Well, that was a bit exciting

Was walking the dog & I could hear someone yelling for help. I then realized it was my elderly neighbor and thought the worst. So, I zipped over there as quickly as I could and thankfully he was okay. He's had both legs removed above the knee and has an electric wheelchair. And he was stuck in the mud in his yard. His little dog got struck by a car (she's okay) and in his panic, he zipped out into the yard for her and got stuck, phone inside.

Pretty quickly, I realized there was no way I could unstick him by myself, so my wife called the neighbor across the street who was just sitting down to dinner with a bunch of guests. He came over with 2 other guys and we were able to get the whole works (chair, neighbor, and dog) back up on concrete and use his hose to clean off the wheels before he went inside.

Wasn't at all what I expected just taking the dog for a walk!

Great work Gumbo!

Has your neighbour considered an alarm? My Popa had one that was worn like a watch and he just had to press a button to call for help

Yikes - good you helped out. I hope the dog is brought to the vet asap.

Awesome. He was lucky to have a great neighbor!

The guy across the street from me would probably just ignore me if I were in trouble. I waved and said hello to him a while back and he just grunted and walked off. :rolleyes2

Nice work! :goodvibes I hope the dog continues to be ok today. Years ago I saw my neighbor's dog bounce off the front wheel of the car in front of us out on the road. I managed to find the dog and get him back to his owner. She took him to the vet and they couldn't find anything wrong, but the next day, the dog died. :guilty: Have your neighbor just keep a close eye on him.

To be fair, that's kind of how this neighbor is. We tried to kind of welcome him to the neighborhood when he moved in, but he's kind of an old grouch. :)

The fact that he is a grump is all the more reason to say good work! Hopefully, this will break the ice for him and he will become more neighborly as well
