We are blacked out of free dining and I was really excited to just get the pin code that others have posted about (35% off deluxe, 25% off moderates)...but after an hour on the phone with Disney and then AAA (which was very nice and helpful calling to try to apply the code after hours), they told us that there is no availability at any of the moderates with the code Soooooooo bummed right now Hoping against hope that the general public code comes out and works for use. Never felt this depressed planning a Disney trip before

A pin code is one that is linked specifically to your name; they are sent (supposedly without any rhyme or reason) to a certain number of people either by e-mail or regular mail. They are not general discounts that can be used by everyone. It's exciting to get one unless you can't use it!

Did they check your nights individually? Could be even just one of your nights isn't available so it's making your whole week look unavailable. Let me check your dates on the AP site and see what it says. A GP room discount is rumored to be released and usually it's around the same dates as the AP deal is. I'll be right back....

Nov 8-15, 7 nights, shows:
PORiverside $920 standard room
Caribbean same thing. All other room categories are available at the discount too.

Since there is so much availability, I'll bet a GP room deal will include those resorts. The deal will probably not be as steep as the AP deal, but not much higher.

In checking each night at POFQ, I got:
Nov 11 and 12 were the only 2 nights showing availability and I think it was full price because each night was around $200.

Pins are an email or snail mail offer that they send out to only a few people. You can't use anyone else's pins, just ones that they send to you. And sometimes people gets tons in a small amount of time, and others go years without getting them. Apparently there is no rhyme or reason to who they send them to, but some think that you should save vacation plans under your email account at their website and also order the free vacation planning DVD.

And to the OP, good luck! Maybe keep calling to see if anything opens up, or at least that you'll get a good GP offer soon.

I got my 35% off deluxe resorts thru December 2011 & would be using it except we decided to go to Hard Rock Hotel at Universal in November 2011 as opposed to DisneyNDecember (hence the name) this year. We went to Universal Hard Rock Hotel about 6 years ago, so we are excited !!! I hope you guys get the PIN for Disneyworld as well!!!

Okay, I know I'm being a big baby but I have to admit that I'm having a good cry over this whole thing I was reading the scrooge thread and the blackout thread and I know a lot of people are in the same boat -- I think I'm just really sad because planning Disney trips is my favorite thing in the whole world and I just feel like today (and the free dining black out) sucked some of the magic out of the planning for me and it's making me nervous that it will affect my trip also. I'm sure I just need a day to get over it but I'm really bummed over the whole thing right now

I say to hold out hope for a GP deal. Since there is so much availability at the moderates for your dates with the AP deal, I'll bet you might snag something with the GP deal. As long as you are flexible in switching moderates, that is. The FQ looks pretty full for your dates.
