Kimmar, I'm so sorry to hear about the boys. I do hope they recover fully AND learn a valuable lesson from all of this. Such senseless tragedies. :( Gotta admire that mama taking this opportunity to send a message home to the rest of the kids. Smart woman!

...yes, I agree!

GF just called me that her Mom died. This is my close friend that we enjoy the "Butcher Fest" with and shared rooms with in college. He Mom had Azheimers and the call to me was that "Mom is not confused any longer." Still sad to lose, but blessed she is. I feel the desire to be there with my friend now, but cannot leave b/c of DS's needs.

Morning gang,

WOW! The kick off breakfast this morning was so emotional. They introduced the ambassador family and their kids and then they showed a video that looked a lot like a slide show with the story of a baby named George Daniel. George was born 4 weeks preterm and was born with a hole in his heart. the docs said the hole would heal itself. But he was so tiny that at almost 4 months his heart gave out. The whole time this video was showing they were playing the Alabama song "Angels Among Us". Oh my gosh there was not a dry eye in the house. I glanced around while trying to discretly wipe my eyes only to find that everyone around me had their napkins up to their eyes. It was really a good kick start to get the walk going. I think everyone left there ready to raise as much money as they could with George in our minds!!

How you feeling Tara? We'd cheeto Jack, but then again you might not like that....
:lmao: Yeah, I would prefer to not be covered in cheese dust (i"ve seen the comercials!)

But I should have one less part of my brain hurting...mom qualified for one of her diabetic meds  That saves almost $100 a month! If anyon has any pull with the social security administration could you please kick them in butt and get them moving for me????? Once I get that taken care of a big stress will be removed but until then..ugh!!

dang...time for the kids to come back, so I'll have to come back to post again!!

:grouphug: Lily..I'm so sorry to hear about your friend's mom. Lots of hugs your way!!

Lily  I am so sorry to hear that :(

Wow, Kimmie agreed with something I said??? ;) Concert is next Saturday. Good thing too, i am still pooped

Kimmar, I do hope you are right about the no news!

Tara, that does sound like one heck of a jump start!!! How sad for that little boy :(

I need to start getting ready. Shopping went okay. I now remember why I hate buying pants and why I love skirts! I found a pair of slacks that will work (from amazingly NY&Co) I had a heck of a time finding pants that didn't have the stupid side pockets that bulge out on a lady with hips. found a cute shirt too... nice b-day present ::yes::

Page 3! :earseek:

Lily, so sorry to hear about your friend's mom. :(

Elaine, nice pics.

Suzanne, hair looks great. :)

My new dishwasher came in, but we will pick it up tomorrow. I finally remembered before Junior left for work that they had our old phone #. :rolleyes1

Off to watch the Opening Ceremonies!

:moped:

everyone must be watching the Olympics tonight ::yes::

We just got back from the game. Lost but still was nice to sit in the owner's suite. The whole family (owner's family that is) was there and made for a good crowd!

Enjoy the night y'all!

Morning, all.

Grrrrr at daycare lady's passive/agressive behavior. Need to find someone new. The boys are going to SIL's today because she's got something to do, but I'm taking advantage of her :confused3

Lily, so sorry about your GF's mom. To borrow from what she said, take some comfort in that she's not confused anymore.

Lainey, no olympic watching for us until Friday :teeth: . Being in the owner's box must have been fun.

Gotta do some laundry-fun, fun.

Suzanne

Morning all! For those getting snow this weekend, good luck!

We watched the remainder of the ceremony last night and was so tired we just pooped out for a while.

What's on Friday though, Suzanne?
Good luck with teh daycare person though. I really cannot stand passive-agressive people. I like to deal with things and not go about it in a jerk sort of a way.

Last night was fun too! Luis works for the same guy who owns both the company he works for as well as the Blue Jackets. Since he works for the corporate people he has access to tickets. So the big guy they always show on TV (the actual owner) was there as well as the guy who now technically runs the company (his son). The guy who runs the company actually knows who Luis is and it just shocks me when somoene that "big" knows family, shakes our hand and teases us a bit. I know, I get star struck (so to speak) easily ;)

Not sure what we are doing today. I hope y'all have a good day!

Morning Ya Yas!

Thanks everyone for your support and prayers.

Elaine, glad you had a good time. at the game.

Suzanne, hope you can find a good replacement daycare person.

Sherry, Yay for new dishwasher!

Tara, hope things get settled with Mom and SS stuff. That is indeed a pile of stress.

Watched opening ceremonies. I enjoyed it, but it went on so late that I fell off part way. Glad I was able to come back so I could watch it. I wish I was not such a loser when it comes to staying up late. Lots to do today, not sure what I will choose exactly. Some must do, some choices.

Happy Saturday - cold and sunny here - most definitely the calm before the storm....expecting 8-14 inches tonite and tomorrow.

I'm working tonite 4-11 (ahhh the pleasesure of working from home) - maybe I'l sneak into Chat.

Elaine - hockey game sounded fun - we are a big hockey towmn her e- high school hockey is the most populat sport. Kids usuallu start at 5yrs old. Chris pplayed for a few yesrd byt quit because of knee problems. My mother in law was one of the organizers of our towms learn-to-skate program. Alyssa took figure skating for several years then volunteered teaching.

Chris and Jeffrey are outside adjusting brakes and putting tires back on the truck. I guess after that they will be going to my inlaws to move in a new wood store (just in time) and then to my brother in laws to cut beef. Leaves me no choice but to clean the house.....bummer!!

I di dsome college research for Alyssa yesterday - searched by distance from home and cost. Hopefully that will help. She is with Ryan again this weekend - he got his birthday presests that I sent and really liked them.

Guess I'd better shower and start cleaning....

Woohoo for new dishwashers!!!
Suzanne - so sorry that you are having day-care issues - hope things get better.

More later....

I don't know which was more entertaining-the ride on Space Mountain or first timers Nancy and Pam's reactions to it, lol!

Who you calling a frist timer??...not me!! Been on many, many times...at both MK and DL...it just is not my favorite coaster.

I'm back!! Delay after delay on the trip home :(
We finally landed in bed about midnight (our time)
Not doing a good ketchup.
I need to get moving and go get some groceries and the usual....clean the house, unpack, do laundry.

It was great to see Elaine again....and meet Suzanne and Pam.

Be back later

Morning, Ya Yas! Sorry to have been among the missing for the last few days. I caught the cold that is going around the store and have been busy nursing that. Been busy with all my income-producing activities, too, so not a lot of time to play.

Lily, so sorry to hear about your friend's mom, but glad that she is finally at peace. Sorry, too, about the job cuts. That's never any fun. Hope DS' recovery is going well.

Lainey, glad you had a good trip! Can't believe you finally got to meet our Roadkill Mama!! Whoo-hooo! Have you finally convinced her that we are mostly harmless? Yes, the dress was absolutely lovely on you and that Luis sure cleans up good, too!

Suzanne, I love the new 'do!! Reminds me of a song I've been hearing a lot lately--something about spending a week in a spa in New York and coming back "knock-down pretty". The look is sooooooo good on you!!

Paula, glad to hear you finally got your breakfast with your dad! Sounds like your Valentine's shopping went well too!! I totally understand your frustration with DH's negativity. Hopefully, some of the counseling will reach him and he will realize how destructive his comments are. Big  as you work through this. Big  for Alyssa, too, as she chooses a new school. She seems to have such a good head on her shoulders!

Kimmie and Kimmar, I can't believe how you guys have suckered me in! I am soooooo looking forward to seeing Apolo skate again! Worked the crop last night, so I missed the opening ceremonies. Hoping to catch a recap somewhere today.

Kimmar, I've been praying for the boys and all those affected by that terrible accident. That mom showed such strength of character to bring in all those other kids to view the tragedy. Big kudos to her and more prayers that the message hit home with them.

Kimmie's gettin' a new kitchen, huh?! Whoo-hoooo!! Are you going to be allowed to use it or just look at it? Although, I suppose you can manage getting out the milk and cereal, right?! j/k

Sherry's new kitchen is just about complete, now, huh?! Did you get one of those new QUIET dishwashers? We have one here in the new place and I am absolutely amazed at the difference!! Enjoy it!! Glad to hear the boys are doing well and Jr. is coming to terms with his new regimen. I bet getting back to work is doing him a world of good, too.

Tara, wishing you lots of luck and sending tons of PD for your fight with the school system over Jarrod's speech needs. Keep pushing them! Glad to hear you are making progress with SS for your mom's meds, too. Soooooo frustrating, I know. How's your head? I think Jack has dropped in on me, today. Either that, or he has a brother!! Your breakfast this morning sounded wonderful! GREAT pep talk to get ya'll motiviated to raise $$ for MOD.

I heard from Jon (PeterPan) yesterday. Sadly, his mom passed away last Monday. She's had a long, rough battle with cancer and this time, the disease won. I know he would appreciate it if ya'll would keep his family in your prayers.

Well, I need to go find a new box of tissues and empty this wastebasket. Think I'll lay back down for awhile and see if I can't kick this headache, too. Ya'll have a great day and I'll check in again when I can. :grouphug:

And Nancy sneated in!! Glad to see you back, sistah!! What we've heard so far sounds like ya'll had a great trip. Looking forward to more stories and pix from ya!

Oh I forgot to mention....

Alan.....sparkly Mickey boxer shorts.....:teeth: You are the talk of Disney ;)

Sorry to hear about your friend's mother, Lily.
And Jon's mother too. :(

Now I must get moving

Beth, good to hear from you. Hope yor get better soon.

Jon, Prayers, PD and positive energy to you as you go through this time.

Nancy, welcome back.

Paula, you good girl...I stayed and played here a bit. I'm off for real to do some of my things. Really.
:teeth:
