DS17 texts me earlier today and said that a girl from our old town invited him--AND HIS GIRLFRIEND to prom in our old town :lmao::confused3:lmao:. This girl from our old town is a little strange. DS was nice to her when we lived there but she doesn't have many friends. She sends him a lot of text messages and Facebook stuff and he ignores as much as he can. I think she so desperately wants to go to prom but this is just weird.

I know the rules for prom in our old town and he would be able to go but his girlfriend would certainly NOT be able to go. :lmao: Last time I talked to DS about prom he was in no way shape or form EVER going to ANY prom. I promptly told him that if any of his friends did not get invited to prom that he was to be a gentleman and take her-this was before he had a girlfriend though. This is NOT what I meant though :lmao:.

That's sad. I think any decent person deserves to have at least a couple of good friends. I hope that poor girl gets to go to prom because it's obvious that she really wants to go.

Any chance your DS has a friend who could double with him and his girlfriend?

Our old town is 3 hours away so it really isn't something we will let him do so no, probably not. The first issue is where is he going to stay??? No, he isn't going.

Oh that poor girl! My heart breaks for her...(not because of your son but because you said she doesn't have many friends and is odd). Hopefully your son made you and/or your dh the bad guy saying you wouldn't let him drive the 3 hours....

Our kids have always had permission to use us as an excuse even if we never talked about it so I am sure that is what he will do--especially since we did say no.

This girl just tries WAY too hard. My guess is that she has Asperger's but her parents never sought any help for her--they probably have it as well. She just has zero social skills.

That Britney song "3" popped into my head for some odd reason, but that's probably not it.

I'm thinking that she's just not up on who's dating who, and she's obviously not popular, so I could understand why she wouldn't be.
