Well.... I just did it.

Are they CRAZY? Going out on strike in this economy??? That's just pizzing up a rope if you ask me. Good luck to the union workers. That'll mean more money for you, Pete, cause they usually fill the gap left by striking workers with management people.

ETA: Thanks, everyone!! I'll let you know something as soon as I do.

more money how, it means 60+ hour weeks......

Yeah, they are crazy for thinking of going out. If they were smart, they'd just extend the contract a year and strike next year.

Good luck, Deb!! I'll be sending good wishes your way!! :thumbsup2

I'm with you! All my retired phone company friends are being called back, in preparation for the strike. I can't believe anyone would strike in this economy. They're all hoping for a strike because their 401 K's have taken a huge hit and they need to go back to work. But, back to the original thread, I think Geico is a great company and I hope you get the job. I enjoy reading the posts everyday and I'm looking forward to putting faces to the names on the 4th of July.

Good luck, Deb. If you get the job, maybe I will switch my scooter insurance from Progressive.

I have known many people that worked at the Lakeland Corp. and they were all happy with their $$. so that is a plus. I'll keep you in my prayers!!

Does geico really stand for...wait...what did he say??

um...government employee insurance co.?? really??

GTE gave pretty nice bonuses to management working strike duty. Although we never went on strike in Florida during my years - several of my management friends worked strikes in other areas and made HUGE money. Maybe AT&T is stingy - hence the strike?!? :confused3

I read that there will be no strike.
