This will have to be short since I have a sleeping baby in one arm!

Thanks so much for all the prayers and good wishes. We just got home a few hours ago, and we're all fine. Baby Jacob only has a few signs of being early, and he's very healthy. I had prepared for a natural delivery and was very overwhelmed at first when I realized that all of my plans were falling apart, but we got a wonderful boy, and I'm completely satisfied. My contractions started almost immediately after my water broke, so they decided to let nature take its course when I got to the hospital. I did end up having to get an epidural after I had 10 hours of contractions less than 2 minutes apart and was a whopping 2 cm, but it was much better than I thought it would be. I got a wonderfully healthy (and big!) baby out of the process, so that is what counts.

Thanks again for all the kind thoughts and congratulations. DH couldn't believe it when he saw how many people replied to his post. I told him I was very popular. Don't PM him and tell him any different.

I am glad that things went well for you. It can be crazy when your plans change but now that you have a little one get used to your plans changing all of the time.

I know all about that no progress thing. I labored for about 17 hours and the best they could say is "you might be about 1 cm".

Baby Jacob is just too beautiful for words.
