Well.... my OMG this can't happen....UPDATED!!!

I already posted this on the weekly thread, but I want to post another thread too, just in case anyone has any suggestions. As many of you know my DS6 has been training to run the Disney 5k ever since we got back from the Full last January, he has worked so hard and has been so excited. I now feel like the worlds worst Mom. I promised him this race, and just found out tonight that it is already closed. I have spent the last 2 hours on the computer HOPING to find some way to get entry into this race and have come up with nothing. So this is my last ditch effort before I break the news to him. If anyone has any advice or suggestions it would be greatly appreciated.

Just wanted to let everyone know that Thank too all of your wonderful support and donations, Michael has reached his goal of $500.00!! He is going to be so excited when he gets home and I tell him.

I still have about $205 left to reach my goal of $500.00 but we are getting there, and it is thanks to each and every one of you here!!

I registered late for the Half Marathon last year and entered through a charity. I went with the A-T Children's Project. I needed to raise or donate at least $500 by mid-December.

I just checked on the web site, and it looks like you might be able to do the same for any of the races.

Last night I literally went to bed with tears in my eyes. See, after I asked you guys for help I sat down with Michael and explained to him that I was still trying to find a way for us to run this race, but that we might not be able to. The first words out of his mouth were, "I did all that hard work for nothing". I, of course, told him how sorry I was, and he told me it was okay. I told him I didn't feel like it was okay, that I felt like I had let him down, and you'll never believe what he told me. He said, "You could never let me down, your my Mom!". Seriously, it took everything I had not to break down and bawl. I did ask him what I did to deserve a kid so sweet!! So when I woke up this morning with this information from all of you it really was like a miracle. I know it's not going to be easy to raise this money, but at this point I am willing to do whatever it takes to give him this race. So thank you guys so much!!

How sweet. I am glad you were able to get in somehow. I know I was disapointed in myself for not signing up sooner and I missed the deadline. Looks like I will be avoiding Marathon Weekend completely. Looking forward to Minnie Marathon weekend.

First off, I wanted to again say THANK YOU to everyone who has donated to help me and Michael with their donations!! Michael was disappointed that he didn't get to meet anyone on Saturday at the TOT, but he did get to see all of the WISHer's run past him as they watched in MGM. A few of you got to see my little one sleeping later while Michael and his dad rode Rock'n'Roller Coaster!!

Second, I just wanted to give an update on how we are doing and what we have raised so far. We still have until December 14th to raise $500.00 each, and we are getting there little by little. I want you to know that almost EVERY single dime has come from this wonderful group of people here on the WISH board. I truly never thought that we would get most of the support and donations from you guys. I figured it would be mostly our family and IRL life, but it turns out it has been almost the exact opposite!! You guys are awesome!!

So here are our standings!!

Me - $50.00 (looks like I need to work a little harder, huh?)

I just saw this thread. I don't know how I missed it before. What a sweet boy you have there. I will definitely donate. I want to see you guys there so I can root for you.

Also, I don't know if this has been mentioned but have you thought about doing a garage sale or something similar to help raise funds? I know of some folks from Team in Training who do this.

Well, it's been a couple of weeks, so I wanted to let everyone know how our efforts are going on the money raising front. Michael has been working really well on his running, and has been talking to everyone he meets about the fundraising he is doing. And in the way only a 6 year old can he is doing his best to tell people about A-T and how we are trying to help. He is very excited to know that he is going to be meeting Alyssa (the girl with A-T who's team we are raising money for) at the pasta dinner in January. We still have some money to raise, and I am using EBAY as a way to help fund any we are short by the deadline on the 14th. If anyone has any interest in some Disney items that I will be EBAYing to help let me know!!

As of today here are our stats~~

Michael - $335.00 - Only $165.00 left!!

Dana - $145.00 - OUCH - Only 355.00 Left!!
