I went with my brother, SIL, niece and nephew to see the Christmas Carol Train tour yesterday in Cleveland by the Brown's Stadium. We got very lucky and got there before there was any line, we walked on to the train and by the time get got off the train the line was about 45 minutes long.

It was neat to see, but there is no way I would wait 5 hours! :scared1: It's worth about a 30 minute wait. There are I think 6 train cars you walk through where you see real costumes, models and scenes from the movie, how they made it, ect...And then there are computers where you can morph your face into one of the characters from the movie. This is the part that probably really backs up the wait time. There were four of us that wanted to morph our faces, it took some time and most people were families, so it wasn't just one person trying this, it was 2, 3, 4, or more in party. If you live by one of the stops and the line is too long for the train, try just going to the movie pre-view, the wait for that seemed shorter and the pre-view was really good.

The movie pre-view in the blow up theatre was very cool. I am now very excited to see the movie. The 3D was amazing the effect make it seem like it was snowing right in the theatre. Jim Carrey looked amazing as Scrooge and the ghosts were very real. I really enjoyed the pre-view, more so than the train. The movie looks like it is going to be amazing. My brother and I both said it was something we'd like to see at an IMAX theatre. I think it will be a hit.

ABC's Good Morning America had Sam (the weather guy) there in Cleveland today and they showed all of the cars and some of the things on display.

I am looking forward to seeing it in Philly or NYC late in Oct.
Glad to hear you like the preview too.

I hate that it's coming to Philly on a Tuesday. Can't justify taking the kids out of school or me taking off work. I'll have to see DD17's work schedule to see if there is any shot at a trip to Baltimore where its there over a weekend.

Could you make it after school/work? It was open til 7pm here. We didn't take the kids out of school, we went after school and my brother gets off work at 4pm, so he could come too. I think we got there at about 10 minutes to five. At 5:30pm there was a line, but it wasn't outrageous, under an hour.

We have a DIS New England meet scheduled to do the one in Boston next weekend (9/26) - I guess I hadn't planned on hours long waits! Still, it sounds really cool, and I hope that by getting there when they open we might beat the big crowds. Rope drop, and all! :)

Thanks for the review - looking forward to seeing it!

I think we will be fine... plus even if there is a little wait it will be with lots of fun people!!! I am gonna pack some bubbles just in case!!

I knew I should have worn my DIS button. That is about when I was there! If you saw a lady with a greenish t-shirt with Chip and Dale on it, that was my mom and I was carrying a camera and camera bag.

We only waited for about one group to get in the train and the show. The train had some cool stuff in it. And will have to find an Imax to see the show at!

I was actually sort of watching for DIS'ers. I saw a lady with a lime green shirt on and a family with Disney World t-shirts on, but no obvious DIS people. I did have my DIS-Unplugged pin on my purse though, can't believe you didn't spot it! :rotfl:

Did they change the schedule? When this first was announced I marked my calendar that they were in Cleveland on the 18th and 19th. I planned on going after work tomorrow.

Oh well, I am heading to Phily at about midnight Sat morning for the Distance Run so I guess I will get some of the stuff I was going to put off to see the train instead.

It's a shame that the rain actually ruined our theater area when the Traiin was in New Orleans last month. It was really the only reason I stood in the long, hot, miserable line. Then to find out AFTER the whole thing that, by the way, "there is no movie...sorry". If I hadn't asked, no one would have ever told us.

.... but, I'm glad that other cities got to see it!
