My step son is joining our family vacation in May! He just so happens to live in Florida :) and is going to drive from his home on the coastal side and meet us arrival day. I am planning on giving him a "LIST" for FOOD/Drink. I am assuming he can also bring a cooler of some sort for the car travel.

So far on the list:
BEER!!
Orange juice
Milk
Juice boxes
2 cases of bottled water- there's 5 adults 1 child
Vanilla FatFree coffee creamer

MOST of our eating at the resort will be early morning, snacks for afternoon breaks, and evening snacks
We'll be eating CS lunch and /or dinner with only 3 ADR's for 8 days.

Please give me all your FOOD recommendations:

I’m not a morning eater, but for kids a bowl of cereal with milk and a banana was a lifesaver for me. They got up early, watched a Disney cartoon, and ate their cereal while I showered and had a quick cup of coffee before heading out to the parks. Sometimes they had some string cheese. Also, for snacks, they loved having an apple so I had apples in my backpack for the day.

Powerade or gatorad e. Only Coke products on property, so if any one prefers Pepsi.

snacks in room: goldfish, pretzels, grapes, cookies, chips (We buy the large pkg with a variety of small inside. One little bag is $2.99. Ouch!!

not sure if you want ice, for a small soft side cooler (allowed in park) you will need some Zip lock bags. Assorted sizes for snacks, to put electronics in during water rides.

Quick snacks and breakfast foods. Cereal, muffins, granola bars. Beer and wine, they’re so expensive on property. We eat breakfast in room each day, usually cereal.

We love carnation breakfast drink. Or ensure. Saves a ton of money skipping breakfast.
Can’t go wrong with beer... well Scotch is better. Lol. But that doesn’t go in fridge.

Bowls and spoons for the cereal. Cups if your drinks will not be single-serving size. Paper plates if you're going to be eating muffins or other things which create crumbs. Paper towels which can double as napkins.

Great TIP and easy to pack. I'm putting some in the WDW "bag" right now.

Can anyone give me tips on the SIZE of milk and OJ that fits easily in the mini fridge? Is a 64 ounce going to fit or should we stick with all single size? I think a few mini "chugs" of chocolate milk would be nice.

I stopped reading at this point because it seems you have the important things covered.
This alone should save us a few hundred dollars!!! KIDDING.. but seriously bringing in a few 12 packs of Blue Moon & etc will be cost savings galore!! All 5 adults will enjoy a COLD One or two!!

My family, especially the kids, tend to end up drinking more water than usual, especially if you plan to throw a few bottles in a park bag.

Milk - quart size might fit
Orange Juice
Beer
Wine
Granola Bars
Pop Tarts
Mozzarella sticks or baby bells

These 3 items are vital to traveler digestive health:
Yogurt
Bananas
Prunes

Peanut butter, jelly, bread
Box of individual-size packets of liquid non-dairy creamer that doesn't require refrigeration
Packets of sugar/sweetener
Yogurt
Fruit cups/applesauce
Cheese, sliced pepperoni and crackers

The shelf stable milk / soymilk / milk alternatives will allow you to purchase a few boxes (quart sized, I think) so you won't have to take up real estate in the fridge, and keep others outside of the fridge. Just open a new one as needed - put the new one in the fridge before you need it.

I'm partial to having some really good lunchmeats in the fridge as well for sammiches.

Here's what we keep in the room:
We always bring a coffee maker for the room is we are in a room without one. Not sure if there are coffeepots in the room or not, not sure if technically they are allowed, but we always bring a 4 cup Gevalia coffee maker and have never had an issue (we like drip/brewed better than those packet-things). We try to eat all our breakfasts in the room, as well as snacks. We also bring *snacks into the park* (nothing squishy, no chocolate as it melts) for in-between snacking.

SO... coffee, filters, half-n-half, tablespoon (for measuring the grounds)
sometimes some teabags and honey
Yogurt
Grapes
Tangerines/cuties/halos (whatever they are called in your area)
Bananas (not if we are flying, they bruise too easily)
Cheese and crackers- bring a decent knife for slicing cheese
mini bagels
peanut butter
*granola bars (either chewy or crunchy)- park snack
*fruit snacks/gummy things- park snack
cookies
pretzels
sometimes cereal and milk for DH if he isn't happy to do yogurt/fruit/bagels all the time
peanuts
disposable bowls, cups, small plates, utensils- not ecologically friendly, so sometimes we bring enough plastic ware for each person and wash them- meaning bring your dish soap (bar soap/shampoo leave a scent/flavor on the plastic)
paper towels
bottled water
powdered flavor sticks for the water- I get these at Dollar Tree; we can get iced tea, flavored iced tea, lemonades, and all sorts of koolaid-like-flavors. Beats having a bunch of soda and stuff around.
BEER
WINE (bring a corkscrew from home)

It looks like a lot of stuff, and I'll edit this if we don't have a rental car or don't fly on Southwest (which gives us each 2 free checked bags so there's space for stuff). If we won't have a car, I'll bring individual half-and-half creamers, and individual things of honey, peanut butter, jam, etc... usually liberated over time from donut/bagel shops over time when we make purchases, LOL! Lots of people say "I don't cook" on vacation but we find we save money having breakfast and evening munchies available in the room. You are lucky that your son is driving up and can bring stuff, saving you from having to pack it or make the inevitable grocery store stop when you just want to get checked in and be vacationing!!

we love the hillshire farms snack kits ( lunchables for adults) they are awesome for a late night snack or eat on the go. They have cheese, a meat and mebla toast. They go well with wine

Agree with the poster above and get Gatorade. We drink at least one per day, sometimes two. May can be hot, so hydration is super important.

I also agree with beer :)

After a couple of days of vacay food, my teens beg for fruits and veggies so nowadays, we always buy carrots, cucumbers and fruit. We don't tend to eat a lot of fruits and veggies (other than occasional salads for the adults) at restaurants so easy snacking stuff in the room helps a lot.

A full sized refrigerator. You aren't going to be able to fit all that into the tiny refrigerators in the hotel rooms.
