Yeah, they are crazy for thinking of going out. If they were smart, they'd just extend the contract a year and strike next year.

I'm with you! All my retired phone company friends are being called back, in preparation for the strike. I can't believe anyone would strike in this economy. They're all hoping for a strike because their 401 K's have taken a huge hit and they need to go back to work. But, back to the original thread, I think Geico is a great company and I hope you get the job. I enjoy reading the posts everyday and I'm looking forward to putting faces to the names on the 4th of July.

GTE gave pretty nice bonuses to management working strike duty. Although we never went on strike in Florida during my years - several of my management friends worked strikes in other areas and made HUGE money. Maybe AT&T is stingy - hence the strike?!?
