well I figured out what to do

with the gate... After reading all your sugestions and going to our local garden center and looking at what I could do... I planted a clinging vine flower called sweetpea... I will post a picture after a few weeks... Thank you all for the great ideas...

Hi Nat,
You'll be very happy with sweet pea, I think. I have it climbing up my fence. It is a real agressive climber and will do well. I pair mine with clematis and it looks really nice. Looking forward to seeing pictures.
