orlando around 10am on the 17th but she won't get in until after 11pm!! It was the best I could do on her budget of $100 per flight. She doesn't mind though. We are eating at CMC the first night and she hates steamed clams so I guess it all works out. She is nervous about Magical Express by herself but I think she will be fine!!

That's about all I have time for now...Ty is waking from his morning nap! I will be back soon..thanks for starting another journey with me!

I don't know if they will be up?
But we went Sept. 22-OCt. 1 2007 and
they were up!! We stayed at POP last year also!!

What is it you would like to know about Free Dining? Or are you asking if we know about it? I am not eligible b/c I am DVC. Punkin413 and Vandy are going for it in early Sept I think!

Oh, so if you are a DVC then you can not get free dining?

When you stay at your DVC resort you aren't buying a Magic Your Way Package, which you need to in order to get the free dining. Plus, I have an annual pass so I don't need park tickets. If I wanted to stay somewhere and pay cash and also buy at least a 1 day park ticket then I could get it but it just wouldn't be worth it.

I am considering getting an annual pass and the DDE for 2009. I might go twice so I am trying to figure it all out. Too bad I can't just move there every summer and go everyday....

As for your job situation... that dad is crazy. Childcare is so important... he was lucky to have a nanny like you.
