First off, let me say that I have not been to Orlando a ton of times. We went to Disney three years ago when our kids were 7 1/2 and 5 years old We only did Disney and had a blast. It was a fantastic vacation to see Disney through their eyes.My triplets turned 5 when we were there and they felt very special at Disney.
Since then, Harry Potter opened up and our oldest two have read all the books and have been begging to go. I too enjoyed HP and was interested in seeing it. We told them when the trips were big enough to ride almost everything, we could return.
We went after school was out on June 1st. I purchased 5 days Disney and 2 at Universal. I wish we had done more Universal than Disney! Our favorite Disney park by far was HS. My girls decided to get back into princesses for this trip, so they enjoyed them at the Disney parks and my boys enjoyed riding Space Mountain because it was down for refurb when we went before. Plus, my kids are always up for anything, so we enjoyed our time at Disney. No one complained at all. However, Universal was just so much more interesting! My kids love rides and all of us were blown away at how well done the rides are at Universal. WWHP is obviously well-done. I loved the Mummy and Superman rides too. We were lucky enough to get in to test Despicable Me and enjoyed that a lot. My girls were thrilled that the cast of Victorious was there for the Summer Concert Series and they were able to see them. My kids didn't get most of it, but my DH and I loved The Simpsons ride. All rides must end in the gift shop. So true!
