On 10-19-03 4 day wonder the weather forecast 48 hours before the trip looked awful. However the weather could not have been more perfect. No rain or winds at all. We were fortuntate enough to go to castaway cay however that has turned out to be probably the worse day of my wife's life. We were married for 5 years and had extensive fertility treatment before we had kids. Finally we had our son and later our daughter; who are the most awesome blessings and gifts from GOD. We went on the Wonder 9-11 and from the time we got off the boat all my son talked about was going back. So for his birthday (10-21) we went back had the best time except at castaway cay because my son got lost. I was gone to the ship to get some things we forget and my wife had her hands full with our 3 year old and our 15 month old. Our little boy got away. The Disney crew was great and we located him in about 15 minutes. However my wife was extremely upset and had at least one break down a day until about Friday. I honestly feel that God was watching over our son and protecting him and maybe he was watching over someone on the 10-23 cruise by not allowing them to dock.

<font color=navy>Your poor wife - that is the worst feeling!

I'm glad he was found okay, and hope that the rest of your trip was fun, despite the panic attacks.

The pic is adorable.

I love your attitude!!

I too feel when things don't happen OUR way, this wasn't meant to be. We don't know why, but it just wasn't.

I feel horrible for anyone that can't dock there. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that we get to next month!!:teeth:

What a horrible feeling losing your child!!

We went to Pizza Hut after a soccer game one time. My son was about 10. We also had his best friend and my daughter. My husband had to leave and I thought he had the kids. I then left having a wierd feeling the whole way home. When I arrived home, NO KIDS!! What a sick feeling!!! We got on the phone as I drove as fast as I could back. They couldn't find them!! Anyways, they called my sons' friends mom and she came and got them. We crossed each other on the road and pulled over to get my kids. All I could do was cry and hold them so tightly. A parents worse nightmare of something happening to your children.

I"m glad your son was found safely.

Ok...more info. than you wanted to hear.

What an adorable picture of your son!!

I don't have kids, but I do appreciate them--and I have to say that is one adorable kid!!!! Good for you--I am so glad that everything turned out okay!

We we're also on the 10-19-03 cruise. Castway Cay was our favorvite day!! The weather was wonderful!!! I would be so dispointed if on a future cruise we would not be able to go!! It was the highlight of the trip for my four year old son!! I'm so sorry to hear about your son getting lost! I'm with your wife, if that would of happened to me I would of lost it right there! But, at least everything turned out okay, and your son is alright.

We too were on the 10-19 cruise. The weather was perfect the entire trip. You must have been very frightened when your son was missing, and I can understand how you're extra worrysome when you've had such trouble bringing your beautiful children into the world. No matter how careful we are though, they do manage to give us a scare now and then.

I thought one of the nicest things about the cruise was that I felt my children were so safe - both on the ship and on Castaway Cay. I hope that all future cruisers are able to experience the beauty of Castaway Cay too - wouldn't want anyone to miss it!

OH MY! I am so sorry this happened to you! That is a horrible feeling, I know...won't get into it here, but...

How is your son doing after the ordeal?

I am so happy that the story had a good ending.. I sincerely hope your wife feels better soon and that your son is ok after the experience. How scarey! Thank goodness nothing happened! I am so glad the cm's found him so quicky but I am sure that 15 mins. was the longest in your life!

It is very scary. We, too, got separated from our 10 year old son on the way back to the ship at Castaway. He ran back to the chairs to get his tshirt and in the meantime we started walking. He didn't see us leave the beach. We combed the beach and couldn't find him anywhere! The CM's were GREAT! They all have walkie talkies and it was immediately broadcast. Our fear was he started in the wrong direction or went into the water (he had MAJOR depression problems before the cruise and was never alone the whole time just in case......-- hence taking his best friend with us). He was found about 20 minutes later by She Sells.... in tears. We were then the LAST ones on the ship! I know yours is younger but you will find as they get older those kinds of worries/scares still exist. Yes, thank God they were found safe.

What a terrible feeling! DS disappeared in an instant around a corner in the children's play area in Busch Gardens in VA. I started running with DD who was 9 months old at the time & an employee saw me & stopped me to find out what was wrong. They had a code sent out & found him within a couple minutes in the same section. I'm so glad that everything turned out great for you and your family!

BTW, that is an adorable picture!!! Made me tear up thinking of my kids meeting Mickey for the first time in a couple weeks. :)

So glad to hear your son and wife are OK & doing well. Sounds like DCL CMs were on the ball & right there for you.

Your son is the cutiest! Love the Tux! They need to put that photo in the cruiseline brochure!

:D

I am so glad you found your son all right. I had this happen to me at Jekyll Island and it was almost an out of body experience looking back, getting back to where we last saw her and finding her. Nice hotel. Child crying outside of a room. Maids just looking at her (which to a young one that is pretty scary too), but thank God we did get to her and I could not hold on tight enough to her after that.

Your son will never forget it, but it will get much less traumatic with time. My daughter still brings it up now but in more of a teasing us manner.

I certainly hope your wife is well now too. Panic attacks are very scary, and the thought of having one can even bring one on. Our thoughts are with all of you.

:D

Sorry to hear you both had such a scare---I can totally relate. In '99, we lost our (then) 6 year old daughter in AK. The CM's were super, as well as some passerbys who saw me frantically calling for her. It was kind of crowded that day and it happened so fast. It turned out she saw a stuffed toy she liked in one of the shops and just decided to go investigate. She was out of my sight for all of 10 seconds ---but that's all it takes. I have 3 kids and trying to keep an eye on them all together can be tough. My husband was taking a bathroom break when this happened. She was found within 5-10 min thankfully by a CM. Glad your story had a happy ending too.
